Rant! Spring Breakers at HH (and elsewhere) without adult supervision

I'm here and agree with you!

Ditto...I guess this wasn't like 'we were' at my age. Yes..we partied and such and could get loud and even out of hand, but we didn't go to a resort with lots of other buddies and just go crazy for a week. Most of the group in my circle had the decency to go out in the desert with..well, not alcohol..and just do silly things like the rainbow guy. :hippie: Of course, I didn't go to college right after high school, so struggling at a job and seeing a party as a bunch of friends hanging out at the little apartment 4 of us shared was different than a week at a resort that was most likely gifted by parents (or if not gifted by parents than paid for by a part time job since parents paid for school, or gifted by taxpayers since kids paid for it out of a school loan).

I remember about 10 years ago a new-ish Carnival cruiseship had to be taken out of service for a week to repair Spring Breakers damage. As an example.....this particular ship had heavy bronze lion heads on the stairway railings. The kids were breaking these off and returning to their cabins to play "basketball" with them in the cabin trashcan. Major damage to the cabins and railings in public spaces.....and that is only ONE example.

Ok, I'm no longer a "puppy". Whew....if I had done something this stupid my father would ensure...I wouldn't be able to sit for a month.

Perhaps my Dad needs to handle these kids!!!

Anyway Carnial changed it's age policy.

We were at HHI resort from March 11th until the 16th. It was as quiet and peaceful as always, but we spent little time at the resort pool where it sounds like there was a problem.

We went to the beach house and that pool most days, and lounged on our balcony. Saw dolphins several times!

Still not ready to get back to the grind next week . . .

Hey hey, my my
Rock and roll can never die
There's more to the picture
Than meets the eye.
Hey hey, my my.

Did anyone go over and tell them to knock it off?? Sometimes people don't realize how loud they are. I pointe it out to a bunch of rowdies at the SSR pool one night. They very quickly apologized and quieted down.

we went skiing Pres Week and the grown adults acted like idiots while we were there, screaming down the hall at midnight, letting the kids do windsprints all hours of the day and nite....my point is some people no matter what age have no courtesy of others

Agreed, and the best way to correct it is to CHARGE! If they cause damage, make them pay. If they create comfort issues, they need to be told they can be evicted. I know it's not the "Disney way", but why should others suffer for the lack of respect from a few.
Disney doesn't have the mechanisms in place to monitor medium damages, only the obvious major issues. They also don't have the backbone to do it in most instances.

Many resorts have these issues, DVC certainly has less than most. Personally, I would never allow my units to be used by a "spring break" group. Even for a graduation trip, we sent my older daughter and a friend as chaperone's. The risk is too great to the owner to take these chances. However, the owner has a right to allow anyone to use their units who fits within the rules. DVC has an obligation to control out of control behavior as much as possible but it's not possible to control everything. Many timeshare resorts get around this issue by having a min check in age, often 21, 23 or 25.

The problem with kids today is they are just like we were!

haa haaa haaa!!! you are so right, which is why I would never let my sons have that type of Freedom!!!!! :lmao:
