Aloha!

There will be a tax increase from 11.5% to 12.5% for stays beginning 9/1/06. We just booked yesterday for 04/25/07-05/04/07 and were wondering Will We Have To Pay The Difference?

I'm no expert but I am guessing yes you are gonna have to pay the difference this is a state increase not a Disney increase.

I think you have answered your own question. The increase is for stays after September 1. Your stay is well after September 1 so you would have to pay the higher tax rate.

we bought a package for September 27-October 4, and just made the final payment. I'm assuming we won't have to pay anything above what we've already paid.

I have an email into my TA to find out if we will have to pay the difference if we've already paid for the package.

That's why i'm returning on 8/31/06. :rotfl: However my MVMCP will be a different story. :guilty:

If your hotel is located in Orange County you will pay the extra tax even on paid in full package. You most likely will be charged when you check in. Some agencies are collecting it beforehand.

Is the rate increase for just the resort portion of a package, or will the tickets also be taxed at the higher rate? We are traveling Sept 23-30 and have paid our package in full.

You will not pay an increase if your PACKAGE reservation was already paid in full and you make no changes to it. If you make changes, or if your reservation was NOT paid in full (packages) then the 1% increase will be added to your package total. If you have a room only reservation the increase will be added and will be paid at check in.
The All Star Resorts will not be affected by this change as they are not in Orange County (and their rate is already at 13%)

Thanks, Sue Ellen, for the clarification.

Yup, heard from my TA that we will not need to pay the increase as we had already paid our package in full.
