Rebecca & Wes DFTW 5/7/11 Wedding pictures FINALLY POSTED!

Just want to say that I think your newsletters are VERY impressive and I would never be able to create something like that.

Love the invites too. :goodvibes

I like hair 2 and 3. Both would be fabulous! I think 2 is a little more couture looking and 3 is like classic, regal beauty. Both are saved in my hair inspiration file too! Everything looks fantastic! I hope you get your questions answered soon, I got a TON of mine answered on Saturday with my planner. Hallelujah! I cant wait to read more, your day is going to be fabulous! :goodvibes

BOE UPDATES
I am so excited because I heard back from Amy answering all my questions and with my updated BOE. I had asked her about what it would take to get the Build Your Own Ice Cream dessert menu down to $24/pp instead of $27 and she said she would look into it. Well, I got my new BOE and she got the price down to $24.30 and didn’t take a thing off the menu!!!!!!!!!! She is the best! Lesson is, clearly everything is negotiable and the ‘rules’ don’t always apply I guess!

We also looked into moving the shrimp and mussels or seafood station to the cocktail hour to go with the cheese display. There is already soooooooo much food in that buffet anyway. Well, that seafood station ends up being worth $31pp!!!!!! This is taking our meal down to $79pp!!!! And all we got rid of were the extra pastries and moved the seafood. Now, we have decided that instead of the seafood station altogether we can choose 2 passed hors d’eouvres and keep the cheese display for a total of $30pp saving almost $2K! I am elated mostly because now it looks like we will definitely get to do all the uplighting we wanted AND get the caricaturist!

The caricaturist is a new development I am really excited about! Wes and I are going to have him come a little early before the cocktail hour starts and give him a picture of us for him to draw caricatures of first. Then we are going to put the picture out on an easel for the guests to see so they will get excited about having one done. I really think it will end up being something completely different than anything my family has seen before.

I was looking at chargers online and saw some awesome deals to purchase them so even though we are doing a buffet and don’t need them I think I’m going to get them anyway. I wanted them from the beginning and ended up taking them out, but I just think they look so pretty! It’s a splurge I can live with.

Grooms Cake/Favor Options
I’m still waiting to hear on the groom’s cake…. We are looking into a Krispy Kreme donut tower which will also serve as a late night snack for guests. I think it will be so fun and who doesn’t like donuts??????? My only concern is that there needs to be a staff member who will box them up for us and I’m not sure if that will be ok without some silly charge. I’m also a little torn now between the favors. I’d still like to give something to the guests even though the caricature and donut could be considered the favor. I’m tossing the idea around between doing custom cigars and matches (mainly for the men who Im sure will love this) or adding a candy buffet with all gold candies. Another option is making a donation to the American Cancer society in honor of my grandfather who passed away. I’ve also seen on theknot a wedding where they had a board/table of different charities and the guests chose which charity they wanted the bride/groom to donate to in their name. I thought that was cool too. IDK. Im having a hard time deciding. The final idea would be to just think of the caricature and donut to-go as the favors and just do 3 gold Ferrero Rocher chocolates in a clear box with a bow. Honestly, Im fine without any additional favors but my mom is not into the donut idea (crazy!). I think it’s just because she is a chocoholic and would rather have pure chocolate. O well. If anyone has ideas or thoughts it would be helpful.

Welcome Baskets
Welcome Basket contents have been decided! Since we are from Atlanta, we are thinking of doing a Georgia theme to the baskets. I’m thinking wicker basket with a note saying “Although we are in Florida, I have ‘Georgia on my Mind.’” Included would be fresh peaches, candied pecans, glass coca-cola bottles and Atlanta Braves playing cards- touches on all things native to Georgia! And of course an itinerary of some kind. I am really excited about putting these together and love that they have a personal touch!

Another check off the list!
We also got the flower girl dress yesterday! Another check off the list! It is really stunning. It is floor length with lots of beading and sequins on the bust and ivory so it looks awesome with my dress. My flower girl is my cousin and lives in London so I sent her pictures and am sooo excited to hear back from her and my aunt.

