Another cool start to the day, 35 now going to 54.
It's getting scary the way people are driving on this long stretch of road.
That was across the street from my house. I was out in the back and heard a bang, but didn't think anything of it until I went to the living room and saw cars lined up in the street. I looked out and that's what I saw. Some lady (claims she hit a hole, but there are no holes or storm gulley's on that side of the road), and took out 3 mailboxes, then went through the parking lot of the bldg, and somehow ended up hitting the elec pole. No one can figure out how she got anywhere near the pole facing that direction. The pole is cracked, but it doesn't look like the electric company is going to do anything about it. I don't think it affected the wires, because the power didn't even flash off at all. There were no other cars involved. I could see inside and no airbags were deployed. The driver was fine, but the younger girl hit the windshield (which you can see), and refused treatment, despite having a large gash on her forehead with a flap of skin showing.
The little boys next door came running over holding a mailbox (their mother had gone across the street and picked them up) and asked if it was mine. Mine is in a locked cluster box across the street in the other direction. So it was her mailbox, the guy next door to her, and the one for the business that's in the bldg she drove through the parking lot of.
The 2 people in the car were sitting in chairs against that bldg waiting for a ride. Come to find out, it's the Aunt of the neighbor next door who was driving. Anyhow, one sheriff car left, the firetrucks and ambulance left, and 1 sheriff stayed to wait until the people's ride came. An hour later they were still all sitting out there, so the sheriff put them in his car and took them wherever.
That's 2 accidents dangerously close to my house in the last month, after not having any accidents out here in a couple of years.
Off to get laundry and chores done. Have a good day.
