I

I hear you...we're at the Boardwalk and I would love to know specific details about doing this! There are SO many varying videos/tips out there. For what it's worth, I have an Android phone and am not too "techy" in regards to Wi-Fi and other terms; I like straightforward, practical advice, literally spelling out steps that work. Thanks for reading and any help, this board is so awesome!!!
I don’t know about S/D, but my family got BGs twice from inside our rooms on the first floor of BWV, using data. The two people who got them both have Android phones and AT&T.

We didn’t get a time this morning (and we tried right at 7!) . If we try at 1 and get a time for the evening can we leave HS and go to AK? And then come back for our time?

Boarding Group 6 this morning with breakfast at 9:25. Will be using rider swap. Should I go to breakfast first then head over? Worried the two trips means I won’t make it in time.
Is your breakfast in the park? If so and you can get to the park when they first open, you might be called early enough to ride first.

however,if you’re not wanting to rush, just take your restaurant receipt when you check into the ride and let them know you had a dining reservation

You can certainly hop to another park if you like. I would be concerned that my boarding group would get called and I would still be at the second park. They only give you a small window of time to return. Hopping to Epcot would be a safer choice because it's so easy to get to HS from there.

Question; if someone is trying to practice but has no ticket, do they get the same "just a moment" message, or do they get the red error?

Within the app, once you have a boarding group, you can click Check Status under the ATAT picture on the main page and it will tell you your estimate return time. Just keep an eye on that after you hop so you'll know when it's close to time to leave. I'd probably start heading for the exit when 30 minutes remain to give yourself time to wait for a bus and get to DHS with time to get through security, etc and back to GE

We had BG 11 last week and our group was called around 8:35am. We were off the ride by 8:56am. Groups 1-13 were called first thing in the morning. Park opening time was 9am that day.

I have an AP and practice everyday, and am successful, so I understand the whole process and what it looks like, that's not what I'm asking.

I'm interested in knowing if the app checks for valid tickets, or only for a park pass reservation. I know what it says on the page, but from a programing POV, does the app only care about the park pass, or does it also look for valid tickets in its "check." Maybe no one knows, I'm just curious.

How could you have a park pass without a valid ticket? The language on MDE implies that it's checking for the park pass, but really it should be a moot point because you can't have the park pass without a ticket.

Sometimes what is programed into the app isn't what appears on a screen (I'm married to a computer programmer), meaning what the app is actually checking for may or may not be told on the page that appears to the public. I'm trying to help figure out why some people keep getting a red error even though they are doing everything right. Hence, if someone who has no valid ticket at all gets the same message as those with valid tickets, then that can't be the answer.

Yes, it's possible the person is just too slow every single time, but when they practice everyday and have help, that seems unlikely. It could possibly be a phone setting, or an app glitch if it isn't a ticket issue.

Yes I understand how programming works (I have an IT degree lol).
Based on the number of people in this thread who are successful in practicing and do not have valid tickets, I am quite confident that is not the reason. Most likely the reason for not being successful in practice is one or more of the following - not pushing the buttons fast enough, pushing the buttons too early, stopping to check/uncheck people, slow WiFi, slow cell service.

When the people who do this every day try to give you an answer, but you still insist on arguing with them...
Yes, most of us are doing this every day. It's those that are having errors every time they try that we are all trying to help, as we'd like them to be able to ride too. :)

So you understand why the question is important; a ticket issue could be slowing down a person's app if it is running a query that is unnecessary. That's why I'm asking.

I've not seen most people who practice say they don't have tickets, if they do say that, then I apologize to the thread. That's why I was asking for someone's experience that has no tickets in their account specifically. I've always had an AP while practicing, hence why I need input to try to help others who don't.

Sure, I do believe that is true for most people.

I do not have a valid ticket and I don’t have any park pass reservations in the future. I am able to get to the screen that says you don’t have reservations when practicing.

On the Disneyland app you do need a valid ticket so you can at least select someone for the party as they don’t access the F&F list, so I can understand that question.

But as it is, the system only cares if you have a park pass reservation, which would only be available if you have a valid ticket.