And here is a pic from my fitting a couple weeks ago....

Clearly it is too big in lower back area and midsection. I guess that's a good thing tho right! Now I just need to get those shoulder muscles to come out from hibernation :) I wish I had some pics of the veil. O well, more to come later...

Holy cow, you are so skinny!!! Lovely dress!

Do you mind sharing where you found the chargers online? Looking for some myself. :thumbsup2

Love all your ideas, ESPECIALLY the donut tower. Very clever!

Your dress is gorgeous! Do you have any photos of the front of it?

Can't wait to see more!

LOVE your dress ... your train is to die for! :lovestruc

We're also doing a buffet and bought chargers, too. We got acrylic ones at Hobby Lobby on sale for $1 each; much better than the $6 each Disney was going to charge us. :thumbsup2

Thank you! Yes, that is just ridiculous about the chargers! I'm excited you find them to be as important as I do!

I do have more photos but have been hesitant to post too much! haha. Im easing my way into posting front view pictures of me in the dress. Once I feel CERTAIN none of my guests get on the forum I will feel better!

Thank you! The chargers I was looking at were at Macy's for $2ea.

I love the donut idea too! I wish my mom were as excited about it :) I mean, they are krispy kreme, not from some hobo gas station!

Everything looks really good:thumbsup2. I like your invitations and newsletter. I made some for my bridesmaids to keep them informed about stuff I have pics in my PJ. My favorite for the hair is definately option 3. I think that would go great with your overall look :)

O geez. We are less than 3 months away and I am making MAJOR CHANGES! What is wrong with me!? I must be out of my mind but I am completely second guessing myself.

After talking to Amy yesterday I have made a number of adjustments and still have a few that I am working out...

Here’s what we’ve +/-

- Buffet / + Plated meal with beef filet and lobster

(after talking to Amy, the plated meal seems to go better with the formalness (is that a word?) of our event)

- Change room diagram with 12 rounds and 1 roman style head table / + ????

(I really like sleek, clean lines and think there is an opportunity here to improve the room overall. The table layout is FREE after all and I think it can make a statement)

here is a pic of it as it is now...

roomdiagram.jpg

- Favors from ??? / + champagne glass favors filled with choc candy wrapped in gold, also serves as place card with name and table name

(I wanted to find something that would serve as double duty for the place card and favor)

here is what I'm going for...

champagneglassfavor.jpg

- 10 large fountaining tulip arrangements and 2 kids table arrangements / + 12 large fountaining tulip arrangements

(Im afraid the 2 kids tables with different arrangements will make the room look bare in the corner against the other tables with tall arrangments. I think I might just suck it up and get 12 ugh)

- Pin spot lighting for 10 arrangements / + pin spot lighting and wall wash throughout ballroom with monogram gobo

(I am so excited about adding the monogram to shine on the dance floor!)

+ caricaturist for 3 hours, possibly adding a 4th hour

(my family is particularly stoked about this one, this would also be a favor but not everyone will want/get to have it done; also, Wes and I are going to give the caricaturist a photo of us in advance and let him do one for us first to put on an easel as people walk into the reception for the cocktail hour)

+ signature cocktail, not sure what yet, but probably something purple

(I really think this is worth it and will end up being one of the takeaways of the wedding; now to decide what to serve and what to call it! : / )

- Grooms cake to + more uplighting and floral

(again, I think this is worth replacing. While I loved the donuts, there will be plenty of food already and our cake will have 3 different flavor options so there is really just no need for it. Wes wasn’t too attached to the idea anyway)

- 3 hors dourves for just 2 hors dourves

(this was a tough decision but as my parents said, they bring those around constantly so it doesn't mean less FOOD just less choices. Good point and worth doing to make the lighting and floral the way I want)

OK people, I can't change my mind anymore!!!! This is it, I am making these decisions and that is it! I can't keep second guessing myself. Ya know, I never second guessed my dress or the b-maids dresses or the venue or anything else but suddenly I don't know what to do! I really do think the plated meal is the right choice and I'm happy with that. I am also willing to put any amount of money necessary into flowers and lighting because the ambiance has always been most important to me.

