Scooter Mom - The Final Chapter - Day 4-Part Four - Complete!!

Chefs isn't something that has ever really been on our radar, but I have seen a lot of good things about it lately. Especially the onion soup. I like onions for flavor in foods, but I'm not sure how much I'd like an "onion soup" but I've got to admit I'm intrigued by it. Might have to make it over there sometime.

Their French Onion Soup is very good. Not as good as the Cheddar Cheese soup at LeCellier, mind you, but still .... very good. I think the soup and a salad there would be a good lunch.

Cute pictures with the fairies! I've never gone in there to meet them.

Les Chefs is an ADR we are considering for our next trip, so I love reading about it. It looks so cute, and I love how they bring Remy by! I'm sorry that your dish was bland though.

DD LOVES the fairies and all of their movies, etc. LOVES them !! I get the feeling that this a temporary location though and not permanent.

We liked Les Chefs and most of the food was good. Our service was good and we enjoyed our dinner there. But that salmon was lacking something. It just didn't have any taste to it. Even DH agreed it was bland.

Day 2 Part Five
I am just itching to tell you all about THIS part of the trip and you are about to find why

After dinner, I wanted to spend some time in the shops in all of the countries, so we moved to Morocco.

I had never been back in the Bazaar. There were lots of neat things to look at.

You see this hat ??? Remember it. We are going to have a conversation about hats here in just a minute.

I loved the tiles and the carvings.

DSC06180.jpg

DSC06183.jpg

DSC06184.jpg

DSC06185.jpg

Next we went to Japan.

DSC06193.jpg

Heres another hat.

DSC06194.jpg

DS bought this Naruto hat. And he loves it.

When we got home about 3-4 days later DS says his head is really itchy. This caught my attention, so I grabbed a comb and we did a head check.

Yep. LICE.

Which he either got from this hat or the other hat above that he tried on in Morocco. DD doesn't seem to have them, so this is what we narrowed it down to. Now every mother out there knows how hard these evil little cooties are to get rid of. He had 3-4 full grown ones in there. But there were tons of nits. We did the shampoo thing and started the long comb out process. After a while and seeing all of the nits I was getting out, DS had had enough. "Just shave it," he said. This wasn't our first rodeo with these little devils, so I asked. "Are you sure?" "Yes," he said, "just get rid of it." So let me remind you of what his hair looks like.

DSC06026.jpg

Here it is. It is super thick, super curly and blonde. It is beautiful stuff.

But when there is cooties present ?? It is a nightmare. So I wasnt too opposed to the shaving idea. I mean it would solve the problem almost immediately. If the lice had nothing to cling to, they wouldn't be present.

So we did it. We shaved it. We bagged all of the hair up and put it out in the trash. We put the shaver in a zip lock bag, washed everything in the house basically and so far, so good. I think we caught it early. Words to the wise - DO NOT TRY ON HATS AT DISNEY !!! Make sure you do a close inspection first !! Learn from my pain.

Here is what he looks like now

photo6.jpg

He really isnt that unhappy about it. And I have no idea what is going on on the TV in the background, but he is fine with it. His hair grows fast and it was HIS decision. I would have combed all night if I had to. But he just wanted to be rid of the whole thing and I can't blame him. Even I have been freakazoid about it and feel like my head is itchy. I keep having DH check, but I think I am being psychotic about it. These thing will really freak you out !! My mom said they used to use kerosene back in the old days. You had your head shaved, girl OR boy and they doused it with kerosene. Yikes. I. Hate. Lice.

Again - DO NOT TRY ON HATS AT DISNEY !!!

Enough of that. Moving on.

He also got this shirt

DSC06221.jpg

And this shirt

DSC06222.jpg

Still in the Japan pavilion. My kids LOVE the gift shop there.

Some more photos

DSC06195.jpg

DD got her some Hello Kitty !!

DSC06196.jpg

We moved on to Italy. Some cool stuff we saw.

Next, we headed over to Germany. It was just about time to hit Karamell Küche. We used some snack credits and got

DSC06211.jpg

Some chocolate covered marshmallows.

And I got

DSC06220.jpg

A salted milk chocolate caramel. Good use of snack credits.

