How do you do your fish? Always looking for a new way to cook it.

Slice up some onion, and a lemon. Place a few slices of each, as well as some sliced up bell pepper on a sheet of foil. Place the fish on top, season to your liking, maybe put another slice of lemon or onion on top if you are so inclined. I also add some capers. Crimp up the foil and put in oven or over the grill.

Feel better prayers to all in need and a Friday extra hug to each of you! Thank you all again so much for your kind dentist prayers and wishes. I am excited about Sue's birthday surprise. She was excited when I spoke with her last night :)

Cool morning here. Sunday it is supposed to be 84! Yay :sunny:Expecting some packages today otherwise, quiet Friday around here.

Have a good day everyone and please do something just for you!

That is how we do our fish, too! But we don’t make it much as DD can’t stand the smell of fish. She’ll gag, lol. So often we’ll order it if we go out. I almost got it last night, but couldn’t resist the chicken parm instead.

Got the official email, dog was adopted. Had already accepted it knowing that’s where it was headed. They were really nice about it, at least, and responsive, with emails to update me, which no one has ever done before without an inquiry. So I really like this rescue group. Thankfully I have my Toto. :lovestruc We have it in our hearts to give another dog a home. It’s just a matter of finding the right one. Every one we have applied for has already been gone. I guess dogs get scooped up fast around here, which is why so many come up from the south. (As had this dog.) I am not in a rush to get one. I am looking for a certain type with a certain personality, which I know will work best for our family, so the window is relatively narrow. We’ll see what happens. It’s just hard to get my hopes up. It takes a while to get through the process once you see a dog advertised for adoption. This group has said they will keep an eye out for me now that they know what I am looking for. I’m already approved so that would hasten the process if I see one. I would love to take one in need from Ukraine, but the US is not taking animals from out of the country now due to a rabies issue they had with one a few years back.

Thats about it. Tonight I have some hot dogs we have to use up, might just have those with beans. Simplify. Gearing myself up for a work weekend.

Snowysmom I hope you feel better. My SIL has also been sick. She thinks it was from allergies, but being around young kids it seems there is always some sort of germ going around. Can’t wait for grandkids, but not looking forward to that part!

Yesterday DD and I almost went to look at a condo. She saw it when she was looking at something else, so she made an inquiry. Turned out it was already under agreement (story of our lives, I guess!), but it was good that it came up. She’s been saving and paying down her loans and car as this is ultimately her goal. So I think she got a small taste of what it feels like to find something that would work for her, and it was nice. DS is going into the testing phase of the class he’s been taking. Praying that all goes well for him so he can have that behind him. We already got him some related gifts that we’ll give him once he’s done, and we’ll take him out to celebrate. He’s done a nice job with it.

Happy Friday! :dogdance:

Got some laundry done last night :laundy:. Today I'll get the house cleaned and wash the sheets. I work this weekend so I won't have time to do it then. It's supposed to get close to the 80's this weekend. So crazy, we had snow on Monday and 5 days later it will be 80 outside :sunny:. Since I'm working 3rd shift this weekend, hopefully I can take advantage of the nice weather for a little bit on Sunday.

Actually made dinner last night. I'll take some to work tonight for dinner and I'm going to run some up to my aunt today.

I kept forgetting to get bird seed at the store so I just ordered some through Chewy and had it shipped with the cat litter, finally got it yesterday. I'll fill the bird feeder up out back, I'm sure the birds were wondering what the heck happened.

I've been seeing the mess down in Florida about dissolving Reedy Creek ::MickeyMo. Florida's governor must be really pissed at Disney to do this and put the tax burden on to the property owners now. I wouldn't want my property taxes to go up that much over something like this.

I need to clean the sheets that the dogs lay on that are kept on the couch and bed but they're still sleeping and I don't want to wake them up so I guess that will wait a little longer this morning :dog:.

Well I need to fit in some work today so I guess I need to get busy. Have a great weekend and hopefully you have some sunshine! :sunny:

My birds are also wondering why I'm getting stingy with the bird seed. But, the big bag has increased to 22.99 from 14.99 when I first started buying it. So, also my feeders take so much, and then the squirrels eat it or hide it. so first come first serve!

Have you looked into John Deere? My DH has a zero radius and loves it. He also has a John Deere backhoe. When DH bought it the only one available in the model he wanted was in Arizona. They shipped it to him free of charge. Sometimes this time of year they have special deals going.

