and now i have a questions.

there is a form in there that has to be notarized - who can do that?

is there a fee to have someone do that?

thanks.

Someone at our bank is able to do it. Call and see if that's an option. There usually isn't a fee as far as I remember.

I agree with the bank being a good place to check. We also have someone at our local library but I'd check with your bank first.

Depending on your bank, there may or may not be a fee. It's been a while since I did this, but it seems to me I paid about $10 for notarization.

checked our bank - no go.

emailed my brother who is a realestate agent and he gave me a site to view. the only one i can see is that some travel agents employ someone to do that. i know an agent so i'll ask her if their work has someone to do this for me.

if not it's back to the drawing board.

Have you asked on the Canadian board? Maybe someone there can help you find someone.

OH - here - there's a thought:rolleyes1

Here in the US, there is often a notary in the local town hall and they usually do not charge town residents for the service. Law offices usually have one. Some Fedex-Kinkos in the US have notaries available. Not sure if that's also true in Canada. You could try posting a question on the Canadian board.

By the way, did you receive a tote bag with your paperwork?

yes we got a tote bag - it's cream with brown - we bought one almost identical in cream and blue in may :)

so now we have 2

Kurby you should be able to find a Notary Public (they seem to be all over here) and they can do it for you. They will charge you but I'm not sure how much.

Our local UPS store has a notary. Perhaps a local AAA office may have one as well, but I'm not sure if they exist north of the border. :smokin:

Kurby,

Notary Publics exist in Canada. As far as I know, most lawyers are Notaries in Ontario. I think they will charge you a small fee and will want to see photo id to confirm you are who you say you are. Check one of those ones you see in malls like Yorkdale or the Eaton Centre.

If you do have to pay a fee, it is small...usually in the neighborhood of $10 - $20 US.

My bank does it for free. I had to do the last one at the UPS store (Saturday). They charged $4.

Hi Kurby
Mel from Canada here
My Chartered Accountant says he is able to do that ,,,see what your accountant says,,just a suggestion

I found a law office in the city that specialize in it "not exactly sure what that is supposed to mean' and we'll call my brothers accountant to see if he could do it for us too

thanks all.

Glad to hear that your paperwork came :) We got the same tote bag in our box too :cloud9:

Booked our October trip today. That was a lot of fun :sad2: Took korever to get through on the phone & had to move our dates and location around to make it work. Hope it isn't always like that :scared:

ANother way is to type 'notary canada' in a google search. We are adopting and had to have everything notarized and that is how we found a local notary for us. I just typed notary wisconsin and found tons of people.

Hope that helps.

So er.. This is off topic but..

We also did the mountain of paperwork a few weeks ago, didn't do anything with a notary thou. I may not have read the papers that carefully, just signed a bunch of stuff and sent it back to Disney.. Did I screw up?

the notary paperwork is only if you are financing through disney - it's for the mortgage if you didn't finance through disney then you won't have one.

i've got an email out to a lawyer friend of my brothers - just waiting to see if he will do it for us.

As far as I know you only need the short form mortgage to be notarized. If you didn't finance through Disney, no need for a notary. :smokin:
