Anyone had room service for breakfast while at VWL? probably a stupid question, but do we just call? (And if so how long the wait?) or is there a tag to hang on the door the night before and what is th latest it can be put out?

Thanks!

I wish I had all your answers but I don't. I can tell you that there is "Miss Jenny's In-Room Dining" and you do get a list on your kitchen table, but I've never paid any attention to it because we buy breakfast food to make ourselves. I would assume it's like any room service at WL, you can request a delivery time for breakfast and you'll get it. That's only an assumption, of course.

We never did breakfast, but for room service dinner one time we just called down. Didn't take long at all to arrive. One thing to be aware of is they automatically add the 15% gratuity to the bill. I didn't examine the bill until later and tipped the delivery person another 15%.

Thanks for the heads up about the tip. This will be a quick anniversary trip and that morning we want to do the Keys Tour. i thought room service breakfast would be nice. :)
Just wondering if with breakfast you have to put out a hanging tag on the door by a certain time as we'll probably have a late night out before.

My Mom treated us to breakfast room service this past December. We each ordered what we wanted and it was different things so then we ate a little off of each plate. There was plenty of food and it was very good. It didn't take long, the person that delivered it came in, cleared off the table, set it up for us and everything. Now, my Mom paid with cash so we didn't have the problem with the 15% being added. I would still tip the person if they were good like the lady we had.

Hope you get to enjoy your room service breakfast.

I am surprised the person took the additional tip then - they should have refused it and advised that the gratuity was already included!

At BWV/BCV we could call and set a time range for breakfast to arrive or leave the door tag out as well - sorry cannot remember the time cutoff for leaving the tag

Here is a link to the WL/VWL in room dining:

Well, that thought did cross my mind, but live and learn.

Thanks for the link Jason.

Here's what is says -
(18% service charge, sales tax and $3.00 delivery charge
will be added to the total order)

Still don't know about a cut off time to put the tag out.

Tammy, did you call that morning and it was delivered shortly then?

Yes, we did call that morning and it seems if my memory is working tonight that it took maybe 45 minutes at the most. Almost like waiting for a pizza to be delivered here at home. It was a very relaxing morning, eating breakfast in our PJ's. My children and DH had never had room service, so it was a special treat for them as well.

We had a range from the eggs, bacon, grits to pancakes and french toast. It was all good and my MIL is pretty picky about the way her eggs are cooked and she enjoyed it.
