Sassy Somethings - Happy November

Happy Monday, hags! What's new? So it's Monday and I am back to work, but ya know what? I don't mind! I love the quiet at 6:00am.

Yesterday I made chocolate chip cookies and they are delish. Ainslee says it's because she helped make them...she's probably right! I packed some up in a tin for Brent to take to work, trying to get in good with his coworkers. :goodvibes

Today it's another trip to the orthodontist, as soon as I get off work. Heather has her consultation (she was at camp last week when the other two went) and Ainslee has to get something done. I have to go back on Thursday for Caitlin to get molds made for her jaw-relocating-apparatus.

Where is everyone lately? :confused3 I miss you hags!

Good morning, Sassies! Rise and Shine! Time to tootle off to practice - who has the Diet Coke? I am in serious need, my friends!

You're talking to the right person! I drink Diet Coke every morning in leiu of coffee. I prefer a fountain drink from McDonald's but this morning I was running late so I have to drink a canned soda. But hey, it'll do in pinch! Here's one for you, Wilma!

Good Morning Sassies!!!

Bonnie I'm glad you had a nice trip. Sometimes those short spur of the moment trips are more fun than the ones we plan.

Busy busy weekend we had over here. Colin's team lost 10 - 9 on Saturday. That means they came in 2nd place for the season (not too bad). :thumbsup2 Yes it was a nailbiter and we were sitting on the edge of our seats. They had a great season, learned a lot and hopefully all had fun. We had the team party after and that explains my no computer time on Saturday.

Yesterday we went to Church, had lunch at Outback, took a walk then pretty much vegged out.

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I missed you guys.

Good morning Sassys! Happy Monday! I have the week off from the twins so we are doing errands this morning. Oil change, post office blah, blah, blah. Then its off to swim practice.

Wilma, we never play Monopoly it seems to frustrate the little people around here. They are more into Twister and Bunco.:confused3

Bonnie, I always make cookies for Brian's coworkers, they love me! Its good pr.

Tricia, sorry that Colin's team didn't finish in first. But I believe you learn more by not winning than by finishing first. It gives them something to stive for later!

Everyone have a great day and I'll see you all later!

We had a good game of Monopoly going on Friday. Kendall got the electronic one for Christmas. It's so cool and up to date. You don't use paper money just a credit card. Instead of $200 for passing go you get 2 million. No more Park Place now it's Disney World. It really is a fun twist to the regular Monopoly. I recommend it if anyone is in the market for a new game.

I never play Monopoly. That game never ends! But Tricia, that newfangled version sounds interesting. I might have to give it a whirl!

Now that is a Monopoly they could get into. Its the money that bugs them the most. I may have to check it out while at Walmart having my oil changed. Thanks Tricia!

I haven't left yet, so what do you need? It will take me a few day to drive them to you. Would Wednesday be okay? I have to be back by Friday for Chicago.

That's it. Did you get my list in time? One of my former students stopped in to visit me so I couldn't reply sooner. I miss that little fella.

Becca, please add some patience to that list, for me please.

Tricia, Tell Colin I'm impressed. 2nd is wonderful.

Angie, Heather any luck on the job front? Red, brings money. Light a red candle.

Julie, any more sleep, or does Atlas need a little more help. Maybe Jas (Heather's dog) could have a little chat with him.

Toot, what, no sunburn pictures? Might help us with the sunscreen, bug spray battle up here.

Mrs. FoP thanks for the info on The Donald. Now I'll just call him the nebesch.
Bought the powder, will cram down throat if needed. Please see sentence #1.

Good afternoon Somethings..

Just a quick drive by post to let you know what is happening. So far no news on the job front. I really need some good news soon.

I am just getting home and am so tired I can barely see straight. Joey was in the hospital all day yesterday and had to spend the night. They almost kept him again, but decided he had made enough improvemnet he could go home. He was suffering from severe dehydration.....possibly from taking in too much water from the hot tub.:( I swear that hot tub is nothing but trouble.

I don't understand how he could get so sick so fast. The other night he was fine, but yesterday morning he was so lethargic I was freaking out. You know Joey....he is not a sit still kind of kid.:worried: He kept dozing back off and just laying down right after he got up yesterday. We took him to urgent care and they sent us to the ER. They admitted him to watch him and give him fluids.

