Our friends are considering back-to-back Wonder cruises and asked a question I can't answer. Would appreciate hearing from someone here who has been on them.

Do you have to get off the ship between cruises and wait in the terminal or do they allow you to stay on perhaps waiting in the ships's lobby area?

Thank you for your help.

You stay on the ship, you stay in the same room even....or that's what friends did on the cruise we were on, which they extended another week. They just warn you that there are no services for a certain period of time (a few hours while they transition from debarking to embarking).

We are doing back to back cruises in May, and what DCL told us is that you do have to leave the ship for a few minutes (go to the terminal and fill out the second week's paperwork) and then they take you right back on the ship.

Your luggage, belongings etc stay on the ship and you're back on the ship within a couple of minutes (legally, I think you have to touch American soil for Immigration purposes... I'm not really sure).

Hope this helps!

We are doing back to backs in Sept/Oct and we were told that we could stay on the ship the whole time and check in for the 2nd cruise at Guest Services. It seems there may be different ways of handling back to backers, but I was told for sure we would need to leave our stateroom so the host could do a good clean. We just plan on doing a whole lotta laundry on deck 6 during the transition.

The only reason that I can think of for the difference is that we are Canadians... maybe that's why we would have to get off the ship and you wouldn't???

WHo knows, I'm going to be on the Magic for two whole weeks... a couple minutes either way is nothing compared to the fun we'll be having :)

Back to back cruises!!! If I only had the time and the money!!! Envious of you but also happy for you as I know you are going to have such a great time. Pixie dust your way to have a great time and great weather. - Mike

Last year we did back to back on the Magic. We were told we would have to get off of the ship and wait in line with everyone else to get back on. However, when the day came we were informed that customs would allow us to stay on the ship. We simply had to go to the front desk to "check in" again. We were informed that there would be no services so we did our laundry. Our teenage son was sleeping in the room - he stayed out a little too late knowing that we would be staying on the ship. We simply asked our room steward to provide clean towels. We didn't need the room cleaned for the morning. They clean it while we are at dinner anyway. The point is, we were under the impression that it is up to customs as to whether or not people are allowed to stay on the ship.

Thank you all for your responses. Back-to-back Magic cruises sound awesome!

Have a wonderful time one and all. :boat:

Wow! Back to back cruises! Do you get any discounts doing that??

No discounts, I am afraid to say. That is why we chose the least expensive season to go in......

Pray for no hurricanes:scared1: !!!

We were on the Magic (Jan. 31st and Feb. 7th cruises)... We were able to stay on the ship the entire time. We are Canadians so we had to pick up our passports when everyone was going through the disembarkation process. Then we went for breakfast, and back up to our room. There are no services between 9:00 a.m. and noon. We had the laundry room to ourselves, so I did all of our laundry at once (used all the machines, was done in an hour). At 11:00 we went to Guest Services and checked back in. Being *alone* on the ship is really neat. It is an excellent time to wander around the ship and take pictures...

We were staying in a category 6 but were upgraded to concierge service the second week. I think this is because we were on back to back cruises... We also received a bottle of wine from DCL welcoming us back (and we got the Castaway Club gift for both weeks).

It was wonderful, and just the right length of time ... we also requested our same servers for both weeks (the only downside is we were REALLY sad when we had to leave them after the second week)....

Have fun!!
