How is your son's wedding planning going?

Thanks for asking...in the spirit of brutal honesty it's a bit of a sh*t show right now.
BUT, it will work out in the end, so I'm trying to just not overly fuss over things out of my control.

nononono....everything is fine! It's just the usual stress and last minute plans/ideas/things that need to be done! Nothing out of the ordinary for a run of the mill wedding I'm sure.

Wedding is on our farm in late July. I think you are good for rain on Friday - sounds like a fun show, enjoy!

DH and I always said the real purpose of the honeymoon was to recover from the wedding planning!

Both Tom and I are feeling much better! Our Houston family gets to Philly on Thursday, and we are meeting them with others at the Phillies game on Saturday. Then they come to CM for 8 nights!

Good afternoon

We are, thanks to God, long safely home. Dad was able to get himself a soft new mattress pad cover at Kohls this morning for only $1.82 after our gift card and coupon. That was certainly a blessing and the way to get that! We did both agree that unless Kohls sends us anymore free $ amount coupons, we have no need to go back anytime soon. Prices are so high and as I shared from our last experience, quality has sadly gone way down, the same with selection.

We did get a few things at both 99 and a Target. Extra glad having gone out to be warmer and safer here at We may shopt at JC Penney via our this afternoon. As an Fyi, Penneys until Sunday is offering 30% on selected items which includes the I like so I might get a second pair.

Easyas, your farm sounds like a lovely wedding spot especially during the Summer

PollyannaMom, when I was younger and enjoyed traveling some, I often felt in need of a vacation from my vacation when I came home. I know that's not the same as a wedding but similar idea.

Good morning. It is 50 right now going into the 60s today. The smoke from the Nova Scotia wildfires is still here. Last evening it made the sun look a bit spooky, orangy pink. The air quality is not great. I cam smell smoke a bit when I am out walking. I hope they can get those under control. I am having lunch with my friend today. We are meeting halfway between our places this time. It is at a restaurant Chris and I went to all the time. I have been back there since Chris passed with Kenny and with both my good friends in this area. When I think of my friends I realize I have lost 3 really good friends, two live far away, and I have 2 within 2 hours of me. I do not have a large social group but that is fine with me. I am a true introvert and prefer it this way.

Off to work a bit early so I can go to lunch early. Have a good day.m

@Snowysmom, I saw the weird/cool sun yesterday evening as well. I haven't really smelled the smoke, but just hope everyone near the fires is OK and they can minimize the damage.

Had a good time at a Lodge dinner last night. They gave out scholarships, so there were more guests than usual and we sat with some new people. Dinner was decent, but the desserts were amazing!

Today is just some housework and shopping. It's sunny (behind the haze) right now, but we may have some scattered showers later.

Sad today for me today. My little cat Cheeto-Milo had a seizure yesterday when I got home from work and sadly passed away. He was only 2.

@footballmouse So sorry to hear about Cheeto-Milo. Such a pretty furbaby. Know that he's not suffering and is running free on the Rainbow Bridge with all of our departed pets. I said a prayer for him, and for you, I know how broken hearted you feel, having lost way too many of my cats over the years.

Good morning. We actually got rain last night. A huge downpour, that lasted all of 10 minutes, lol. At least it was enough to give the ground a little much needed water.
Don's sons are in town today. Since their Mom is still here helping Summer, they made the trip so they could see Don and Mary in the same visit. I won't be here, I'm going out shopping. I need to get out of the house, and they're mostly here to see him anyhow. They won't stay long, they have a 4 1/2 hour drive back, and both of them have to work early tomorrow morning.

I forgot to post this picture yesterday. When 2 of you mentioned the orange sun, it made me remember. This is the moon here from Monday night. It was beautiful, but very eerie looking at the same time. Have a great day everyone!

Hello all. Just a quick "howdy" as I was scanning the thread and wanted to reply to a few things.

Thanks to all who gave their suggestions for bug relief. I had completely forgotten about Skin So Soft. I am going to try and find some and see if that works.

@footballmouse- So sorry to hear about your little Cheeto. It's always so very hard to lose a pet, but even worse when they are so young and it comes out of no where. He was lucky you were his human as I'm sure you gave him a wonderful life and home.

Everyone else, take care. I'm having a rough couple of days, my emotions seem to be really off kilter recently. I have finally gotten an appointment with my PCP in July, so hopefully we can get some things figured out regarding my mood swings/hormone issues. Sending hugs and prayers to everyone who is still in the middle of the "ick".