The nurses had a hard time waking him up to give him some juice. He had thrown up earlier and they wanted to see if he would hold something down. That was before I knew they were going to keep him. And even when he was awake he was jsut sitting there in bed, not even trying to get up or get into anything.:faint:

His lab work still wasn't completely normal but was much improved. We ahve to go back to the doctor on Thursday for a recheck and some more bloodwork.

On the plus side, he is up and running today. Mom took Kate to Walmart to get some more pedialyte and some other juices. I htink I am going to set up a chart to track what the kids are drinking. I feel like they drink alot, but obviously I was wrong somewhere. I don't want any more dehydrated kiddos.

Sorry this is so long.....it was a very nerveracking 31 hours....only 2 of which I was able to sleep through:worried:

Hey, hags! Just home from errands and a trip to the orthodontist! Yep, Heathers is going to be as expensive as we thought. :scared1: So now we have appts scheduled throughout the summer. Good thing I am only working three hours each morning or I'd never be able to do it! We got tickets for the $1 kid movies on Wed, stopped at Ulta and got me the hot pink leopard print Chi flat iron, and then we had lunch at Taco Bell. I'm pooped!

Ok, it was hot dog day at the orthodontist's office. They were serving hot dogs, chips and soda to all the patients and families. But the best? Dr. Hart had a gigantic hot dog hat that he was wearing when he was seeing his patients! My kids were rolling! He even sat down at the picnic table and ate a hot dog with my girls. He's really a nice man.

Becca, are you back from Walmart with my goods yet? :confused3

Angus, where the heck are you today?

Hey! We had chili yesterday! I made mine in the crock pot though. I'll taste test yours, hag! I'm always up for some chili with sour cream and cheese on top! Mmmmm!

Becca, please add some patience to that list, for me please.

Oh no, Heather!! What a harrowing ordeal, lady! I'm glad Joey is feeling a little better today. Get some sleep, girl! Take care of yourself!

Heather~how scary!!! I'm sure glad he seems to be doing better. I hope you get a chance to take a nap. They think he swallowed too much hot tub water?? I had no idea that could cause dehydration.

Hi Judi! No news on the job hunt yet. It's really starting to get me down, but I'm trying to hang in there. I take it Mom isn't being cooperative today? :worried:

Becca~are you excited for Friday?? You guys are gonna have so much fun, and I bet you will be exhausted! Try and talk them into Bubba Gump's-the view is so pretty! :hippie:

Wilma~we watched Jumper this weekend. I didn't really like it. The funny thing is that was the in-flight movie on my way to Chicago, but I didn't watch it. But DH wanted to see it so we put it on our Netflix queue. Yesterday we got into that When We Left the Earth series on History or Discovery. It's really good. It was on for 8 hours, though, we Tivo'd most of it. I've never heard of Be Kind, Rewind?? :confused3

Bonnie~I got a little sunburned in the pool yesterday myself. I know it's really bad for your skin, but it just doesn't feel like summer without a sunburn-KWIM? Sorry I haven't been on MSN lately. Now I'm in the middle of New Moon and won't be able to stop 'til I'm done. Chili quiz-beans or no beans? I prefer no beans, but hubby likes beans so I usually put pinto beans in. Me no likey kidney beans-YUCK! :sad2:

Tricia~yay for Colin's team! They almost won, and 2nd is fantastic! I hope he's not too bummed. Electronic Monopoly sounds fun-I may have to invest in one of those. :thumbsup2

Julie~I have confidence that Atlas will learn to sleep in. Does he make it all night, or do you have to get up and take him out? Those 2 am potty walks stink! :(

Well I'd better get back to work! See ya!

Heather, glad Joey is doing better. popsicles, kool-aid, water w/o the scotch;) . Keep him drinkin and watering that slide.

Toot, you are such a spoil-sport.

I'm thrilled you got an ortho that the girls like. Can we have a hot-dog hat picture instead.

