We will be in Orlando for two nights and one day. We are trying to decide if we should try and go to the parks or not. It would be our DD (18) and her friend (20). It will be Saturday, August 2. The young ladies would not be up and out early, would probably not be willing to follow a plan, may get the fastpass+ idea or they may not. We would stay at a Disney property so they could take advantage of the Magic Kingdom late hours from 11 pm on. They would mainly be interested in the more popular rides like rockincoaster, space mountain, tower of terror. Maybe a parade, don't care about Meet and Greets or fireworks. The other option is to go to Disney Quest which my DD loves and have a nice relaxing pool day prior to going to Disney Quest.

Thoughts?

Thank you

If they're not going to get up early on a Saturday, not be willing to follow any type of plan, and may not use fastpasses, they probably will be sorely disappointed. Crowds will be high, and getting up early/following a plan/using fastpasses will be required for a Saturday at the start of August! If they're willing to use FP+ and do all the EMH that night after a late start, it MIGHT be worth it. That depends on your dollar threshold.

Space Mountain is the only one in your list at MK, so they would also probably be disappointed there as well.

Looks like a pool day with DQ would be your best (and cheapest!) bet!

I've got to say my 19 yr old would pick the parks over DQ. I think they'd have a great time at the parks. My daughter can't get enough of TT & RR and we go quite a bit.

What about a water park?

The girls will have fun either way because they're at Walt Disney World :)

Thanks. For correction the list was just a highlights. They both go to Disneyland often and would ride everything at MK at night. During the day they would want to do mainly the big rides at MGM. They like to take leisurely meal breaks even if it is sitting on a bench. They both go to college on the LA area. I do agree with you though. I may have been a bit harsh. I could make a lose plan and do the fastpasses but no way would they get up early and no gty they would follow the plan. I am leaning towards quest but keep the input coming. Thanks again

I'd say go for the park and do what you can! You don't have to stress will they or wont' they get our early, you already know they won't! So, just book some afternoon FP+ for DHS for RnRC, ToT, whichever 3 they want most there, maybe you might possibly get a 4th or more as the day goes(you can help them with that, as you'll there, too, right?), and then hop over to MK for the evening late hours with EMH, and possibly even get some FP+ there if you a very lucky, lol! I'm sure they'd get a good amt of things done once they got into the parks, especially in the evening during parades and fireworks that you said they wouldn't be doing. Well, lots of guests will be so that'd a great time to do rides with shorter lines, and then during the EMH! And actually, my DD23 and I never do rd or mornings there at all, and still have lots of fun and get lots done without to many long lines(though we do do the parades and fireworks!). Though to be fair, we go in Dec. Anyway, I vote parks, I bet they can still have a blast and have a fabulous time!

Thank you everyone for your help. This has turned into much ado... The girls decided they want to go to Universal. Off we go. Thank you.
