Question about VB

Which airport would be closest to VB? Thanks!

The closest is Melbourne but you may find flights are more difficult to come by and/or more expensive. West Palm Beach and Orlando are roughly the same distance to Vero...WPB may be slightly closer if you are doing a Vero-only trip.

Also, it depends on how familiar you are with driving in the area... the trip back to West Palm can be a little tricky (and busy) depending on the time of day... Orlando is an easier ride, but takes a little bit longer!

If you can work it out, Melbourne is a great option. We flew Delta a year ago for about $30 more per ticket than Orlando. There were not as many flights available, but we were able to find ones that worked. For us, it was worth the money not to have the drive to and from Orlando. The airport is very nice - small and much less hectic than others.

If we're going to both WDW and Vero, we fly into Orlando - go to Vero first and then finish our trip at WDW.

I always do Melbourne. So easy in and out and about 45 minutes to the resort. I much prefer the size of this airport to MCO.

Thanks - I found flights from here to MLB to run about $40 more pp - worth avoiding the crowds IMHO! Next question - do you rent a car or is there transportation available to VB from the airport?

I am unaware of any transport to the resort, but I may be wrong. I always rent a car because the resort is a good drive from Vero and also to Sebastian. In order to take advantage of the many wonderful restaurants in the area and other tourist-type things, I always rent a car.
