Peaceful afternoon prayers to all. Dear Lynn extra prayers your insurance trouble is sorted. You know I am sorry you had to deal with all that. Dear Bobbi, extra healing hug to you and indeed prayers for your friends.
Mona, it's all straightened out. I transferred them myself, called Humana to find out what was going on They approved my meds to be filled today, instead of March when they're due. The pharmacy has them ready to be picked up. I'll do it tomorrow or next week when I go grocery shopping. Now I'll have an extra 2+ months of all of them, thanks to them letting them be filled early! One less mess I have to keep taking care of. Now to get SS straightened out, and I'll be good.

It took from end of March. 2024 until June 14, 2024 for me to receive a Medicare premium refund from Social Security. Came in check form. SS was deducting my already paid premium until they got it stopped. They deducted 2 months of premium. Not to say it will take that long for you, but I went back and traced it as I was curious. I never got around to contacting them about it before I got the refund as I figured it would show up anyway. (Not suggesting you be lax like me!)

I have a friend in CA who has experienced as much as 48 hours of power outages. These outages are due to “public safety.” My prayers for all in CA, many are impacted by these as well as the awful fires.🙏

I have spent this morning watching President Carter’s funeral.

We will be rooting for Notre Dame this evening.
I had to get out and clean off my car as I told everybody not to do it as sometimes moving snow can result in scratches. Was just going to let it melt but I had an errand I needed to do.

Missed the funeral but caught a few news clips. May he rest in peace.

We are supposed to warm up this weekend. This snow is really sticking around much longer than what we usually get. There was still a foot of snow on top of my car.

I'm so glad Lynn! Judique, I'm sorry you have also had insurance trouble. It sure can be frustrating.

Extra safety prayers appreciated here especially for my bathroom trips. I will be reaching out tomorrow to at least one care line that I pray can help. Dad reminded me that with the change of president upcoming, getting through might be harder and there may be different options to come. I just pray compassionate and quality healthcare however someone needs it was truly available. God willing once I am back to normal, I will look into what I can do toward this. As a p.s. We are still fire A ok. Thank you all for your extra concern.

Thanks but it really wasn't a problem for me. I was just waiting until they got around to it. (Actually let it slip my mind.)

Lynn's was different as I think it was some kind of mistake. Mine was going to come whether I did anything or not. I just wanted Lynn to know how long it took for the refund to be finished processing.

I'm thinking of you being near LA area. Please keep us updated. Stay safe and take care of yourself.

Flyingdumbo127 Hope all stays well in your area, no more outages, and you are safe.

Lynn Glad you got things fixed. I changed from Silverscript to wellcare for Part D as the price increase was ridiculous. SS sent me a form showing that the premium would be deducted from the SS. I am new to Part B as of Jan 1 so maybe that is why I got sent a forms showing me all my deductions from my SS payment.

Judique Hope the snow melts soon. Digging a car out from alot of snow is tricky and needs to be done carefully.

Good morning. There will be a bit of a warm up here today, 35 with less wind. I hope to get to the lake today to walk. I was in the office yesterday. the traffic was not too bad either way. The cat is out of the bag as far as my wanting to reduce my work hours. My coworker who gave her notice decided she may want to reduce hours instead by quite a bit. She does alot for the owners of the company and they most likely would love her to stay and work on their stuff. I had told her my plans when we chatted on the phone and she let it slip to my boss when we were talking about things. I immediately told my boss that I was planning on talking with her a bit later in the year. Interestingly she is willing to work with it if the big boss will agree. Monday the coworker who wants to really cut back hours is having a meeting with the big boss and the big big boss to tell them what she wants. The 3 of us, coworker, my boss, and I are going to be united in the changes we want. My boss had my job before me and we are friends too but I never cross the line as far as supervisor/employee relationship goes. With the hours I would give up and the hours she would give up they could hire a person for 40 hours to take on some of our responsibilities. Our group is unique in that except for the new hire we have all been in the group for so many years. I have the least tenure with 17 1/2 years! The company loves that. And we all work well together as a team. So if they want to keep it going and keep people who have the knowledge they need, I hope they will consider it.

Off to work. Happy Friday.

Playing it close to the chest is almost mandatory when considering retirement. Especially in the environment I worked in. Everybody wanted my job. Very few were qualified to actually perform.

I told the necessary people well in advance of my plans. Then I stayed quiet until a very short time before my last working day. I had to burn a lot of vacation time before my actual vacation date so it was all in place. The retirement office had my paperwork ready to go. The rest is history.

@Judique Good advice. I am not talking retirement with anyone at work at this point. I just want to reduce hours for now. When I decide the time is right to outright retire I will tell the necessary people. I keep telling my boss that my retirement plan is when I am gone to a better place. That keeps them guessing. It is to their benefit to hire someone now to learn the company and the accounting style so that if and when someone leaves it will be easier for the remaining staff.

Good morning, sunshine and 15 right now, but going above freezing for the next 4 days, then plunging down to the low 20's again.

@Judique I was amazed when I checked my bank account this morning and saw that SS had refunded me the $47.40 already. I'm thinking they got their wires crossed somewhere. Now they're not taking out more than the increase we got this year.

Cleaned cabinets out yesterday, filled another bag of trash to go out next week.
Yet another issue with Amazon this morning, despite the fact that I have 5 orders coming today, they tried to tell me that my phone # wasn't registered with them. How do they think I sign in using the 2 step verification (which wasn't working right this morning either). They finally decided it was yet another glitch on their end. I use them a lot, especially in winter when I don't want to go to the stores in the cold and snow.

Anyone in CA near the fires, stay safe. I have a relative there who lives at the beach but works in Los Angeles. So far they're safe. But the destruction is indescribable. He said it looks like a war zone. I feel so bad for everyone who lost their homes.

