Does anyone else to this?

In DH's family (this started before my time and we've been together over 15 years) but there is this styrophoam head, you know, the kind they use for wigs or hats? It's been decorated, had various wigs and hats and jewlery over the years, lost it's nose several years ago.... but you never know when that dang hat will turn up. We got it for a wedding gift. We've had it I think 3 more times since then. It is always given as a Christmas gift, usually a wedding gift, sometimes a birthday gift... it's amazing it's still in one piece.

Just wondering if anyone else has a gift that keeps making an appearance?

As I understand the story, one SIL gave it to another SIL to symbolize the actual gift, a "make over" or spa gift certificate... and it cracked everyone up... so that SIL gave it back the next year, with earrings on it... and it just took off from there....

DH and his sister have been exchanging the same dollar bill for many years on birthdays. They write the date on the bill and stick it in the Bday card.

DH's family exchanges a giant (and ancient) bottle of English Leather every Christmas. It must have been part of a display. No one would buy a bottle of anything that large! We are all afraid that one of these years it will get dropped. I imagine that any cologne that old would be pretty strong-smelling.

My family has an ugly, ugly ceramic figure. I actually got it as a joke for my dad, years ago. He had just come back from a trip to Uganda and I acted like it was something really special in honor of the work he had done there. I named it Uganda Man. Poor Uganda Man has really made the rounds. He's been gifted in some of the most unusual ways. Once he didn't show up in the gifts at all, but was found hiding between the pillows in bed after the guests had all gone home. Another year, my parents were having a party and I put UM in a prominant place. My mother didn't notice until the crowd thinned out. She was mortified. She was sure that people would think that she actually LIKED him. :teeth:

Thanks! That reminds me I can pass off this ugly duck that I have had in my possession for too long!
