Class description: How to get it "right" in the camera, when you push the shutter button. We use PowerPoint slides and images to demonstrate the answers to the following questions:
Which file type to select; JPEG or RAW file?
How to achieve higher quality prints?
How to avoid photos with a yellow/blue cast?
How to achieve a sharper focused subject?
What to look at on the camera to determine if the photo is good?
What are quick corrections for a photo thats too dark or light?
If you are interested in purchasing a digital compact camera or an SLR, what is recommended and why?
What accessories should I buy for my camera?
Everyone attending the workshop will receive written guideline notes. We encourage questions from attendees and supply an e-mail address to follow up on questions. There is a hands on practice session with your camera at the end of the workshop.

Katy will reacquaint you with your little bug and have you friends in no time. From power to paper placement, blade depth and mat know how, you will be ready to cut and layer with the best of them.

In this informative 90 min class, you will discover all of the wonderful things CricutDesign Studio can do for your scrapping! Katy will walk you through all of the aspects of this versatile program including welding, flipping, merging multiple cartridges and much more. This is a hands on class, you will create and cut your own title and embellishments.

Class Description: Often have a hard time making those guy pages .. then these pages are for you. You will create a two page guy layout using a fun technique called bargello. Bargello was first used in quilting but now a fun scrapbook technique as well. You will create all the pieces for these two pages as well as adding some fun embellishments.

Step into the world of dimensional layouts using ribbons, paper pleating, pop ups and more. Using the beautiful Brooke Collection from Crate Paper as a base, Katy will teach you how to make ribbon flowers, pleated borders, and to use creative cutting and a bit of foam tape to make dimensional layouts that are eye catching and clever. You will create 2 - double page layouts in class and receive written instructions to take with you. These layouts can be used for many themes including outdoors, picnics, camping, playtime, quiet moments and many more. For all scrapbook levels.

Class description: Learn how to get it "right" in the camera, when you push the shutter button. 1). Learn five ways to compensate for low light without using flash. 2). Learn how to take photos using stage light, after dusk photos, interior lighting (those pesky museums that do not permit flash). 3). What are the critical camera terms/techniques that you need to know for achieving great low light photos 4). Participants receive written notes explaining the low light techniques and camera controls. 4). Participants use their camera to practice techniques during the hands-on demonstration.

I will demonstrate the fun techniques you can do with this great software, and show you how to add those little special embellishments, and finishes that people will ooh and awe over by adding the dimension that we all love. There will also be opportunity to come to labs during the weekend. There you can bring your digital photos to My Digital Studio where you can mouse and click to make that wow scrapbook page of your own.

My muscles were feeling very fatigued and recently I couldn't push weights that I've been doing easily for the past few months. I asked my brother (who has been a champion power lifter for years) what he thinks is going on and he said it's classic muscle fatigue and if I keep going it's a good way to get injured. He ordered no weights for 10-14 days. I have to ask him about cardio. I'm still doing yoga and I love the yoga but I don't think I can cut out all cardio for 2 weeks. 
Still have to buy proper clothes and sturdy shoes, but my backpack is purchased (and it's awesome!) and everything is booked and paid for - yay! I've always wanted to go to Egypt and cannot believe I'll be there this year! I've already started to search the Internet for Egypt papers and embellishments. Guess what I'll be working on at SDV 2011
