Back in Feb. of this year my cat of 15 years passed away while I held her. Not sure what happened she stopped eating for a few weeks then just died. I was sad and still am. I hope you feel betetr soon it's hard because it's liie part of the familey. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

My sympathies are with you also. We too have an elderly cat and I pray we will be able to be there when it is her time. I hope it is of some comfort to have been able to have said goodbye to your furbaby. Giving homes to shelter pets is such a kind, loving thing to do. Thank you so much for that.

Thank you everyone for your kind thoughts and sympathies. It's been a tough year for deaths in our family, and it seems a little trivial to be so upset about our cat passing. But he had been a part of our family for a long time. I've had him just about half of my life, and we've been through a lot. He was a good friend, and I was glad I could be there with him when he passed. I was out of town so much in July, and I would have been devastated if he passed away while I was gone. He'll definitely be missed. Thanks so much for all your support.

I'm so sorry...there's nothing like losing your innocent friends....

I'm still very sad about Frosty (kitty), Licorice (kitty), and Sami (dog - hardest friend I've EVER lost) to name a few...

I always think...I'm done...can't do it anymore -- too hard to go through the devestation of loss...then I'm struck with a new baby who needs me...can you imagine life without these wonderful critters???

I'm so sorry to hear about your kitty. We had to put down our two kitties within 3yrs of each other after them being with us for almost 12 yrs.

Just when you think you'll never love another pet the same way, one will come along...we just saved a 5yr old male from the county animal shelter and he is the most smooshy, loving cat. We stopped in on a whim, something must have been calling us there...hope you find another friend soon...share your love!

Thanks again everyone. I really appreciate all the support and understanding. I'm doing OK, and the family's doing OK. We just have heavy hearts this weekend. Everytime I look around I expect Ben (our cat) to be there.

Update, I only have a couple minutes to post before I run to a meeting. However, I wanted to post some news. We have a new family member.

Welcome, Mr. Rocky Road (Rocky for short). We go with ice cream names - Ben & Jerry were our last cats.

Some of you may remember that my cat (Ben) of almost 20 years died this past August. Well, it was finally time to go out and find a new family member. We adoped him on Monday from a cat rescue agency, he's about 4 months old, and he's very snuggly.
