Im going to apologize right away, because Im sure this question has been asked, but Im feeling confused & need clarification. This is for an upcoming trip. I have a family of 3. We are going to HS with my brother-in-law who has a family of 5 (maybe 6 if a friend joins). So our total group will be 8 or 9. How do I link us all together into 1 group? So far, I invited him & he accepted, but I only see him, not his family. How do i create a group of the 8 of us? Also, if lets say 4 of us have the app, should we all 4 be trying at 7:00am? Does it affect our chances of getting a BG that we are a big group? Does it matter if one of the teenagers changes their mind & doesn’t join us for the ride?

I keep seeing reference to something called the "AT AT" method? I believe this references the method where you do not pull down on the screen to refresh. What are the exact steps of this method and what does AT AT stand for?

Also, I'm trying to get tickets for just 2 people. I know Disney recommends that only one member of the group try for tickets but should I have both of us try? Does that somehow slow down the process?

I read Post 1 and didn't see how Rider Swap works for RotR. Let's say there's 4 in my group, one will not ride due to not meeting height requirement. When I join the BG, I hit "select all" and (hopefully) we get the BG.

So when we go to the ride, do we let the CM know that one adult will stay with the one not riding and do they get a Rider Swap FP on their magic band? Will they give more than 1 FP with the Rider Swap (don't they normally do up to 3 more?). What would be the best use of the 4th person's BG pass (the one not riding)?

Yes, you can have both people try (according to post 1 of this thread).

You'll need everyone linked on MDE. Every person that has an individual account will have to accept your invite to link up, just like he did. If He manages someone else's account, he'll have to accept your invite for their account just like he did with his. That plus everyone having a DHS park reservation is what ya'll will need.

Does it matter if one of the teenagers changes their mind & doesn’t join us for the ride?

Nope.

AT AT are all terrain armored transport, the vehicles you see in this pic
Basically you hit join from the main page at 7am and keep clicking join until you get a bg. This is the method i use, i don't trust refresh
Both can try on 2 separate devices it won't allow anything down

I spoke to a CM in tech support/internet help? ( can’t remember what she called the department) I asked her if as many people in my party as possible should attempt to join the boarding group. She insisted that Disney’s stance is absolutely not, that only 1 person in the group should try bc it is an internet-based process, and that all we would be doing is competing with eachother and possibly cancelling eachother out where none of us get a boarding group. Thoughts on this? We are a group of 8.

I don’t agree. we always have 2-4 phones trying depending on the size of our group. We all log onto one account and have been successful every time we’ve tried for a BG

That's they're excuse for when people don't get in. Everyone in the same group trying at the same time has been done and reported successful time and time again

I got boarding group 4 on wifi from boardwalk using the refresh button this morning. Thanks for all the advice guys. We are wxcited to ride!!
congrats

first day of my trip was HS and getting up that early after a day of flying is no small task. you will forget all that once you get on the ride though because it is worth every bit of effort.

I have a Samsung Galaxy 8
Looks like that model is about 4 years old and maybe compares with iphone 8. Based off reports of iphone 8, it's hit and miss if you'll get through in time, just remember to click the joins as fast as possible and keep trying. I know when I upgraded from an iphone 11 to Google Pixel phone, the pixel always got through faster. Id keep trying and see if you can get it working, but if you keep missing, might be worth getting a new phone.

I second this. I've tried a few times with other people and have always gotten a BG. You can miss out if your phone slightly lags so it's best to have multiple options.

My family and I just booked a spur of the moment trip for later this month but for the first time ever, we won't be staying at Disney (we're going to be trying Universal Instead for a few nights). We plan on going to Hollywood Studios for one day (our only exposure to Disney on this trip), specifically just to get on Rise. Park Tickets have been purchased and Park Reservations have been completed. I understand the general just of the Boarding Groups for Rise (i.e. get on the phone app just before 7am and pray). As someone staying offsite however, do I have to get on Disney Property to access the app and get a boarding pass? Can it be done from the Universal Resort or in my car driving to the park? Any advise and experiences would be greatly appreciated.
