Does anyone know the rule for split stay? We will be at CSR for 5 nights and then GF for 3...do I need to buy a set of mugs for each resort?
It doesn't matter whose mug is whose if you wash them each time you use them. We had 4 identical mugs on our trip to POP. I washed them in the bathroom sink each night and we'd each picked one up on the way out the door. We'd leave them in the car during the day and stop at the food court for an evening refill. At that time, we'd use the mug wash station. It was never a problem. If they're full, everyone keeps their own mug in front of them so I don't see how you would get surprised by what's inside.![]()
People are selling the mugs on ebay. Infact just last week someone listed a mug and said it was like new and able to be reused for your stay at Disney. I reported the auction and it was removed. I also emailed the seller and was told to mind my own business...jerk. Whoever the seller was ended up relisting their mug. So people are even purchasing these mugs used and taking them to Disney for refills.

I would have told you to mind your own business too. Bottom line it's their decision and not my place to question their morals. I'm not saying it's right, but if they want to resell the mug, or if someone wants to reuse their mug on another trip that's their choice.
With the number of people using old Disney mugs or containers that aren't even Disney mugs, it's obvious that the only people who care about this issue are the people on this forum. Disney does not enforce the "rule" about reusing mugs and we all know that they are not shy about enforcing rules when they feel it's appropriate.
Jerk???? Sounds like you have too much time on your hands.

That's just gross! The idea of buying somebody's used mug is just disgusting.
For me house rules are house rules, and they say "length of stay."
Enough said.If someone else gets away with it that doesn't make it o.k.
I don't have a problem with anyone using them within the year so if someone purchased for their trip in April 2009, I wouldn't care if anyone used it again in July 2009.
But new design=you get new mugs.

For the record, just because I think it is wrong, doesn't mean I am the "Mug Police". I don't waste my precious vacation time hanging around the refil station, screaming at mug offenders. I did joke with my sister though during our last trip that we should jump the guy who was refilling old, old, mugs at the ASSp. She declined, and we went on enjoying our meal.
Yes those Dixie Landings mugs are "forever" mugs. So they can use them only at Riverside even though the resort name has changed. Disney changed the mug rules in 2002 where they added the "only good at this resort for lengh of stay". I have 2 sets of forever mugs one set for CBR I bought in 2000 and one set for AKL I bought in 2001. I only use these mugs at the resort I bought them at. I plan on bringing my CBR "forever" mugs with me in Sept. when I stay in my pirate room.
Not quite. When we bought our first mugs in 1997 at the Polynesian, there were signs posted that the mugs were good only for the length of stay. So anyone who says that the rules changed in 2002 isn't quite correct. I think in 2002, they may have started posting the rules on the mug.
It would be nice if people just did the right thing instead of trying to justify their actions.