Yes I did,,but the only place here that sells John Deere is Lowes..and all of the ones they have do not have good reviews. I I have had Cub Cadets for years, and totally trust them, so going with that brand.

Its 69 and beautiful outside. I took the cover off the central air unit, hosed it down and have it hanging on the clothesline in the sun. Got out the weedwacker and did the edges of the driveway and all of the bank by the street. Going to wash the car next and then I quit

Good morning. I just realized that it was after 9 and I never put my morning check in up. I got started doing stuff around here, and it slipped my mind.

Bright sunshine outside, going to be beautiful, and warm the next several days. It was kind of nice to look at the lawn and see that it hasn't grown tall enough yet to mow. The other day when we were doing errands, we drove by Tractor Supply, and there I see 2 of the Cub Cadet riding mowers that I am looking for sitting outside. I would get it there, but they don't deliver, and they don't service what they sell. And I would rather give my business to the Outdoor Power place closer to me. I am going to wait just a little longer, and if they don't get them, I will find someone with a truck, and get the one at Tractor Supply. It's the exact same price, but they also don't have the mulch kit or the snow plow thing that you can put on the front for winter.

I was thinking of burning the brush pile today..have to wait and see if it's windy after 4. Burning permits required (I have one) , but you can't burn till after 4 pm. So we will see. Thinking of getting Chinese for dinner..haven't gotten it since November!

Have a good day all--@Snowysmom--feel better!

We all have our picks for lawn tractors! My neighbor has had a Craftsman since the family bought it for him one father's day some time back. He doesn't even ride it himself anymore as he's up in age. Son comes and does the lawn for him while son's wife drives the mower around, usually once a week in mowing season.

Anyway, I've watched them have to call 'the guy' to service that thing at least once or twice a year. So, I'd probably not pick that brand although I do have some craftsman tools that I like. Anyway, he says he needs a new one and wanted to know who I got to pick up and deliver mine. Well, that was Home Depot and it was included so no help from me.

Is there any possibility that if you buy the cub cadet from Tractor Supply that you can get service done through the Ourdoor Power place, since they don't have the machine itself to sell you?

I chip up all the brush and put it in cans to be taken away, but I notice my other neighbor has taken to burning his. I prefer to have it recycled into leaf gro but I know not all areas do this.

Happy Friday all...been reading but haven't commented much.

@Kirby and @Snowysmom I hope you all feel better soon.

@bobbiwoz glad your treatments are going well.

@flyingdumbo127 so glad your dentist appt went well and I'm so glad the 99c store got back to you and are able to do something for your friend.

@frog3101 so sorry things are rough right now. We're here if you need us to listen.

@Breezy_Carol beautiful flowers and such a cute pup to be able to borrow. :)

@tazdev3225 LJ looks so big with his haircut. Soo cute.

@lynxstch and @Judique you two are always doing soo much...makes me feel like a real slacker.

@easyas123 never been to any of those places but I can't wait to hear about where you decide to go. Soo exciting. Dh and I can't wait to get back to Europe, Italy specifically, but we will definitely venture to more places than last time.

@Pea-n-Me sorry to hear you missed out on another dog. DH and I have been talking about it might being time to start looking for another dog soon. Buddy is really showing his age the last couple weeks and as much as I said I wanted to take a dog break after he passes, I don't think we'll be able to do that...makes us to too sad to think about it.
@dazedx3 still thinking about you too. :grouphug:
@PollyannaMom and @footballmouse didnt forget you two, just forgot what I was going to say....lol I really need to start remembering to use quotes again...lol

I've been feeling a little down lately....probably has to do with the anniversary of my mom's passing coming up in a couple weeks. I felt hurt no one from my mom's side of the family called or sent a text for Easter. We've(my siblings and I) have always sort of felt like the black sheep family, and even more so with my mom gone. My brother and sister have been a little more standoff-ish with everyone for awhile now but I still made the effort trying to make it family parties and keeping in touch but I'm starting to see it more and more lately. It might just be more hurtful feeling right now because I'm feeling low anyway. I was planning on going to a family birthday this weekend but decided against it and went out of town yesterday with DH instead. We'll be gone though the weekend and into next week.

On our drive up, we pass through the town of Gilroy, which is known as the garlic capitol of the world (...US,maybe... I don't know which but one of them.)😆 Yesterday passing though town, OMGoodness...it smelled soo yummy. I don't know if they were harvesting or processing at the plant in town but YUM.

Hope you all have a good rest of the day...hopefully getting out of town will help me feel a little better. Our friends are with us, and even though the guys are going to be working long hours, us girls have plans to do some walking around the little town area here.

