I think there are a few in the corner of every floor

on the official page there is nothing about the room refurb. only the painting

Correct, the majority of the studios with tub are on the first floor. As another poster mentioned, they may not take the entire floor out of order at one time, they can do it in sections. That is what they did when they started the BRV renovations a few years ago. The refurb has been announced, it can take the site a while to reflect current information.

Both types are resort view, one has a shower only and the other has a bathtub.

There's not. It just appeared this way sometime last year. I think they did it to make things similar to how other resorts label their rooms. Plus "resort" sounds better than "standard."

Returned on Monday from a split stay that started at BWV and finished at CCV (home ). We were in a one bedroom and I had made the simple request of "near lobby" during online check in as my dad has been moving pretty slowly with some back pain. We were assigned 5105 and darn if I haven't been spoiled for all future trips. The view of Bay Lake is lovely, if a tad obscured by trees, but I think I enjoyed opening my door onto the lobby even more! And loved being able to just dart across and down the stairs to the fireplace above the main entrance. AND being just around the corner from the elevators. Delightful!

Can't wait until our next trip, to see how this refurbishment goes. Hope all my neighbors enjoy their upcoming Spring Break and summer trips!

We had that villa the last time we visited. Loved it for all the reasons you mention!
