I don't hear much about SSR pools. Can anyone tell me anything about them, or have pictures they could share? I thought I heard they got a brand new pool this summer, but have never seen pictures, or heard anything. We are considering this for an April trip. Otherwise we might go with WL.

Thank you!!:)

It should have everything you need!

There are 2 featured pools now - one in the Springs area, behind the Carriage House, and one in the Paddocks area. We didn't try the Paddocks one, but the slide looks really cool! The Springs has a nice slide, and is zero entry. We also enjoyed the quiet pool in the Grandstands, which is not zero entry but does have a cute play area for kids.

my kids loved the pool area this summer when we went. they would beg to go to the pool instead of the park (DS 8 DD 12) they have a water slide, poolside games, game room (with free games like ping pong ect), movie by the pool at night and roasting marshmallows.

All of the pools are great. The Paddock pool is newer, but we actually like the "old" Grandstand pool area better.

All the pools are great! You didn't say how old your kids are. That would help to determine which pool might appeal to them more. I would probably go to the new pool they have a great snack bar, gradual entry into the pool and slide. But if you are staying at the resort you can try them all.

We have stayed at both resorts many times. In terms of pools, SSR pools win IMO hands down!

I was there (first time) in October. I thought the main pool was a little small and it did not have a deep end. The hot tubs were DIVINE.

Thank you everyone so much! The people on this board are always so nice and helpful!:thumbsup2 We will be going with our DGD ages 3 and 6, so what pool would be better, and what building should we request? We like to be in the center of all the action, and near the pool and most importantly the bus!

My daughter loves the new Paddock pool. We couldn't keep her off the slides.

THe wife and I miss the quiet pool there a bit, but now that we have a kid, we wouldn't get to use it at night anyway. We always stay out in the Paddock area.

The Grandstand section has a really cool water play area for the kids but the pool isn't zero entry. But they are the first bus stop pick up going to the parks and the first drop off coming home from the parks. That is a huge plus for us personally. You are also less than a 10 min walk to the main pool in the Springs section & the main building with the food & boat to DtD.

Congress Park is walking distance to DtD with a really nice quiet pool.

The Paddocks have a great new pool that is zero entry with a nice water play area for the kids along with quick service dining. I'm not sure what order this section falls for bus pick up.

The Springs section is in the middle of it all, the food, main pool, spa, community hall, etc. But it's the last bus stop pick up. So, the bus may have no seats left by the time it gets there or may already be full and pass you by. We have seen this happen but that also depends on time of year, time of day and park.

The best part of SSR is you can use any of the pools and you have great ones to choose from no matter what section you are staying in. The quiet pool at Congress Park has the best views of DtD! Anyway, if I were you, I would pick the Grandstand section.

Have a great time! We are DVC members and SSR is one of our home resorts and we love it!
