Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

Good morning all. Got my morning chores all done. Bed stripped and remade, sheets in the washer now. Fed the cats and birds, cleaned the litterboxes, and gave one of the cats a bath. She was a little smelly, lol. Now she smells like oatmeal and coconut (cat shampoo). She's not happy with me, but I toweled her off,,she shook herself a few times, and is settled down having some treats. It's cloudy now,,but they say sun and 75. If it's nice this afternoon, I will burn the brush pile so I can till for the first time in another day or so.

Have a nice morning all @Snowysmom -- :grouphug:

My sons and I are going to the condo to do some measuring. They were kind enough to give us some time to do that. I am finding myself taking step or 2 backwards now with everything going on. I told my therapist that and she was not surprised. It has been a tough, busy almost 7 months so I have not had alot of time for me or even trying to move forward a bit in my journey. That doesn't help. I am trying to take it one day at a time. I always talk to Chris and do yell at him occasionally for not taking care of himself. I tell him that we were married 45 years and you should have told me your symptoms were worse than I could see. I would have helped and taken care of him. It is hard to sell a house and buy a place and living there without Chris. Sorry to be downer today but it is hard right now.
No downer for me, you've gone through a lot of changes in a short amount of time. Keeping you in my prayers.

Lil Joe discovered that his first tooth fell out overnight! He and DD found it in his bed.

Good Morning and an extra hug to all 🐥

:grouphug:Snowysmom. Indeed we are here and care always.

Prayers for your sister, Bobbiwoz and always for you!

Dad and I just enjoyed some 🥞 I love being able to search for smiles again! :) We're going to check out Old Navy.com to use our Super Cash. Next week, dad is venturing to Ikea to hopefully get a few pieces of needed furniture such as new kitchen chairs and a bookcase so we'll look on their website too. These days online is really the best (safest) way to shop. Gives a new meaning to grandma's saying so many years ago of letting your fingers do the walking!

Wishing all of you a happy day with love.

Kirby, so glad you got the break you needed.:)

Tom and I are fine, but DSis tested positive for Covid, and she and her Honey were to spend next week in WDW. I cancelled the DVC room. DVC did restore all points to original use year. However DSis feels worse over losing the vacation than having Covid. Her Honey had fought cancer, successfully it seems, most of last year. This trip was very special to them.

We were together here for Easter with another friend, and the rest of us tested negative.
Yikes! Sorry to hear that your sister has to go through this. Hopefully it will pass quickly and be mild.

83 and nothing but sun. I debated putting the ac on, but decided that all the ceiling fans going and open windows was good for today. The ac may go on tomorrow though. I took the extra tarp off the gas grill, took off the cover and cleaned it. Cleaned the grill and put a new tank on to have it ready for the season. Broke up more branches and made a bigger brush pile to burn. Too hot to stand near it and watch while it burns so waiting for a little cooler day
Dinner is homemade pizzas on naan garlic bread. Pepperoni, italian sausage, pizza sauce, mozzarella and basil on mine. Mr L is making his with pineapple, sausage and mushrooms. He just finished making the side salads for us. I did 2 more loads of laundry, including the blanket and bedspread from our bed. Lazy cats sleeping on it have cat hair everywhere. The little boy next door (Cash-4) asked if he could help me break up branches. I told him to go ask his mom and if she said yes he could. He did a few, then wandered off to play with the cats, lol

have a nice evening all

@lynxstch and @Judique you two are always doing soo much...makes me feel like a real slacker.

We have been to the Two Stones in Jennerville and Kennett Square, each twice. I like the food and the beer.
I rarely eat out but get take out often. I have two problems - reflux and food sensitivities - particularly MSG, which can ruin a day for me. I can usually tell which it is by whether I am feeling my throat constrict or throwing up. It doesn't happen often but we ate over in Celebration and I only had a couple of bites before I was done. It's embarrassing. I've eaten there before, ordered the same item and didn't have a problem, but it's been a couple of years.
After Tessa was born, I caught everything she had. Now DH thinks it catches everything Carter has.
The last couple of years I've stayed fairly virus free. The girls have been sick and I've tried to stay away a bit.
Hola everyone-
Day full of yard work, we stopped at 4 for a beer & a few minutes of fishing down by the dock.
Chicken wings for dinner.
Dang I’m beat! I think it will be a early night for us!

My day was also yard work. My right side neighbor came and helped me with some heavy stuff, and I'm going to buy him a tool tomorrow so he can help some more and keep the tool. He's been amazing and never wants any money. This is a way for me to pay him without going through the refusals.

Haven't asked DD what's for dinner but we have some freezer food that should be eaten.

77 here but hot enough for me! I have a gas grill that I rarely use. We prefer a charcoal fire. And we don't do much grilling period, but I do like to grill asparagus.

I was looking at my other neighbor's grass and debated offering to run my mower over it. As it turned out I stayed busy and got tired out on my own side. Usually the son comes and does the grass for them with the ride on which is now broken and the push mower.

