Thanks everyone. I'm very lucky he is still alive. He didn't want to go to the hospital and mom over ruled him. If she had waited til the morning he would have died. His vitals were extremely low, even his temperature was below 90. Thankfully the hospital has him in some warmer that keeps warm air flowing around him that activates when his temperature drops. His heart rate and BP are back up too. They were critically low. I went to see him and he doesn't look great. He has what is most likely another kidney infection. Hopefully the antibiotics will start kicking in soon.

I had rewards from Home Depot so I got the stain and paint for the new windows and doors. Now I need to find the energy to do the painting/staining.

I hope you are all weel. Those with the cold weather stay warm. Those in the LA rea stay safe

Sounds like a Bair Hugger. They probably have him on some meds to keep his BP up, too. Glad he’s doing better. 🙏

That was what my daughter told me it was called. I just totally forgot what she called it. His BP has been all over the place lately. At almost 89 I guess it comes with the age and his medical issues that have been ongoing.

I read that the Santa Ana and El Nino winds are going to roar through CA this week, with winds of 70 mph. That's not good for trying to get the fires out. It's such a horrible situation. Prayers for everyone, especially the first responders who are doing their ultimate best.
The Santa Ana winds are back indeed. But they aren't nearly as severe as they were last week, so that's helpful. It is chilly (for our area) and we received a warning that our power may get shut off again to prevent any new fires. The first responders have been amazing. Many restaurants in L.A. are offering them free meals. DH works with a lot of firefighters. They always say that a hot, tasty meal can really help lift their spirits and keep them going.

Tazdev Glad your Dad is doing better and mom overruled him and got him to the hospital. More prayers for your Dad and family.

LuckyRabbit How nice that restaurants are feeding the hard working first responders. We are so fortunate to have those who are willing to do the hard dangerous work to help keep everyone safe. Times like these people do help each other and bring out the best.

Good morning. It is 27 now with temps only going to around 29. I went to the lake to walk yesterday but there was only one person there so I left. I am not comfortable walking around unless there are many people. Some come from the condo complex at the top of the hill nearby but not yesterday. So I went to the pet store to get some pet friendly ice melt. I need it for my steps and walk. I walked around there and I walked around Market Basket to get steps in and buy a few needed items. Today I am getting the TDAP vaccine. It has been 10 years. I last got it before Ellie was born and she will be 10 this year. Hard to believe my grandbaby girl will be 10 in a few months.

Have a good day.

Good morning! Starting to see some bare patches as the snow melts! Rain is expected here on the weekend. That should take out some of it before the temps drop more.

On another note my dentist's office called and asked if I wanted my appointment tomorrow at 8am. I said ok. Had an 11:20 appt for Thursday, so now my day will not be split in two.

Almost halfway through this month and getting closer to last week in February and my next trip south. Can't wait to see family! My niece and I have been emailing, setting up stuff. This trip I'll be gone for 18 days, which is a long time for me. My DD knows its at least two weeks this time, at least I think she does!

Next year 2026 is also being set up as the days move forward. I've already scheduled a week in November, and December and I'm working on January's week. February 2026 is also in the mix but January and February will be discussed with family and hopefully we can do a house for that trip.

I've been having the 'I want a new car' thoughts again. First of all my 2017 is perfect right now, other than it is still small. That is the problem - it won't grow up and be larger when I need more space!

DD says she can understand why I would want to get a larger car. She's bigger than me and says it's squishy to her. When someone is in the front with me, there's no space for my handbag.

Talking it over with DS, his opinion is my car does not need replacement. He's pragmatic and correct in his thinking but he also understands that 'want' is what's driving me.

I always get the 'wants' whenever I go on a trip where I might have more people in the car than just myself. Not talking just my DD going for a local run, but other family going to the beach or going south for a week or two.

My car expense is close to zero right now. A tank of gas about once a month (hybrid) and oil changes plus for a 2017 it only has 56K miles.

I'm considering a lease. DS says take a look at it. I'm just slightly afraid I won't get all the options I want. That's a Long List, lol as I'm spoiled by my current options. A lease would commit me for 3 years and I could escape at the end and start new.

I absolutely know I should wait until closer to the end of the year, but I may 'break' before then.

