Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Smooth or Bumpy?

I'm considering Rock 'n' Roller Coaster for the first time. I was afraid to try it when I was in my 20s and 30s because I had some recurring neck problems and was worried about throwing my neck out.

But I haven't had a problem in a long time, and I'm thinking of trying it. How would you compare it to Expedition Everest or Space Mountain?

I find Expedition Everest to be a very smooth ride, but found that Space Mountain, even after being redone, was too bumpy for my taste (to the point that I don't plan to ride it anymore).

Thanks!

It's definitely a big coaster, but more on the smooth side.

It's not nearly as bumpy as space mountain. I think it's one of the smoother "fast" coasters I've been on, especially for one with inversions.

If you are OK with EE, RNR is a go. I'm not fond of space mountain (unless I'm at DL). Its much rougher IMO.

Not sure I will do Space Mountain again this year because it messed up my back in 2006 - but I still rode RnR and plan to do that ride as many times as possible!! :woohoo: Disappointed to hear that Space Mountain is still a rough ride after refurb done. :sad1:

I also have neck issues and I rode RnR without any problems. I haven't done Space Mountain or EE because they looked like there isn't much head/neck support. For that matter, I haven't done Splash Mountain or BTMR because I'm not convinced I won't get whipped around in some manner.

This coaster is one of my favorites. As others have said, it's a pretty smooth ride. One piece of advice -- because it has a wicked take-off. You should make a conscious effort to push your head back and keep it on the headrest during the initial take-off. After that, you should be good to go. It's great fun!

Thank you! I think I will give it a try.

It is months before we will be going, but it's never too soon to plan!:goodvibes

Very smooth, but there are abrupt changes of attitude and speed (the launch, for example).

You'd do well to keep your head pushed back against the headrest.

It's a sweet ride!! I can't handle Space Mountain anymore. I feel like I get beat up on that.

You do want to avoid the last 3 or 4 cars on RnR though because any time I sit there both of my ears take a beating with side to side movement against the restraint. You don't get that in the rest of the cars, just the back. It's brutal back there on your neck.

Second that--I have never been on a coaster with shoulder restraints that didn't bounce your head like a ping-pong ball.
That said, it's incredible how much Space Mountain bounces you around, considering it's only going 28 miles an hour. That's tortoise-like for a roller coaster. RnRC does 60--and gets to it from a standing stop in 2.8 seconds, which is respectable for any coaster anywhere, and is much smoother to boot.
