You are understood Miranda by those who aren't threatened by the idea that a woman can be "only" a wife or "only" a mother. My legacy will be left in the hearts and minds of my children not in how many loans did I close or how many clients did I have.

Your ambition to someday be a wife and mother is something I hope my own daughters embrace. I have raised them to know this: they can be anything they want to be but if they choose motherhood it should never be overshadowed by anything else! :grouphug: I am a homemaker and I do not work outside of my home and I wouldn't do anything else regardless of my education or opportunity. I am grateful that there are other opportunities but it is discouraging that girls who want to grow up to nurture and raise families are looked down upon. I want my girls to go to college and seek the future that they desire because it is their desire not because of the pressure to fulfill an obligation to all the women libbers of the past. I am grateful for the postive changes that they have made to our society but I can still embrace old fashioned family values and morals without being a backwards uneducated idiot. I find it so interesting that when a conservative idea is expressed it is always shut down so quickly there are heads spinning.

I hate it when a young girl expresses her opinion on a thread that is supposed to be "politically incorrect" to begin with and is laughed at and flamed.

I suppose this is where I say:
I love gay marriage
I love pro-choice
I hate George Bush
I hate illegal aliens
I hate bad drivers

These are the accepted politically incorrect things to say, right? :rolleyes1

Well lump me in with Beattyfamily, Miranda and transparent because I think there acually are things that are right.......and wrong :earseek:
I know-big shocker!!!!!
I wish more people would really examine whether they think something is okay and the whole-DOESN'T AFFECT ME attitude would go away! Grow up!
Babies should be conceived and then given the chance to live. Don't type another "I'm pro-choice" sentence unless you have really done your research about what is legal in this country. If a woman gives birth early to a 24 week fetus and then smothers it she is arrested for murder. If she goes into the clinic to have a "procedure" done which results in the same thing WE CALL IT A CHOICE! Quit using the rape and incest argument. This percentage is almost none existent and abortion is not limited to these situations anyway :confused3 Read about Dr. Tiller in Kansas :guilty:
No frozen embryos!
I think bottling up embryos and freezing them is terrifying.
Why have we grown to a society that no longer can say there is a right and wrong?
The only thing people will say is wrong anymore is PEOPLE SAYING SOMETHING IS WRONG!!!!!
Are there limits to anything?
Can we tell our kids no?
I hate that a 17 year old actress is giving "sexual exploration" advice to the world. Give me a break!
Stop showing soft-porn during commercials for football games.
Modesty-heard of it? Cover up. Let's use our imagination every now and then!
Honestly to whose who are in support of gay marriage- don't you think we should leave what is not broken alone? If we can change this law to include gay couples why should the polygamists be left out? They say they love each other just as much as gay couples do. They are committed to each other (one another?-not sure) and are productive members of society. Can't we allow for gay couples to have legal unions that provide them rights without crossing over into the sanctity of marriage. There are countries far more liberal than the US who refuse to make gay marriage legal. Why do you think that is?

People who are clearly racist or homophobic but refuse to admit it are complete and total idiots. But then again, racism, homophobia, prejudice and bigotry go hand in hand with idiocy so no big surprise there. Oh, sorry to keep it in the same sentiment as this thread, "I hate racists, homophobes and bigots."

What about the ones who are but do admit it, what are they? What about the ones who don't like the state of homosexuality, but have nothing against the actual people themselves (hating the action, loving the person), what are they?

By the way, are you the one on the right or the left of the picture? My guess is you're the one on the left.

The folks that are racists, etc... and admit it are still idiots.

As for those that "don't like the 'state' of homesexuality.... blah, blah", I say get over it. I'm not too thrilled with who you sleep with either.

As for the pic, yep, I'm the cleanshaven guy on the left.

Amen, sister. This may be one of the first posts on the DisBoards that I can say I whole-heartedly agree with in its entirety. I especially like the part about the "accepted" politically incorrect sayings, I think you hit that one on the head really well.

So basically we're wrong if we hate you personally AND b/c of your lifestyle, and we're wrong if we despise ONLY your lifestyle but have no problem with you yourself. That pretty much takes anyone else's opinions and makes them trash, doesn't it?

I have to know who this is.

Evan Rachel Wood-this was on the Comcast home page website.
Most of the movies listed I hadn't seen but I do remember her in The Missing.

Nobody can make your opinions trash. You can only do that for yourself.

What does it matter if someone really, really believes abortion is wrong? They are free to not have one. You can really, really believe that white people shouldn't marry black people, or that gay people shouldn't raise children, or any number of other things that can't be proven or disproven and have no social consensus. And you can believe those things with all sincerity. Maybe you believe with all your heart that gay marriage will be the downfall of civilization. But, even if your heart is genuinely free of hatred (even full of love) towards gays, or blacks, or women, do you really believe you should be able to force your preferences on someone else?

If racism and homophobia are your opinions, then yes, they are trash.

I prefer to look at a person in the way they are kind to others, or make me laugh, etc.

1. Not sure why you would hate me personally, but if you do, no big to me. I suspect you do but again, don't care one bit at all.
2. If you hate my lifestyle, see point #1.
3. Interesting you should choose to use the word "despise" in your post.
4. Why are you ignoring the other half of my post re: racism and only fixating once again on homophobia. I think you need to rediscover what it is you're really and truly saying behind your words.

The hanging curveball over the plate, with a poster from WV referring to "trash", is just too easy, even on a "no-flame, politically incorrect" thread (or at least it started that way).

See I thought it was Lindsey Lohan. I remember reading last months Details magazine and there was an article about her. She said something like being in a reality show if there was sex in it.

:rotfl: Yeah, 'cause Blacksburg is the center of civilization, and North Carolina is "metropolitan". :rotfl:

But that's ok...I can assure you, your opinion of West Virginia means about as much to me as your opinion on anything else.

Have a nice day. :wave2:

How am I forcing my preferences on someone else? Is anyone here being forced to believe the same way I am? I have no way to even do or enforce that. But I can state my opinions, politically incorrect as others might think they are, which seemed to be the basis for this thread, at least I remembered that's how it started.

There is politically incorrect and then there is racist and homophobic.
