Reservation Question (wait lists)

I have booked my first reservation for March 2006. I was able to get 4 out of 5 nights confirmed, but the 5th night I'm on a wait list (with automatic confirmation). I know that calling to check wait list status is discouraged and that MS will contact you if it comes thru. However, I read on the member site that MS will not contact you if you ask for automatic confirmation, which I did.

How will you know if your wait list with auto-confirmation came thru? Do you just wait for the reservation confirmation to come in the mail?

Yep, you sit and wait!! And it will drive you nuts. I did that with my upcoming trip in late Nov. I'm waitlisted for my entire 4 nights at BWV. I already have BCV, so I go anyway. Just want to be at BWV. I head out to the mailbox every day in hopes of seeing that confirmation from MS telling me I have BWV. Hang in there..it will most likely come through for you!

My wait list is at the BWV too (Std View Studio). I'm 7 months out so I should have a good shot. I actually had 2 nights wait listed, but I was calling day-by-day to add on nights and they told me that one of them had come thru (in only 1 day).

Guess I'll just get in wait mode...

Someone posted that they always sign up for auto-confirmation, but then they always ask MS to give them a "courtesy call" when it comes thru. You might call MS back to see if they can do this for you.

It's truly a "sit idly by and wait" situation! We were waitlisted at either BCV or VWL for our November weekend, and lo and behold...one day there was a confirmation in the mail! DH was glad it came because he was tired of me knocking him down to get to the mail box every day!
