Disney's Saludos Amigos "Welcome Friends" is one of my mom's favorite classic Disney movies and I have always loved it myself because it's so colorful and wonderful. I knew it was the first in a series of South American based animated films that Disney made during World War II and how did this movie come about? My favorite parts are Pedro The Plane and the Brazil song

My mom loved the movie from the moment she heard about it but we never found a copy until I went to a thrift shop and found a used copy of Saludos Amigos "Welcome Friends" and we watched it and it was cool and funny especially when Donald Duck tries to ride the llama

Was this movie where Jose Carioca makes his debut? I found it surprising that Ary Barrosa provided his voice because Ary Barrosa was a popular singer/songwriter in Brazil at the time

This movie was the first time I heard the Brazil anthem and Ary Barosa did a wonderful job singing it and then I heard Dionne Warwick's version of Brazil and her version is also wonderful too. I wonder if Disney had plans to give the character Jose Carioca his own cartoon series after the success of Saludos Amigos "Welcome Friends"?