Good morning. Like snowysmom, we are sitting at 17 and it's only going to 27.

@theluckyrabbit I'm glad to hear that the winds aren't as bad, and that's so nice of restaurants to feed the first responders. Hope things continue to improve, at least somewhat.

The little boys next door are so cute, but their mom would have yelled if she had seen them this morning. I just took the trash down to the street, and I hear "Hi Miss Lynn". I look around and I don't see anyone outside. Then I hear, "We're up here", so I look up at their second floor. They had the storm window up in their bedroom, and they were both hanging out of it waving at me. I told them to close the window and stay warm. Kids! lol

Still trying to chase down missing packages. The other fan from Walmart finally showed up yesterday. But I have another Fed Ex pkg that was supposed to be here on Saturday. It came from Martinsburg, WV, an hour and 15 minutes from here. No pkg came Saturday, tracking says delayed. Yesterday, no pkg, says delayed, still doesn't show as out for delivery today. I call Fed Ex, and the guy put a request in to that hub to find out where the pkg is. Doing someone else's jobs that I don't get paid for is getting tiring!

@tazdev3225 Continued prayers for your Dad's recovery

Have a good day

Hi!…just want to say hi! I spend Sunday and Monday in the hospital. They did many tests to see to see if I’d I had a stroke. It seems not, but now I will need another cardiac clearance. The February date may be changed.

We are still planning to leave on Thursday for the Treasure. I have rented an ECV because whatever it was that sent me to the hospital, I am concerned about my stamina.. I will still have my rollator, and expect to use it, but the ECV is just in case.

We still have plenty of snow around. Roof melt causes our ramp to be icy at night. Most places I go have been shoveled and cleared, but it’s a challenge to get into our house if we get home after dark.

@Judique , best wishes as you decide about a car!

@flyingdumbo127 I hope you are seeing improvement!

Goodnight everyone💤

Bobbiwoz I hope you enjoy your cruise on the Treasure. It is always good to be prepared for whatever your needs may be. Good thoughts and prayers for improving health.

Good morning. It is 21 now with temps heading to 35. It was windy again yesterday so it was very chilly. I got the TDAP yesterday so all set for 10 more years on that. I hope all is well with Mona. I am guessing they have had power outages due to the fires. I know she was concerned about that. Today I hope to get to the lake to walk. It is supposed to be sunny and with temps in the mid 30s so more people should be there. Once I work the 25 hours a week later in the year it will be easier to get to the lake earlier and change gyms to go the one that has more people like me. The one I go to now seems to be mainly younger people working out and trying to impress each other. I like Planet Fitness as it is more low key and not as much throwing around weights and sitting at machines forever. I just need to be able to go at a time when the entertainment complex is not crazy busy with kid and teens and no parking spaces.

Have a good day.

Good morning! 25° here. I thought it was to be warmer today! Going up to 32° but I see where we used to live, in Dayton OH it’s only 1° so, it’s better here.

Just Chiropractor and pack are the main things to do today. Jojo is the gal who takes care of out house. It’s been a long while since we’ve been gone longer than a week, so I will make a “to do” list for her. With heat going on so often, the plants need more frequent watering.

Continued prayers for all affected in any way by the California fires.

Good morning. 14 now going to 25. At least the winds have subsided, it made it feel so much colder than it actually was yesterday. Supposed to get into the 40's for Fri and Sat, then by Monday the temp will be 15 and Tuesday 12 with minus readings. I am so over winter. Vacation is looming and I can't wait!

Not seeing Mona on here yesterday seems strange. I looked up where she lives and it says there are no power outages. I'm hoping that the fires have subsided somewhat, and that things can start to improve for everyone who lives there, and those exhausted first responders.
I'm heading for the market and doing errands while it's still early.

Have a good day

Tazdev Hope your Dad is improving.

Bobbiowz Safe and fun travels

It is strange not to see Mona posting here lately. I hope all is well.

Good morning. It is 15 now with temps heading to 28. I did walk at the lake yesterday and it was chilly so I walked briskly. There were a few other people there. Today I am heading to the gym after work. Jeff has been in San Francisco for a conference and will be home today. Thankfully it is my Thursday to not go into the office.

Off to work. Have a good day.
