Re: child lost...when DD#2 was about 2 1/2, I had put her down for her nap, and once she was asleep, I laid down as well. (I worked nights, and didn't get home until about 2am some nights, and she was always up by 7am.) she usually slept 2-1/2 hours, but never less than 2. Well, the little darling got up about an hour later, and instead of waking her tired mommy, decided to unlock the door; bring her stool over to reach the chain and undo it; and go toddling off to find her aunt (who lived in the same apt building, down one floor and on the opposite end. She was gone maybe 15 minutes when I woke up. I tore down to my sister, and she hadn't seen DD, so her kids (2 teens, 1 preteen), sister, and me all took off looking for her. Found her with a gentleman and his son at the other building behind us (same complex, just 2 buildings back to back with an alley between them), carrying her and looking for her family. I was in hysterics; I grabbed her so fast and I think I incoherently thanked the guy before just bawling my eyes out. She was crying too; my sister talked to the person, and he sent his son to tell his other kid, who was on the home phone with the police, that they found the family. (this was well before cell phones, lol...pagers weren't even a thing!) She thanked him a lot; but I truely can't remember if I did or not.
OMG you are so lucky someone found her and kept her safe till you got to her..that would have scared the life out of me!
That wasn't the last disappearing act she pulled; she did it twice when she was 6 and at least once as a teenager. That child is the reason I have gray hairs.

A few days ago, I branched out and made
Shakshuka for dinner. (Tomato based sauce that you poach eggs in) The sauce came out really well; but I overcooked the eggs...it was more hard boiled egg in tomato sauce instead of poached. LOL I had leftover sauce, so last night, I added some Italian sausage and made pasta with it. So good!
Tonight, I'm just roasting veggies (broccoli, cauliflower and carrots, leftovers from doing fondue the night before shakshuka), making zucchini fritters, and Mexican street corn, for dinner. Cleaning out the fridge a little bit, lol. Well, my plans were changed. DH said "let's order dinner" and who am I to argue, LOL! So, Chili's it is!
Someone on BBQ Brawl on Food Network made that last week I think it was. Theirs didn't come out so well either, lol! I agree with your husband..glad you got Chili's take out tonite!
I bought DH some shirts, that I refuse to be seen with him in. LOL
This one,
this one,
this one (which isn't that bad), and
this one. He thinks they are great, and they are good quality. They run small; DH is usually a 3XL or 3XLT because he has a long torso and arms, and big shoulders (he can wear a XL undershirt, but they are very form fitting, lol), and the 3XL fit, but they are tight across the shoulders if he stretches his arms at all, and they hit about 2" too short for his liking; so he went with 4XL. He'll wear them on Fridays, for 'Hawaiian shirt' day.
I like that grayish blue one,,but I would refuse to be seen with him in the other one..lol!
DGS#3 had a big week. He turned 5, had a party at a bounce place; went to his first baseball game; had to get his 5 year old check up and shots; and fractured a growth plate in his foot. DD#1 is getting very round (lol, she would kill me if I said that around her); she's due in just under 2 months, but looks like she's further along.
I haven't been walking since I fell. The pain finally stopped, then we had 2 days of severe weather; and today, I was going to walk after putting the first load in the dryer. Found a very wet lint trap and some water in the drum and on the door. Turns out, with the very cold air in the apartment, and the very hot moist air outside the apartment, condensation builds up in the dryer if I leave the door closed. (I cleaned the vent and hose, they had a small amount of wet lint in them but not much, so it wasn't clogged; and after I ran the dryer and let it cool, I ran the test from the manufacturer, and it came back with no codes, so no damage.) So, lesson learned...leave the dryer door open.
Its always something isn't it..I have had my 3 for the week, so I hope its done with!
That's all that's going on in my little world. Hope everyone has a good Wednesday!