Thanks!

Spent the day running errands with Lou Lou. My, she hasn't gotten so independent the last couple of weeks. And she wants everything done her way. I almost turned around and went home but we got through it.

Still really nice outside,,74. Just finished mowing the lawn. Decided to do it today, as it wasn't that tall..and it will be too warm the next few days. Guy on other side of me was mowing and weedwacking too. Told him about the guy on the other side (drug/arrested guy), and he said that's why they have been leaving their back yard light on all night long. They saw the cop come through our yard last weekend,,and asked what was up, so I told them. She had planted tomato plants 3 weeks ago, even though I tried to tell her it was too early. She lost all of them in the 4 1/2" of snow and cold cold nights we had. She has more in the house and is going to wait a few more weeks to plant them.

We went down and got Chinese to bring home. I got Orange Chicken, which I never tried before..it was good. Came with fried rice, broccoli, carrots and egg roll. Mr L got shrimp with lobster sauce which he said was very good. It was a good change of pace, and no dishes to wash..lol

Have a nice evening everyone..I am off to relax and watch tv for the rest of the night

Very glad to hear the weather is nicer for you both Bobbiwoz and Lynn.

Hug, Grandma Kirby. Lou Lou is indeed at the young "it's my way only" stage. She is extra blessed to have kind you in her life!

I am so blessed to have received a second sweet email from Jan at 99. Such a kind lady! The basket will be delivered on Sue's birthday. She loved that Sue's favorite colors are blue and pink which are the colors of 99 (blue and magenta). She said just to let her know whether I come up with any particular items Sue would like. Post Covid, I pray to get to meet Jan to thank her in person.

Wishing everyone a cozy and nice evening.

Just a quick HI!

Didn't do much today. Did an online grocery order and picked it up. Just didn't feel like doing the shopping.

I made fish for dinner tonight too. It's an easy recipe. Mix a box of Mexican Rice, can of petite diced tomatoes, and 1.5 cups of water in a sauce pan and heat to boiling. Put it in an 8X8 pan and cover with foil. Cook in oven at 375 for 10 minutes, Place fish filets on top of rice. I have used tilapia, mahi mahi, and salmon. Recipe calls for lemon slices and pepper on the fish but I just shake some lemon pepper seasoning on. Recover with foil and return to oven for 20 minutes more. Let stand 5 minutes before serving. Very tasty.

How was it? Never been -
We have been to the Two Stones in Jennerville and Kennett Square, each twice. I like the food and the beer.

Healing vibes to everyone dealing with stuffiness and coughs.
DH has a cold now. I am just waiting to see if I get it.

Can’t wait for grandkids, but not looking forward to that part!
After Tessa was born, I caught everything she had. Now DH thinks it catches everything Carter has.

Good night every one. It's bedtime.

Thanks for the recipe Carol!

I was really in a mood this afternoon. Couldn't seem to shake it but I finally did this evening. DH and I went to Soulman's and had a double barrel baked potato. Mine had chopped brisket and his was sliced brisket. Guess I just needed a little time away from the house.

@flyingdumbo127 How nice of the 99 cent store to make up a basket for your friend.

@AuntieMe3 :grouphug: Sending thought and prayers to you. It is hard to lose your mom and even harder when some family is not there for support and just a, how are you doing.

Good morning. It is 40 degrees now and sunny. The temps should go into the 60s today.

My sons and I are going to the condo to do some measuring. They were kind enough to give us some time to do that. I am finding myself taking step or 2 backwards now with everything going on. I told my therapist that and she was not surprised. It has been a tough, busy almost 7 months so I have not had alot of time for me or even trying to move forward a bit in my journey. That doesn't help. I am trying to take it one day at a time. I always talk to Chris and do yell at him occasionally for not taking care of himself. I tell him that we were married 45 years and you should have told me your symptoms were worse than I could see. I would have helped and taken care of him. It is hard to sell a house and buy a place and living there without Chris. Sorry to be downer today but it is hard right now.

I do hope everyone has a nice day.

Kirby, so glad you got the break you needed.:)

Tom and I are fine, but DSis tested positive for Covid, and she and her Honey were to spend next week in WDW. I cancelled the DVC room. DVC did restore all points to original use year. However DSis feels worse over losing the vacation than having Covid. Her Honey had fought cancer, successfully it seems, most of last year. This trip was very special to them.

We were together here for Easter with another friend, and the rest of us tested negative.
