Ok, this may sound like a dumb question...but I've been wondering, We plan on doing some resort hopping on our next visit to see where we might like to stay on the following trip. What I'd like to know, is it ever possible to check out what the rooms are like? I know not if the resort is full, but if there are empty rooms are you ever allowed to take a peek at what your accomodations would be like? thanks

They used to do that..but the last times we've asked, they have taken out a book to show us pictures (AK and FW). They said they would have to send staff with us, and they couldn't do it. It was a dead time too. Maybe that's the key..if they have the staff to show the rooms.

That's kinda what I figured. Thanks. guess it won't hurt to ask, but I won't be expecting a peek. :)

I think your chances would be best during the day rather than at night. We inquired about seeing a suite at the AKL and the front desk CM was very sweet. She told us that they would love to show us the suite, but that they don't have a large enough staff at night to send someone to show it to us. She did show us a book with photos though.

Thank you, most of our exploring will be done during the day as we will have DS's in tow with us. I am really looking forward to checking out some of the other resorts. We have never had much of a chance to do this on previous trips.

You may get lucky one day. My parents were at the GF one day & a housekeeper was making up a room for a new guest. They asked if they could take a peak & she let them see it.

I don't know if this is "legal", but they said she was very nice about it & didn't seem worried that she would get in trouble.