DSC06212.jpg

No cooties from THIS hat.

After that, we were tired and cold and everyone was DONE. So we went back to the Boardwalk. And bed.

DOLE WHIPPPPP. How heavenly!

That root beer float looks so good! I might have to try one.

Periwinkle is so cute! Oh my goodness.

We are going to Le Chefs in August and I’m so excited. The food looks amazing and REMY! That is like the main reason we are going. Mum is DYING to see him.

I LOVE the Bazaar in Morocco. It is so cool!

Oh GOD. LICE?! Now I think I’m going to have to photoshop the fez I always try on in Morocco on me. That is nasty! Now I understand why you were itching to talk about this part of the trip. Nice pun!

I’M DYING LAUGHING. The thing on your TV is a flying dog that was on America’s Funniest Home Videos. :rotfl:

The gift shops in Italy are awesome. I love all of the things there!

Oooooh. Karamell Kuche! So yummy!

We liked it. I thought they only brought Remy out during lunch, so we were pleasantly surprised to see him. The guy that operates him is really funny !!!

It is cool. Perhaps a bit "buggy", but cool

Oh, I am itchy all right !! Ever since we found them, I keep imagining that I have them, too and I feel all itchy and stuff. But after checking my hair twice a day every day, my DH assures me I do not have them. My advice ??? DO NOT TRY ON HATS AT DISNEY !! Or at least check them thoroughly before you do.

I’M DYING LAUGHING. The thing on your TV is a flying dog that was on America’s Funniest Home Videos. :rotfl:

Hahaha. Thanks so much for telling me that. I was wondering what it was !!! Obviously, I was watching that wait for Once Upon A time to come on. I think it is also hilarious that you KNOW that.

The gift shops in Italy are awesome. I love all of the things there!

I do too !! They had all kinds of neat stuff in there.

Oooooh. Karamell Kuche! So yummy!

Yes. Those didn't last long. Not at all. So tasty.

Omg no no no. That's exactly the reason I never try on hats anywhere and I always wonder why people do! It's so gross ughhhhh. I caught lice twice in elementary school and yeah. Just hearing the word makes me paranoid. SO THANKS.

Hahah just kidding. But really, it's a shame that happened. I guess no hats at Disney from now on!

Aren't they just horrible ??? This is our second bout with them, too. They went through our school two years ago. They make me paranoid, too !!

I will tell them to not try them on unless they want lice. That will do the trick, because they are terrified of getting them again.

Oh no, lice! So sorry you had to deal with that. :(

On the bright side that caramel looks really good. I might have to get that in April!

Definitely get the caramel. It was delicious !!

Definitely avoid the lice !!! Ew !!

we have never eaten at Les Chefs but plan to this time so thanks for your review and the photos

I thought ds got the steak.. Dh did.. It looked really good.

I will never put a hat on Anywhere now !! That is my fear... I have done my research when Tricia started school.... I kept washing her hair.. To find out they love clean hair....

Oooohghhhh how I loooooooove the caramel ... I get the same thing but dark chocolate.... Love the salted caramel.
Dh likes to share it with me.... I don't like to share it....

It was and I will order that next time. Certainly better than the salmon.

They do love clean hair, so I don't understand why it is associated with uncleanliness. I read that they don't like oily hair. Either way, I hate them !!!

I love the dark chocolate, too and I have had that before, but I was feeling the milk chocolate that night. I had to share with DH, too. Dang it.

Oh my gosh!!! LIce from the hats?? I have heard of that happening but never from someone I knew!! That is sick! At least it happened to him and not your daughter. I don't think she would have wanted to shave her head!;)

I would not have shaved her head. I would have had to cut it though. It is too long to treat for lice. They are seriously horrible little creatures. They are right up there with roaches and spiders !!

Day 3 – Part One

We got up this morning and headed over to Epcot.

DSC06230.jpg

DSC06231.jpg

DSC06232.jpg

On the way over my scooter started to die. I was pretty sure it got unplugged somehow overnight and didn’t charge enough. We got through the gates at the International Gateway and as we were going up the little hill there into the UK – it died. Right there on the hill. DH noticed an outlet on the side of the gift shop there, so we rolled it down the hill and plugged it in.

