I wouldn't reuse them, BUT when we bought our mugs at Pop in April the cashier specifically told us they were good for refills "for life." Her words, in responce to my husband's question ensuring they were good for the whole week we were there. There were many, many, many people using what were obviously very old mugs, from many different resorts and I never saw anyone stop them. I'm not saying it's right, but it would seem that most people here care more about it than Disney does.

Actually I didn't mean to say that because common sense would say they are good at all the resorts, minus Coronado Springs because the mugs are the same design. If WDW did not want guests to use their mugs at different resorts then they would have gone back to the resort logo mugs.

Sorry, common sense would tell me that the sign posted on the refill station where the mugs were bought was the rule and not because Disney didn't change the mugs to individual resort mugs. Your logic is faulty.

The only Reason I care is just like my Company, Disney gets to a point where it effects them just a little bit and then they just cut the entire program.

So rather then going after the Few that don't abide by the Rules ,they just effect everyone by doing away with it. This way they don't have to alienate anyone and call them out right then and there.

I do have some Mugs that have nothing on them , Mugs with Not refillable at the Parks or Resorts(these were SSR when it first opened),Mugs that state for length of Stay at Resort, and I just gave away my last Mug with just the Length of Stay on it.

Id love to hear more about the mugs! Every year on our trips I buy a glass coffee mug as a souvie, a little Mickey makes my mornings at home more magical. lol. :goodvibes I should totally start buying these refillables! Are they only good at resorts? Can you use them in the parks? What drinks can you get? Someone post a pic please. Ill buy in! If they are good for coffee I will totally get my 12 bucks worth :) Then Ill have a travel mug instead of all these glass ones. :)

Eeeeeeek! :scared1:

I know for a fact that I have some of the old old resort specific "good forever" mugs but I would be scared to death of being tackled by somone on this board if I ever tried to use them. :rotfl: :scared1::rotfl::scared1:

I've bought several new ones that are length of stay since then but technically my first mugs were supposed to be "forever". How sad that if I bring my beloved old mugs some may wish me a horrible fate.:sad2: If they only knew.... :sad2: :rotfl2:

They are only good at the Resorts (waterparks have there own for Daily use and AK use to have one but I think they no longer do)

You can get mainly Fountain drink and Coffee and some places have other things like Tea and stuff

http://allears.net/din/mugs.htm Here's some Info on them from Allears

Disbridemimi.... have you ever tried the coffee at most of the resorts?

I did hear of guy who liked it once though so there's hope.

Even bringing my own flavored creamer didn't help.

The sodas are good though and there is hot chocolate. If you mix the hot chocolate with the coffee it helps a bit.

ok everyone - when we were there a few weeks ago i took a picture of the sign. this one is at pop - we dropped in to check something out and as i passed i decided to take a picture.

can we put an end to this everylasting conversation spanning several threads.

LOL I had one coffee this time at CBR and it was gross, I thought it was just a fluke! Is it always that bad? SOG had a Starbucks which made me really happy, and I ended up getting some Frappucinos at Walmart to kep in our fridge. I REALLY need the caffine while at the world.

Thanks for the link about the MUGS I want one. :goodvibes

If the coffee stinks, what do you do? Do I need to wait to get to the park? I am staying at Pop so no kitchen. Probably no 7-11 around either. Not liking this.:confused3

Common sense would be to read the signs that are posted, and to abide by what they say.

Being a huge fan of irony, I have to chuckle at the level of outrage a refillable mug inspires and how adherent so many are to a Disney policy that they seem to care little about. I suspect many of theses outraged rule followers have little problem driving 80+mph on the Turnpike heading to Disney and endangering other travellers.

Then how come others on here have posted it's ok to use the same mugs when doing a split stay, because they would be the same design. Despite what the signs might say do you think they would want to spend another $12.99 each on the same exact mugs they purchased a few days before and they would still be on that same vacation at WDW, just at a different hotel for the rest of it.

I think if you can afford a WDW vacation then you can afford a new cup. I think it is a nice souvenier that you can you at home. We are already looking forward to getting new ones.

This May my son heard a CM tell someone with last year's mug it was no good and she could not have a refill. The CM was firm but not rude and handled it very well. Maybe they are finally cracking down.

I could have been one you see filling a waterbottle with soda. I always buy a mug, but they are so small they can be empty before you get back to the room or get to the pool. I will fill an Eddy Bauer type water bottle with soda but always bring my mug too so anyone who really cares can see I have bought the mug. It says unlimited refills and this seems preferable to running in every few minutes with a wet suit for another 12 ounces.

I think bringing back old mugs is cheap and dishonest. I wouldn't take last week's Subway cup back expecting free refills for life and Disney is no different.

well that's besides the point.

we stayed 3 days at wl before moving over to okw - there was no way we were going to come home with 6 mugs just because we changed resorts. had they kept with the resort specific mugs we would have because they are nice souveniers that we can use by our pool but since they are not we we didn't.

the fact that we could afford to buy 6 is besides the point

i'm still confused why so many people care so much about something disney themselves couldn't care less about.

Agree --- Actually I don't have a split stay, I will buy new mugs, so no issue with me. But, if a split stay, it just sounds silly to have to get a new one.
I feel challenged now -- I'll have to take a pic of these signs. It's easy for everyone to say what they say, but, what do they really say? Maybe someone out here already has a pic. :rolleyes1

No kidding, with all the kids plastic water bottles coming from gymnastic birthday parties, baseball teams, etc., who needs more cheap plastic?:guilty:

When i see mug post I think to myself... OMG Who cares...
why do dis'er get so upset about mugs.... these post always end up bad.. so why do you guys get yourself so worked up.... For nothing...

Its plan in simple.....

If you don't feel like its right to use the same mug on another trip.. then Don't!! Buy another .. but all means...

If you feel its ok to use the same mug on another trip then use the same mug...

If disney really cared one way or another they would do what they do at the water parks and have a new bar code every day and add a everyday bar code to the cups....

If your not a cast member don't worry about what others do....

I'm not saying i reuse mugs... infact we never buy mugs at all it would be a waste of money to us, we always use the dining plan and get our drinks that way, But if i did its not my place to say anything to someone that does reuse mugs...

:surfweb:
You can flame me all you want .. because i don't care... popcorn::

they say unlimited refills at THIS beverage location - i posted a picture of the sign a few pages back i took when we dropped into POP one night.

yes it says THIS location - not any location but i'm still not spending 13 bucks plus tax on new ones during the same vacation unless they return to resort specific mugs

but again i ask why is it such a debate when disney doesn't care - and 1 cm saying no you cant do that does not mean disney as a whole cares.

if they did don't you think they would move the beverage station behind some cm manned station so they could control who gets what.

i'd also like to know what someone would say to someone who's standing at the beverage station with a 1l reusable jug and their just purchased mug filling the mug then dumping into the jug??

they are after all refilling the mug
