Questions about add-on

I will be closing on my first DVC purchase this week and am already thinking of an add-on. I have read ( I think) about people buying add-ons from Disney and also getting banked points with their add-on. Does this happen often? I would probably buy sooner if there is a possiblity of getting the 2005 points. (my name will probably not be in the system until January though). Does anybody have any insight or suggestions? Thanks so much.

Add-ons will not come with any banked points. You will get current Use Year points and will be able to bank those. Add-ons will be in the same Use Year as your Master Contract so you will get 2005 points for any Use Year you have at this point and another allotment in 2006.

Some resales may be available with banked points, but not add-ons made thru DVC.
