Question about upgrading the free dining pin

I got the pin for free QSDP today but would like to know if we can upgrade to regular dining and pay the difference? That would be awesome if so. We plan on staying at a moderate resort if that makes a difference. I need to call but am cooking dinner. I am just way excited so I had to ask, thanks!

If the rules of the Free Dining PIN are the same as the other Free Dining offers, than yes. You just pay the difference.

I just finished booking, they let me upgrade to the regular dining and just pay the difference. I am off to find out what the difference was though because it was more then $10 but not too much. I forgot to ask specifics, I was just happy to be booking! Total savings for our trip $952!

I had received a QSDP pin in January, when I booked I upgraded to the regular dining plan and paid the difference of $10 per person per night (all adults).

This year the basic ddp is different prices for different times of the year. During busier times it cost more. Maybe your dates fall within the higher price/surcharge time.

Here are the dates that the price of the basic ddp are higher:

Starting in 2010, the additional cost (on top of a regular Magic Your Way package) varies depending on the time of year:

1/01/10 - 2/11/10, 4/11/10 - 6/03/10, 8/15/10 -12/16/10 is $41.99 per night per adult or junior (ages 10-17), $11.99 per night for children (ages 3-9).

2/12/10 - 4/10/10, 6/04/10 - 8/14/10, 12/17/10 - 12/31/10 is $46.99 per night per adult or junior (ages 10-17), $12.99 per night for children (ages 3-9).

Yeah we are going during the higher cost time. I was racking my brain yesterday trying to figure out where the extra money was coming from because I kept reading over and over that it was $10/$2 to upgrade it. Ah well I certainly won't complain DDP for a little more then $400 for the week for my family instead of $1400 is good any day in my book!