Girl, I haven't been chattin on MSN lately either! Waking up at 4:00am is kicking my **** and I've been going to bed earlier. We need to plan a chat again soon though, I miss you hags! It's fun being booked at CBR! :cool1:

I hope you ordered Eclipse already so it doesn't take forever to arrive! :rotfl2:

I'm engrossed in a book right now too. I spend a LOT of time outside reading my book and laying in the hammock. :thumbsup2

Heather I'm so sorry that Joey ended up in the hospital. Glad to hear that he is up and running around. I'm still hoping

that Scott will hear something real soon on the job front.

Judi what's with the chickens in the sink? I'm sure there must be a story behind it.

Howdy, ladies! Heather - you poor thing - and poor Joey! Dehydration is a scary thing, isn't it? To see little kids so lifeless can be frightening. No more hot tub for him! That heat really saps it out of them, before they know what is happening. Your heat is brutal, too - which makes it all the more difficult. Will he drink Propel? It has less sugar (which can actually be dehydrating) than Gatorade, maybe you can get the kids to drink it on the really scorching days. Unless he's okay with Pedialyte, then I would stick with that. Hope things get better soon!

Judi - Is mom not digging the protein powder shake thing? I'm praying for your patience, girlfriend!

Angie - Be Kind, Rewind is a Jack Black movie (a detail that DH concealed from me until we began watching it.:rolleyes1 ). I Tivo'd When We Left Earth too - I hope it's a good one. At the swim meet yesterday I was talking to another lady who was officiating the meet with me and her husband had just lost his job on Monday. Things are tough everywhere - hang in there:hug:

Bonnie - I've always wanted one of those hot dog hats! Do you think you can sneak it out of the ortho's office for your dear friend Wilhelm?

Tricia - I hope Colin was not upset about the game - second in the league is not too shabby!:)

Becca - have you found out what a helicoil thingy is? If not, what were you doing all day Saturday? Eating bonbons and watching Oprah in the hardware store? How is the swim season going for the boys?

Hi Julie and Kimmy! Who's been to the Pie Hole lately? Linus and I are off to the acupuncturist. He's been quite saggy lately in the heat - maybe we can get him rejuvenated. Someone needs to invent portable airconditioning units for the collies of the world.

See ya'll later!

I forgot the fantastic thing that happened this weekend. We live in a subdivision with small lots (we paid extra for a 10,000 sq ft lot, so that tells you how small most of them are!). Anyway, our neighbors behind us erected a huge and hideous playset that hulked over the fence and was hideous to look at (it had flags with stripes and a big green tarp). The main problem was the platform the kids could climb up on-because of the small lot it was really close to the fence and they could see directly into our backyard, kitchen, living room and master bedroom. We really felt like we had NO privacy when they were up there playing. The kids would yell at us in the pool, and constantly bark at our dogs to try and make them bark back-it was HELL!! I complained to the HOA, but they claimed they were within regulations. Anyway, Saturday morning we see this huge moving truck headed to the street behind us. We were thinking should we even begin to hope that it could be for them?? Guess what...IT WAS!!! They moved out. And the best part is............................................................................................

THEY TOOK THE PLAYSET WITH THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOHOO!!! We have our privacy back! :cool1:  :dance3: :yay: We get excited by the simplest things-yes we are dorks! But who wants kids staring over the fence into their house all the time??? OK-thanks for letting me share my excitement.

HI ladies.

I've had a couple hours of sleep and now I feel almost human again. I was so tired that I kept yawning and had trouble actually going to sleep. Weird.

I think the doctors are thinking that he swallowed the water from the hottub and the chemicals in it helped dehydrate him and the fact that is is so hot outside. The temp of the hottub is only about 90 degrees right now. I have been keeping it shaded and sometimes if it gets above 95, I add ice to the water to keep the temp down. Joey is enjoying wearing a swim mask and putting his head under the water.....he has come up sputtering more than once

Joey is perfectly happy drinking pedialyte right now so for him that is what I am doing. I bought Gatorade for the girls....I haven;t thought about Propel. I will have to look into getting that next time....the kids certainly don't need any extra sugar.....they are sweet enough as it is;)

The nurses all thought Joey was adorable....which of course he is::yes::