So if they don't show tomorrow, I'll offer on Monday morning. My big mower will catch most of it and son and family can trim it. He's probably ordered a replacement by now, but some things are slow to arrive.

Loved reading through this post - it's the "chat over the fence with a neighbour" kind of feel.

I'm watching my fence closely, as the house next door (and the coach house behind it) have just been listed and it's the Open House today. I'm so excited (and nervous...) to be getting some new neighbours! The homes here are over 100 years old, and we took ours to the studs and rebuilt it in 2008. Many other homes on the block have done the same in the last decade, so it's been an exciting transformation. It's been four years of construction (well - at least a year of permits before they could begin), so it will be lovely to welcome some new people into the fold.

COVID has brought some of us closer together as neighbours - from coordinating milk/toilet paper/staples shopping trips in the earliest days, to having backyard "drive-in" movies with lawn chairs, blankets and an outdoor projector (usually Disney films to keep things open for the young girl next door). So hello to all from across the virtual fence!

Here's a cautionary tale for you. I ordered a lightweight beach chair on a whim without doing research. It was 4 pounds and my others are double that. Immediately after ordering I had second thoughts.

Checked Amazon and it was only a few dollars cheaper, so calmed down a bit. It was $58 with tax and 'free' shipping. Amazon was about $54 with tax and we have prime.

It came today, shipped from Amazon! But, I don't like it. It's definitely light but not comfortable so has to go back.

So, I've emailed the company and now I wait. I had considered canceling the order and getting it through Amazon but by the time I made a decision, they had shipped it.

Somehow I think I'm going to come out on the short end of this transaction.

Waving good afternoon/early evening,

Please send some sun my way! I've been cool all day. Looking forward to a warmer Sunday :)

Aw, to Cash. He's a keeper neighbor, Lynn! Let me know if you think he'd enjoy some stickers ever :)

No mail here yet. We did place an online Old Navy order. Dad has been looking for lighter pajama pants forever. I hope the ones he got on Old Navy and will order on Target, so he'll have two to choose from and maybe keep, will work out.

A Tail of Love is on Hallmark tonight at 8 and tomorrow evening at 6pm. I will probably record it on May 1st at noon. Are any of you recording this? Please share whether you give it a paws up:dogdance:or not.

:grouphug: to all.

Good morning. It is 46 and cloudy. It is supposed to go into the 50s a bit and the sun should come out.

I went to the condo yesterday with my sons. Older DS saw it for the first time, likes it alot, and thinks it is a good place for me to be. The landscaping is being done now so it is pretty with flowers. They do take care of the property. I measured for rugs and curtains for the sliders. I like it and it is the best of everything I saw. I am just not excited about moving. I know I have to have a place to live and this does have all the requirements but it is an emotional thing for me right now.

Everyone seems very busy with outside work. That is something I did as a kid to help my Dad but now it holds no appeal for me. I like to be outside, just not working outside.

Have a nice Sunday.

Good Sunday morning to all. Its 55 outside and going near 90 today. Had the windows open all night for sleeping, felt so good! No plans for the day yet..may just get in the car and go for a ride just to get out of the house. At least I got the ac unit uncovered yesterday so if I have to hit the cool setting on the thermostat, it won't be an oven in here.

Putting a bbq brisket in the crock pot, undecided if I want to bother making potato salad to go with it..or just throwing a couple of potatoes in the air fryer to bake. Making coleslaw to go with either.

Have a nice morning

A condo sounds great to me right now after all the yard work yesterday. But it would be difficult to give up my flowers and birds and budding lilacs - yes - I've got a few blooms on the small bush! That is exciting for me. Doesn't take much, lol!

It is supposed to go to 82 today so I'm pondering cooking something simple on the BBQ. Like asparagus and burgers and buy some potato salad. I'm not that motivated to fix the salad.

I have a choice with the outdoor work. I don't have to do it. DD has repeatedly offered to pay for a lawn service, because she does not enjoy it. She gets stuffed up and sneezes a lot. I rarely bother her for outdoor work unless it's something heavy I can't lift. She has also offered to pay for housecleaning and I'm ready for that. I can no longer reach up high or get down low easily as I will sometimes get dizzy. So, changes coming soon.

This morning I went out and started cleaning up the daylilies. Mine are all yellow and they border the circle part of my patio wall. Three years ago I got a huge bucket full from a friend who needed to divide hers out. There were so many I gave some to two neighbors also. Probably next year I will have to dig and replant to keep them from going green.

I now have big plans for my front yard near the street. I think I will have most of it dug up and replant stuff. Some of the bulbs can be reused and I will go to the nursery and look for some annuals for a change. I have a lovely Japanese Maple in the center and it is the slow growing, short kind. It is barely 4 feet and has been there for about 10 years, given to me on Mother's Day by my older DD (requested instead of cut flowers). But it is full and wide and the leafy branches almost touch the ground on either side. I love it! The rest of the stuff is way out of control and needs taming down and some probably should be removed.

Have a nice day all!
