SDV Orlando 2010, August 27 - 29

Nikki, my mom and I arrive a few days early and do two full days at the parks. Once I start scrapping on Friday am I don't usually go out except maybe to watch the MK fireworks from the parking lot or do the character breakfast Sat am. I am not sure if we will be arriving Sunday or Tuesday before SDV this year.

I don't generally go to the park during SDV but I may go i with someone if they want to- we have annual passes and I will have spent the first week of August at the park doing whatever I want (DH is in class) so I will only go if I am doing it with others as I am not worried abot going during the time we are there.

Mom and I usually hit at least 1 park while we are there. I get my AP and she gets the military ticket. It depends on when we come down though. DH's birthday is the 25th so we probably won't be heading down until the 26th.

Thanks- I think we will definitely be going Magical Express- any money I can save for souveniers(sp?) will be good.

Do you all visit the parks or DTD during SDV- or do you pretty much just crop? I think we may do 2 parks- even for just a few hours- it would be fun to see it with just adults- as I have never been without DD7. :goodvibes

DH and I usually head down early to hit some parks, then He and I will go for meals at the parks during SDV. WDW sells a convention ticket which is a pretty good deal if you don't have tickets or an AP. I got that for Dh last year and it worked out great. This year SDV is only for the weekend, so I don't know how much running around I will do, in the past I did a longer SDV so I had "breaks" in my day.

I saw that usually SDV is 4 days, but this year it's 3- figures the year I want to come to it- it's less time. LOL We are going to try to fly down EARLY Thursday morning and then go to a park that day- probably MK- then have dinner in the park later.

Where do I fund out about the convention ticket?? I was thinking of buying an annual pass- because I know we'll go within a year of then- and also I get DVC discount- but the convention one might be a better deal.

The convention tickets are cheaper. You will be able to get info on that when the time is closer. If I remember correctly there was a link from the SDV site to purchase convention park tickets.

I got those two years ago, you can get half day, full day, hopper or none. Just don't get more than you can use, the passes have about a three month expiration date on them.

Thanks so much!! I definitely am in planning mode now- we have 4 people going now- so I guess we're getting a quad- I know our room will probably be crowded- but I don't think we'll be there too much anyway. :goodvibes

OK- my group is registering on Jan 16th(we are getting together for a crop)- the group is:

Nikki(me- nikkistevej)
Penny
Gwen
Carol

We are doing the Early Bird package. :cool1::cool1::cool1::banana::banana::banana:

Can I let you know after Saturday- we are getting together for a birthday crop for me and planning everything and we are going to register then as well.

What time will the breakfast be?:goodvibes

With a big group we have to get 1st or last seating so we always get 1st so probably 7:00-7:30.

yep, you can let me know later. Happy Birthday!!!

Like Rebecca said we usually get the first seating so we have the rest of the day to scrap.

Wow - that is early, but we're usually up early and ready to hit the parks at rope drop anyway! We'll have to cab it over to the Poly from POR to meet up with you guys, since we don't think the buses don't run that early. (Sob...still have our ressies at POR - can't really justify our fave YC on this trip since we're doing the cruise too....) We've already planned enough splurges on this trip - so gotta compromise somewhere. $164/174 a night compared to $450 (x11 nights) - HUGE difference. And, hey, its WDW - it's all good! (And as of today, 68% paid/saved for!) :cool1:

Ohana's, here we come!

Actually buses to MK for character meals/tours start at 6-6:30 am so you could take a bus to MK and the monorail from there to the Poly but it will take longer than a taxi- when you get on the bus the driver sometimes asks where you are going and brings you directly there.

That's a good idea. I didn't think the buses started that early - thought it was only an hour before the parks opened... We'll check into it - thanks, Rebecca!
