SDV Orlando 2010, August 27 - 29

I'm concerned that the vendors seems few and far between! Usually I buy a lot of stuff to complete my pages because I never know what I'll need! Looks like I may need to get my act together and actually try to kit some of these pages before I go! Rebecca - you are my inspiration! Mind sharing a few tips on how you manged to put some kits together? Do you kit each page layout individually?

I kit each page or set of pages- so if I am doing Beauty and the Beast and using a 2-4 page spread I will kit that all as 1 kit. If I am doing a single page than that is one kit. It just depends on what I am doing.

Here is my kitting tutorial with pictures http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=29558134

hey everyone. Don't forget to bring an empty 2 1/2 gallon or 12x12 bag to put all of your scraps in!!

Also don't forget tiered shelving if you are bringing that. NO shelving that sits on the floor!!!! We (well not us, but the convention) have been reprimanded in the past for not keeping the aisles clear. Rolling totes, collapsible shelves etc must stay under the table or on top of the table. Trust me when I say people bring their ENTIRE rooms!! I watched a lady load a tow behind u-haul trailer one year.

Pack smartly!! Also don't bring tools unless you know you will use them. There is a punch and die cut center available. Remember scissors, tweezers, your favorite adhesives (wet and dry), and trimmer. Don't forget the trimmer, I did that one year and it was a pain in the keester! Brown pen and black pens are also must haves.

Thanks for the tips Buffy!!!! Since this is my first time, I need all the help I can get!!!:goodvibes

Since I'm driving, I'm planning to be bring my baby Cricut incase any of us need it. I'll have my Gypsy too so all my carts will be there too! The Cricut will just stay in the room, though, and we can just go there if we need to cut something.

I brought my bug last year and kept it in the room. I think Buffy and I used it but it was handy to have along. I am just joining everyone for breakfast this year so I won't be bringing mine along.

I'm sure we'll find plenty to do to cause trouble.

HI SCOTT!!!!!!!!! <<

LOL! I'll tell him to make sure you guys are on your best behavior... :)

>>Food wise, there is probably something for everyone on the buffets. I'd say 97% of people ate at the planned meals. <<
I haven't seen what meals ya'll have yet but the food is pretty good at the 'temp (I pretty much live off it most days..)

hey can you tell them to fix the green beans at Contempo Cafe. They were different (lacking soy sauce??) when we were there last month. I was really disappointed and I had been craving them for months!

How much influence do you think I have :) Conventions I can put in my 2 cents (well more like 5-6 cents) but even that gets hilarious at times

I need to get busy kitting too! I already have the photos printed. I'm going to work on our Montana vacation. But, I need to sit down and figure out what I'm going to use for what or else I'll be bringing half my room with me!

About how big of a work space do we each get at the table? I'm just curious as I try to figure out what to bring!

It is about 3 feet deep and around 2.5 feet wide I think. It may be a bit bigger than that but if you plan for that you will have room.

Hey, Gang!
I used to be a vendor for SDVs before I decided to come work for a certain Mouse. ;) (I had Scrappie Chick, if anyone remembers...)

Anyhow, I'm still trying to figure out if I can make it to a one day local thing with my work schedule, but one way or another, I'm going to stop in and say hello to my SDV peeps. If ya'll don't mind, keep me posted on your plans and I'd love to meet some fellow DIS/SDVers!

It's 3 feet wide by 30 inches deep; 1/2 of a 6 foot table. Last year I used painter's tape and taped off the exact size on my dining room table and set up my stuff so I knew I'd have enough room and it worked really well for judging how much room I'd need. I use drawers, the plastic things they sell at Target and Wal-Mart. Just like at home, I like my stuff to be put away and have a home. But, this year I have the CM Daisy accessories, so I might have to re-configure.

Don't forget the "pajama party" Saturday night. I'm thinking about wearing my Nick & Nora "breakfast" flannel jammies this year :rotfl:

When do you think the menus will come out? I have to plan what I can and cannot eat and what I need to bring for snacks!

Hey Emily - will you be there to provide the hot water for my tea at midnight?? :goodvibes

Hey, you look familiar... :rotfl:

I did a double take when I saw your name over here - it'd be great to meet you and thank you for all the information you've given me over the past two years!