Thankfully, I had packed up the cord that morning. So I stayed with the scooter while he and the kids headed over to get Soarin’ fast passes. After that, he took them on Test Track since there wasn’t a huge line yet and then they called me. I was checking e-mail while I was waiting and I thought I had enough power to meet them over at Mouse Gear.

I found an outlet there and decided to walk over to Test Track which wasn’t far.

DSC06238.jpg

We rode single rider and we waited about 15 minutes as the crowds were building – and fast !!

DSC06236.jpg

After that, we rode Mission Space – Green side.

DSC06234.jpg

This is where it finally occurred to me that the camera lens might need cleaning. So, I got a wipe out and cleaned it. Here’s a photo from the same place.

DSC06235.jpg

So basically, two days of photos look horrible because I didn’t think to clean the camera lens. Definitely remembering to do that next time. Photo quality will drastically improve from here ….

DD traded some vinylmations in the gift shop at Mission Space. Here’s what she got.

DSC06233.jpg

Then she was getting hungry so we got her a nutritious Mickey ice cream sandwich.

DSC06237.jpg

I know -- I know -- we are such good parents.

We went back to check on the scooter and it seemed charged enough to get me through the next couple of hours. It was time for our Soarin’ fast passes, so I drove it up the hill and parked it outside with the strollers so I wouldn’t have to bother with the elevator. Thankfully, the escalators were running. I still have trouble with stairs.

DSC02023.jpg

So we rode Soarin’.

DSC02027.jpg

We got front row without even asking – YAY !!

I love that ride !! It is seriously my favorite.

After that, DD wanted to ride Figment

Journey_Into_imagination_with_Figment_entrance_signage.jpg

DH and DS didn’t want to so they went to Mexico to order some food while DD and I rode.

After that, we headed over towards Mexico to get some lunch.

For lunch today we were feeling like Mexican again, so we went back to La Cantina de San Angel. The kids split the plain nachos

DSC06241_zps28cd4d50.jpg

DH had the beef tacos

DSC06239_zps1dd8a401.jpg

And I had the loaded nachos

DSC06240_zps6540e780.jpg

We all got churros for dessert again.

Again, we were all very happy with our food here. We used 3 CS credits for 4 people and had plenty to eat.

I sooo want tacos now !!!! Mmmmmmmmm

I want to try mission earth... But I get motion sickness even on star tours

Good to know that there are so many places where you can plug in and charge a scooter. It's honestly something that I never thought of before, just like the doggie path near Test Track.

Yeah for another ride on Soarin, front row!!!!

I love me some tacos. The nachos were better !!

You would be fine on the Green side Star Tours makes me sick, too, but the green side on Mission Space ?? I am fine. Plus, they have a barf bag if you need it. :rotfl2::lmao:

Yeah for another ride on Soarin, front row!!!!

I never thought about it either .... until I took that trip down the stairs and messed up my ankle three ways to Sunday. But yes, there are outlets everywhere to charge up your phone or scooter or whatever. I am sure they were orginially designed for cleaning purposes, but they come in handy if your DS unplugs your scooter to charge his iPad.

I love me some Soarin' !!! And front row is the BEST !!

I would not have shaved her head. I would have had to cut it though. It is too long to treat for lice. They are seriously horrible little creatures. They are right up there with roaches and spiders !!

DD got lice about a year ago from her cousins who got it from their cousins. It was horrible. My youngest niece has incredibly thick hair. I mean thick. At the time her hair was long. My MIL cut her hair off- short. She loved it and has kept it. My DD on the other hand was a different story. Neither of us could face cutting hers. So there I was all that baby fine hair and comb. It took hours to shampoo and comb.

Every time she picks up a hat anywhere to try on I remind her of her lice experience. So sorry you had to deal with the critters. At least you can shave a boy's head, and it has been contained to him.

But on to more pleasant subjects....

I love spending time in the shops, and other than the shops in Japan and China I rarely get to spend time in any of them. Italy I think I've spent the least time in. I loved those perfume jars you saw in there.

That stinks about your scooter not having juice right off the bat. Happily you were able to make it over to Soarin'. And look at you up walking around the parks. Even for short distances. Woo Hoo!
