Yep - I think your cell signal or wifi strength are really the main issue with how fast that screen loads. And, no one can control that part when they're in the park. That's why practicing and getting your muscle memory for the buttons helps, but can't guarantee anything. I have my fingers crossed for you!!
Case in point... my phone totally tripped up at both 10am and 2pm today.

Just kept spinning long beyond any hope of getting a BG if it had been for real. >:(

My phone is pretty new (although my wife has the newest model), so I don't think it's anything to do with the speed of my phone's processing capability. I'll make sure we're getting plenty of bars and there will be 3 or more of us trying when the day comes.

I’m sorry :(

DH’s app kept doing that spinning thing too. I had to delete and reinstall the app.

I've kept the app updated, but maybe I'll try deleting and reinstalling to see if that improves the speed. At least it happened during practice and not when it really counts.

Quick question to anyone who might know. I'm heading to HS on Columbus Day and staying off site (at the DoubleTree near Universal if that makes any difference.) Does anyone know if I could Uber to the Swan Hotel and walk to Hollywood Studios?

Hello, fellow ROTR planners! Here is my recent experience from (this past) Saturday: We arrived (via Skyliner from Riviera) @ HS around 9:20am & after a quick & painless temp screening, bag-check, & MagicBand tap, we immediately headed to MMRR & got in line. They started boarding for the ride @ 9:30. Of course, we boarded the ride (which is 4 mins & 30 secs long BTW) @ 9:56 so we were on the ride (toward the end during a particularly bumpy part lol) when the clock turned 10:00--but we had all been researching & practicing like crazy for days*** and managed to get BG 7! The family in the car behind us also got one, not sure what group. We all went bananas for the last 1-2 mins of the ride, I don't even remember the ending! 🤪FYI all 4 of us in my group (me, my hubby & our 2 kids) had 4 bars on our phones for the whole ride. Interestingly, while we were outside in the queue, the bars kept changing up & down from 2-3-4. So actually better for all of us inside the ride! Two of us used the Dis wifi & two of us used cell data, just to try both efforts evenly. My 14-yr old daughter was the one who got the BP using data. Got off the ride @ 10:02, went over to GE, our BG was called, & we basically walked on ROTR. Went on MFSR right afterward, wait for that was bout 30 mins. Couldn't believe we were on & off these 3 rides by 11am. ***If you are interested in our "practicing" & prep efforts, LMK & I am happy to share!

Yes you could take an Uber/Lyft to the Swan, walk through the lobby and turn left toward the Dolphin. Go out the doors and turn right on the wide path toward the Boardwalk. You will find / see the walking path along the Boardwalk's side of the canal to HS just after you walk over the bridge to the Boardwalk area.

I would also be interested in your tips!

So, as many have discussed here and all over online, preparedness/readiness & quick fingers are key to obtaining a Boarding Pass. Originally we had 5 ppl in our group but 1 dropped out last-minute due to Covid concerns, so I called Dis had her removed from ALL our plans (painstaking: dining, resort, park tix. parkpass, magicband, yada) so that only the 4 remaining ppl showed up in our official party in the MDE app, specifically of my concern, on the HS/ROTR page. So all good/clear (w/ precisely who was going to show up on our list when attempting our BG) before leaving for our trip. So make sure your party is all squared away on your list, ALL LINKED on MDE & MagicBands, etc. If you're worried about it, just call Disney (and yes, wait on hold forever) to get it settled!!! We live in Chicago. So we're an hour behind FL. So I set alarms on our phones here in IL for myself and my hubby & 2 kids for 3 weeks leading up to our trip, for 8:55 (9:55 in FL) and 12:55 (1:55 in FL)--5 mins before the actual live boarding group attempt times in FL. (So fun were the text messages from my kids & husband saying "I am live e-learning/working right now in my bedroom and cannot practice a BG, Mom/Wife)! ANYWAY, I "forced" my family to respond to these alarms when they could to check out the MDE ROTR BG system, so we were all totally familiar with the Join button, and the next page regarding the Party, and then the next Join page--we just kept doing it over and over @ home so we knew what to push SO FAST. It is literally the difference between hitting these buttons in 3 seconds and 6 seconds. You WILL NOT GET a BP if you are not thee fastest. Practice with everyone in your group at home for days leading up to your trip!

I would like to comment (on my own post, lol) that while we were in line for Slinky Dog (long after we'd been on ROTR--and MFSR & MMRR for that matter--) a couple w/ their son were behind us in line and we got to talking--for about 90 secs 6'+ ft apart--and the dad mentioned to us that they'd tried & not gotten BPs @ both 10am & 2pm for ROTR. He went on to explain that they were super upset & went to Guest Services to complain, only to be told that YES, THE BPs ARE INDEED GIVEN OUT IN 5 SECS. So you just literally need to be faster than 75% of everyone else. It stinks and is stressful, but it is what it is, so just be prepared and you'll get it!

I assume all people that were in the park were automatically checked when you got to that screen so you didn't have to check anyone? Thanks for the report!

So does your party not get automatically picked from your list of family and friends? I thought I read somewhere The system was updated so you could just choose yourself and everyone else was added automatically lol I tried this morning and it took me wayyy too long because I had to choose each person. I guess I need to practice every single day lol 😂 even while at work lol

Yes. When we practiced @ home, everyone was not automatically checked (as obviously nobody was actually tapped into the park) so we just skipped that step from home practice. Once we were all in the park, when we got to that screen, we were indeed all automatically checked. Of note: during the home practices, the times I did take the extra step of clicking the "select all" (members of our party) button before hitting the second join button, I never got a (fake) BP, I always got the horrifying red alert "BGs are all full" message. So the 1.5 seconds it takes to do that extra step really does matter (ie you do have to be THAT fast. So stressful! 🤪)

When you're practicing @ home, the members of your party are not automatically checked off (as you're not actually tapped into the park). Skip that step when practicing from home as you won't have to do it (check each person nor the "select all" button) when you're actually @ the park--it will indeed automatically check everyone who has tapped in that day.

Thank you soooooo much now I feel there may be hope

Thanks, that's exactly what I've been doing (skipping selecting people) and have been "successful" in my trial runs every time.
