OK cute story off cruise topic but fun - We went to the zoo today . The little spider monkeys were so not interested in anything or anyone until they saw it.... du da da ... a DOG !!!! A big yellow labrador named Denver. They spotted him as he spotted them and he laid quietly wantching them as they sat with their little monkey hands pressed against the net watching him and trying to figure him out . We started to walk away and they ran as fast as they could to the other side of the enclosure just to get a last look of him ... we stopped again and let them watch each other for a while longer and then we left... I will post pics as soon as my niece sends them from her camera phone and i can figure out how to DL them here .

On a non Denver note.... What did everyone decide about sitting together and trying to link ressies???? Im game if someone wants to sit with us it is just me and mary and Denver ( under the table ) so send me a PM and lets figure it out we r late seating .

I have decided to do something new for my costume. I shall... *drum roll* sew it myself. Now hear the shrieks of horror and despair ROFL

Seriously though... I have had this sewing machine for nearly 3 years now, the poor thing sits in my closet since I got it for a bargain on a black Friday sale. I tried to use it but I gave up waaay too easy:

"Uhhh... so where does the thread go? Hmmm... meh, too complicated, I wonder what's on TV?" (Yes... I am ADD)

So I was inspired by my favorite Disney princess, Aurora and decided I could make an easy outfit based on Briar Rose... yeah... easy... . I looked all over the web and found several photos from people that actually made their own. A sample

I have to find a bunch of patterns and mash them together... plus use the machine . I have a back up plan juuust in case this doesn't fly, I bought another pattern that I can just make, it is more of a fantasy gown like Lord of the Rings, not Disney themed, but I think I can do this if I put my mind to it... if not... well you might hear it on the 11 o'clock news

BTW I think we are all up for linking ressies, will talk with DH and see if he would like it, but I am sure he will, I'll send a PM as soon as possible.

I logged on to the 'reservations' section of the Planning Center in the Disney cruise website last night around mightnight ET - I was looking to see how many days away we were from booking excursions.

How shocked do you think I was when the website said I had no cruise reservations?!?

I typed in those 8 little numbers another 4 or 5 times, expecting the computer to eventually recognize them. No help from the reservation agents - every other sane person was asleep by then therefore the telephone center was closed. At that point, I just gave up and went to bed... no visions of sugarplums last night.

Nine long hours later - yes, even in sleep - I called, armed with every transaction number and name I have. Whew! A Disney agent made my morning by confirming the reservation was still there and got my information to show up back in the on-line system. Yeah! We're 'back' on the cruise.

Even though we were never 'off'.

That will teach me to stay in on a Saturday night! I hope that is as exciting as my cruise gets.

I know what you mean. I made our reservations through DVC member services. Apparently the reservation number that they give you and the reservation number from DCL is different. I figured that out myself when I initially tried to log in and check about three months after we booked.

I would have DIED if i couldnt find my ressie !!!!!! Oh my gosh i would have been so worried ESPECIALLY if the ressie was paid for . i think we can start reserving for shore excursions in august sometime *if this is your 2nd cruise or later * i am debating doing the kayaks or pedal boats in CC . Anyone ever do the boats etc? how about snorkeling in CC ??? I need some excursion feedback ! I did the Sea Lion encounter in Nassau last year it was cool and bec not many people book it , it was just me and mary so we got a VERY private meet and greet with the sea lion and got a lot of time !!!!

BobandLee- Yes Denver will have time to just kick back on the cruise after all this is a vacation for him too !!!! I will have to call special services and see if there is an area I can let him off leash other than deck 7 aft *Secret deck * i am a worry wart and am so afraid he will get wound up and POOF over the rail he will go , but the reality folks Denver DOSENT get woundup LOL He could care less about playing really and he isnt much of a people person - He is very focused on me BUT if we do have some play time /area I will let you know and whoever wishes can come play and love on him , I will bring his special treats and you can feed them to him - THEN he will be interested in youLOL LOL LOL He is a Labbie and labs love FOOD !!!!!!

Oh and when it gets closer we definately need to do the Bananna countdown !!!! On my last cruise we started counting banannas ( days ) about 1 month or 30 banannas before our cruise !!!! I know it is kinda lame but it was fun to come see everyones banannas dancing every day !!!!!

wilma- who have we got confirmed that we have herd from for FEs ??? Perhaps we need to re arrange the list for those we know we for sure are having participate and then the remainders we can divy up between the groups and hope to hear from them ????? Im planning on doing stuff for those i know are participating then if others who say they wanted to participate ( who r in my group ) and didnt make contact back im just gonna do something generic for them like candy and some trinket thats not something i made ?????? What do you all think about doing something like that ? I hate to leave others out just because they havent been back on since the initial contact you know?

BTW, Wendy, I've been meaning to PM you - I'm having a little trouble with your image that you created for the Hallowonders - when I try to open it in Photoshop, it has a black background and so any of the black bits of the image are not visible. Am I doing something worng?

No, I think it is my method for saving the figures to file that is the issue.

I have had a problem when saving files as JPEG-format that would subsequently open with a black background after saving it. This occurred when the figure background was 'blank' instead of solid white. Unfortunately, I only have alittle experience with Photoshop a few years ago, so I don't know if the same thing is occurring with these GIF-type files and that software. Does anyone else have any experience with this?

The cruise figures were saved with 'blank' backgrounds and as GIF-type files in an attempt to avoid this issue. I threw the figure together quickly in Powerpoint (yes, evil Microsoft, I know!) but I could resave them with white backgrounds to post again OR PM the PPT file to you for you to cut from. I think either of these options could be a successful workaround. Do you have a preference? Anyone else have a solution to offer?

alyssa is so excited... she keeps asking me to explain all about the ship... i've shown her pictures from my last cruise and we already know we want to snorkel on Castaway... and she wants to see a show on the ship.

has anyone ever 'swam with the dolphins' on Nassau? Alyssa wants to do it, but I was wondering how it was.....

We paid off our cruise as well, only a few more days until we can book any excursions, although we are still very much undecided as to whether we will. I really fancy the Segway tour at Nassau but DH doesn't want to do it and I don't fancy it on my own.
