Greetings Everyone - I know this has no relevance to the Podcast, but as this is where I hang out I thought I would share. Last night my cat passed away. He had lived a full, full life. I got him from an animal shelter near Chicago in 1991 between college and grad school. He had been around with me even before I married my wife in 1995. He was always my pet, and would spend the most time with me. Last night he put me to bed as always - jumped off the bed, and I think had a heart attack or stroke. I was able to be with him when he died, and stroke and pet him during his last moments. Thanks for listening.

I'm so sorry Dave, at least he had a full and happy life, I have a pet and don't want to think what I'd do if he dies, so I'm sending lots of Pixie Dust pixiedust: , and remember every moment you had with him, he will be watching you from cat's heaven ;)

 I'm so sorry for your loss. :sad1:

ohh.. I'm so sorry to hear this. Our pets really become a part of our family don't they? At least you were there with him in his last moments.. I still feel terrible because I didn't have the courage to be with our family dog when they put him to sleep... I just couldn't do it and had to sit out in the car outside of the vets office. It makes me cry thinking about him being all alone in there... (ok, about to tear up!).. anyway.. I'm sorry for your loss. I'm sure he was a wonderful, loving cat.

Oh No. I am so sorry for your loss. I am dealing with my doggie having cancer. It is so hard. I hope it gets easier as the days pass.

So sorry to hear your sad news. I know that a pet is just like a part
of the family. :flower3:

Pixiedust and prayers to you. The loss of a furbaby :cat: is devastating - they are a family member. Find comfort in knowing that you gave the little guy a loving home and a great life and you saved him from a shelter. I lost a few furbabies over the years and it's never easy but it gets better over time. :grouphug: Group hug from all of us here on the podcast board.

I am so terribly sorry for your loss.

My kitty left us last summer...it's actually been just about one year now. She'd been with me since 1993 and was just an old, fat cat! Dusty waited for us to return from our vacation and just a few days later, she had passed. We aren't sure if she had some kind of stroke or heart failure but she passed on the way to the vet's office. I was a mess...

 It's not easy...hang in there...

I'm so sorry for your loss.

I have 2 elderly cats right now, and I'm at the stage of "enjoy 'em while you have 'em". Lots of cuddle time. I'll be very sad when they leave.

Sorry to hear that Dave

I'm very sorry to hear about your furbaby.

Dave,

Anyone who has ever owned a beloved pet knows the pain you're feeling now. I'm so sorry about the loss of your friend and companion. Try to remember all the good days you had together. In time, maybe you can find some room for a new little friend.

oh so sorry :(

Thankfully he knew how much you loved him and you were able to say good bye!

Oh, I'm so sorry. I think it is wonderful that he had you by his side, it had to be a great comfort.
:grouphug:

I am so sorry about your cat. As much as mine annoys me at times I would be devastated if she died. I think cats allow you to stroke them when they are about to leave us to give us comfort and for us to comfort them.

I am a cat person also...I am so sorry for your loss. He knows you were with him at the end and brought comfort to him. My kitty sends you a kitty hug!
