SDV Orlando 2010, August 27 - 29

It's starting to look like slim pickin's for the vendors too. Tickle Me Pink is allegedly not coming, according to Robin on the SDV site.

there are only 5 signed up for SDV New England.

I have zero desire to take any of the classes. I think Katy's might be at least intriguing but I'm not bringing my cricut and CDS is useless to me since I have a Mac and won't be bringing that either.

guess I save some money this year!!! Woohoo!!! I'm gonna do pick a pearl with mom instead!

Careful if you do the necklace with the pearl. Mine opened and I lost the pearl within hours of getting it.

Lisa and I took the camera classes last year. The first one was bad, real bad. I opted to skip the second class but Lisa went and she said it was better. I guess he tweaked his teaching style after we filled out the comment cards.

I didn't go to the second class, I think that was Rebecca. After not caring for the first class, I immediately cancelled MomE's and my registration.

I am thinking that Brooke class looks interesting, and maybe Fast and Fabulous. If anyone is interested, let me know.

I went to the 2nd class- the one about low light/night photos with Renee and we learned a whole lot. I can take good night photos now and the class really helped. At the same point I wouldn't suggest taking more than 1 of his classes as he taught about the same things in each class from what I heard. His biggest suggestion was to take tons of photos so some of them will come out- well DUH! But I did learn how to manually set my camera for low light photos during the class, mainly because we had time to play with the camera and someone who was telling us what the symbols on the camera meant for taking photos.

Rebecca

Katy does a good job teaching at the LSS- but I can take her classes when I'm home. I'll just be scrapping and shopping. :thumbsup2

Unfortunately I am not too wild about either of those Crate Paper patterns. Not sure if I will do the classes or not.

Buffy, where did you get the class information? I couldn't find a listing on the website, nor vendor info.

I have 1 cage for me and one for DD, so far so good. I will check them though. This past trip I had a ring done, gorgeous! I'll probably do another one, although I'm hoping for twins so I can get earrings.

I pulled the classes and the vendor list off the SDV New England list, but they were the same classes that were done at an SDV earlier this year. I heard about Tickle Me Pink on the SDV forums.

I'm sure we'll find plenty to do to cause trouble. ;)

HI SCOTT!!!!!!!!! :rolleyes1

I need to go back through my PMs and send Nancy an email with all of our names this week. And request that we don't get stuck near the Old School scrappers. We do NOT need another incident like last year.....

"Old School Scappers"- my curiosity is piqued. LOL

(really late seeing as it is a few days away) entries to SDV Burlington? I wasn't going to go cause we are leaving for Hawaii on Sunday but now I am starting to regret not signing up. I hate to miss all the fun and I really want to sign up for the lowlight photo class. I didn't see that it is sold out but do you think they will have a problem squishing me in with my friends?

Okay, I think I have gone partially blind as I did not see the Crop Shop on the vendor list? What the heck? Anyone have any scoop?

Hmmmm.........

Did anyone else go to Dream Events' website to purchase park tickets
and NOT see the link to get convention rate tickets? :confused3

you are not imagining things. No convention tickets as of yet, no class list for the SDV in 2 weeks, limited vendors.

Whew! Thought it was just me - having a nightmare. I've emailed Dale & Nancy & asked about the link for park tickets. Also commented that to buy tickets through Disney Conventionears, they verify your name against the hotel's list. Hmmm.... we can't do that til Dream Events turns in the hotel list. And what about those with local packages? Will post the response I get from Dale & Nancy. popcorn::

The DVC resorts aren't listed on the Conventionears site ... may have to call Disney ticketing about that one!

Like sand through an hourglass, these are the days of our lives :hourglass

I am so ready to plan my next vacation- I wish they would put more details on their website. :surfweb:

Nikki you just need to plan around it.

If you look at some of the classes for other SDV's you will get an idea of budgets for that. Food wise, there is probably something for everyone on the buffets. I'd say 97% of people ate at the planned meals.

We did our own thing for lunches.

Shopping it tough. There isn't a whole lot that you can't find in other places, like the internet. I do bring some cash to buy a paper I forgot or something. Most vendors take credit cards too.

and I don't do the massage so I have no idea how much that is. Oh and bring your bathing suit! MomE likes to hit the jacuzzi or pool every night.

I did a massage once- I think it was about $20 for 15 minutes, it wasn't much more than $1/minute- and I think a little less than that for a 30 minute massage. It was 2 years ago- if you are budgetting I would suggesty $2/minute and then if you have leftovers all the better.

Alrighty! Shirts have been purchased at Jiffy Shirts and now I just need to await their arrival and iron on the transfers! I'm going to use the ones with the dates - I like having a new shirt each year!

We used to have so many great classes to choose from, but from the looks of the other SDVs that is over! I remember one year I ended up taking 7 classes because I loved what was being offered. Oh well I guess the bright side is I'll save money and I won't spend all my scrapping time in class! ;)

I'm concerned that the vendors seems few and far between! Usually I buy a lot of stuff to complete my pages because I never know what I'll need! Looks like I may need to get my act together and actually try to kit some of these pages before I go! Rebecca - you are my inspiration! Mind sharing a few tips on how you manged to put some kits together? Do you kit each page layout individually?

My family and I leave for Disney on Aug 11th and we have our 2 week vacation before the scrapping starts and then they have a few days in the parks without me while I'm scrapping and we fly home on the 29th.

I better figure out what I plan to scrap quickly so I can order all my pictures! Yikes! :scared1:

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone again and catching up!