Alright, I'm off to go dwell on this blessed event some more :). Excuse my sarcasm, I am really excited!!!! I just wish I were good at making decisions... :(

WHEW!!!!!! What a day for you, eh?

I am bored with round tables and I want to do something different, too. I'm excited to see what you come up with.

Honestly, it sounds like you really don't need the favors (the gold chocolate). You are more than likely going to have way too much food as it is. Also, guests will be getting their favors before dinner and might fill up on chocolate!! The caricaturist will be a great favor (even if not everyone gets one) and if you still want the chocolate, one idea is to sprinkle some pieces on each table around your centerpieces (like chocolate instead of rose petals, haha) :rotfl2:

I also think you are fine with just two hordourves. We are only having a fruit platter for our cocktail hour. I don't want guests filling up on food before the overpriced lunch gets served. Oops, did I just say that? :littleangel:

Your dress is so beautiful! As far as hair styles, I went to the guy who always colors our hair and asked him what he thinks would look best with the dress and veil. I told him, he's the professional and I know nothing about hair..lol! I can't wait to read more of your plans. We are having about 100 people and it's nice to see someone else with a beo for a wedding with a big guest list.

Are you doing a tasting now that you've decided to switch to a plated dinner? If so I would love to hear how that goes, we have gone over the menus and everything sounds so delicious.

Also I saw that you mentioned in one of your earlier posts about doing some sort of "charity" favor. We are registered for "gifts" at www.ChangingthePresent.org, and they have a ton of different causes that you can donate to. You can search by price range and all that jazz. Might be something to look into if you want to do a charity favor in addition to that chocolatey goodness that you have planned. :thumbsup2

Wow! It has been way too long since Ive been on here. We are down to thirty something days and I am SOOOO excited!!!

Our balance is due on Thursday and we got our count in to our planner today!
Looks like we are hovering just under 130 which is what I was hoping for! We went over budget about $1000 which isn't too bad and the only reason it happened was because we didn't stick to our number on the dessert party. Originally it was supposed to be 80 and turns out we are at 100! That adds up FAST!

Here is my list of accomplishments since I last updated:
-rehearsal dinner dress (pictures to come)
- purchased table name frames
- purchased table assignment frames
- purchased gold chargers
- completed hair trial 1 & 2 (IM DIFFICULT)
- purchased honeymoon bathing suits for Hawaii
- chose our readers (my aunt and his cousin)
- asked my aunt to borrow her AMAZING diamond earrings for my something borrowed!
- chose our readings, psalms
- put in for our trumpet player and violinist for the ceremony! I'm SOOOO excited about the trumpet player for the Trumpet tune when my dad and I walk down
-ordered sparklers for our send off

That's what I can think of for now anyway.

We are going down to Orlando this weekend to get our marriage license, meet with the church music coordinator, and meet our lighting guy from Get Lit Orlando to look at the ballroom one more time before the wedding!!!!!!

I'm soooooo excited (in case I didn't mention it already...) because we are also going to go to the park on Friday and Saturday! IM PUMPED!

Things left to do:
-find SUnday brunch outfit
-order shoes for rehearsal dinner
-find outfit for bachelorette party

Alright ladies I have been extremely dedicated and updated my workout to my new 'wedding workout' making sure to target my weak points. It's a killer. I'm also severely limiting carbs to mainly around workout times. Not trying to lose weight here, just lean out. The dress is teeny tiny and it needs to zip :)

I will have to update soon with my pictures from my shower my sister threw me!

We've been starting to get wedding gifts in the mail which has also been super exciting and now we actually have things to put in our kitchen cabinets haha. I'll try to post pictures of what we've been up to soon. I'm sure my writing bores people and I know I like looking at pictures too :)