Have a good day everyone.

We're hanging in there! Our power was out for 16+ hours (internet, too), but that wasn't so bad. There are still many, many people who haven't had power for the last 4 or 5 days. It was dark and chilly, but I was very thankful that our gas stove let me keep water boiling for tea and instant foods. The winds were fierce (whole house shaking at times)! DH said he could see the foothills on fire from his Uber. It feels like our whole city is in a state of shock and mourning. The Eaton Fire hit many friends, businesses, restaurants, etc. in our circle -- the level of loss really is unbelievable.

Luckyrabbit The fires and devastation is so tragic and so heartbreaking. I am glad you are safe. Prayers for all who are going through this terrible catastrophe.

Lynn I like your Eeyore picture. It is so true!

Flyingdumbo127 Hope everything is still OK for you.

Good morning. It is 28 here now with light snow. It is supposed to be ongoing for most of the day. They are saying a coating to an inch or 2. I am heading to Jeff's later in the morning so hopefully the highways will be OK. Kenny is coming by to install a new outlet with USB ports. So far this morning I have done online shopping and I need to step away from the computer! LOL! I did need a new blue fleece as my old one looks old and a bit too big now. I also got a bright blue kitchen towel and potholder set to brighten up the kitchen. Then of course I needed a new drying mat for the kitchen and got one with birds on it. Next up is cleaning the bathrooms and master bath shower.

Have a good Saturday.

It is 28 here going to 35, just enough to create more ice. Last night some snow fell, about an inch according to the tops of my trash cans which hopefully will get picked up today.

Filled my birdfeeders in my robe and boots, I'm not ready to get dressed yet. I saw a cat was under my deck by the tracks in the snow. The temporary fence around the feeders is doing its job as cat has to either jump or squeeze through. Enough time wasted for the birds to lift off the ground. But birds will find a way to go to bird heaven: yesterday another little guy smacked into my window and dropped to the ground. DD picked it up and took it away for me.

I'm putting out lots of seed until the ground is clear again. In spring I will rake the shells into the ground so it's sort of fertilizer combined with droppings, actually a rich fertilizer in time.

The cardinals are here first, well before sunrise.

Hope all are doing well.

Good morning. 24 now going above freezing. Same as Judique, we had about 3/4" inch of snow. I heard the plow come by around midnight, and wondered why. I looked out and saw a light dusting. I have no idea why, but that same state highway plow came by every 15 minutes for the next 2 hours. The roads were clear, I have no idea why he was plowing constantly, unless he was killing time since he was on overtime, lol

I swept off the deck and most of what was between the house and the sheds so I could sweep off the ramps of them so the cats can sit in the sun. Tiger refuses to come to the deck to eat all of a sudden, so I had to bring food and water to the old shed and put it under the steps for her.

I took everything out of the kitchen yesterday and gave the floor a good vacuuming and washing. I turned the ceiling fans on to dry it faster. One of them was making a horrible sound, so I ordered 2 new ones and called Dave to ask him to put them in when he has a chance. We talked for half an hour, most of it was him complaining about the new property assessments and the state of the government, lol

I watched Entertainment Tonight last night, and the stories from the fires are devastating. Whole neighborhoods gone, it does indeed look like a war zone. It's going to take a lot of time and money to rebuild the area's hardest hit. My heart goes out to everyone there.

@theluckyrabbit Continued prayers for you and your friends, family, and neighbors

Have a good day,

Good morning. It is 25 here now with temps going to the mid 30s. Tomorrow is supposed to be "warm" at 41. Good lake walking weather. I didn't go to Jeff's yesterday as it was snowing lightly all day and some of the roads were slippery. Jeff texted to change the plans as he said the roads were slippery near him too. We only got about 2 inches of snow but it did stick to pavement. I didn't want to drive 495. I am going this morning instead. Kenny came by and put in the new socket with a USB charger and he did a couple of other misc things. We chatted for a bit too. It looks like his divorce may finally be coming to a decision next month. The arbitrator is making his decision and there is a court date. Finally! I made chocolate chip cookies and sent some home with Kenny and have a bunch for Jeff and family. I kept 3. I like to bake when it is a snowy day but I don't need to eat all the stuff. This way I can share.

Have a good Sunday.

Good morning. Almost 30 already, going near 40 today. Same for tomorrow, then we drop back to the 20's, but at least no more snow in sight for the week.

So tired of dealing with company's who have bad customer service. Walmart delivered one ceiling fan yesterday instead of the 2 I ordered. The guy tried to tell me they were both in the bag. I started laughing and said that's the size of ONE box, not 2. He had no clue about the second one. I look up my order and the second one says delayed, call customer service. I call and the guy says the second one will be delivered between 4 and 9 pm (yesterday). Of course they're not going to deliver that late at night. I waited till 9:30 and called back. This other guy tells me it's being sent from another store to my store, and someone will deliver it this morning between 8 and 10 am. I look at my account and now it shows being shipped from Fed Ex and will be here Tuesday. The second rep last night was very rude. So I called customer service and got a really nice guy. He filed reports with both reps for incorrect information and against the second for rudeness. He gave me yet another promotional credit (so by the time I get the fan it will be free, lol). But in the meantime I waste my time and get aggravated for their mistakes.

Off to find something to get into today. Have a good one.

Lynn So sorry you are having trouble with Walmart and deliveries. Poor CS is never acceptable. Glad you found a good CS rep who helped.

Good morning. It is 27 here now with temps heading to 40. I will try to walk at the lake if it is not too muddy. Yesterday I went to see Jeff and family. The kids are so funny. Thy were playing Twister which reminded me of being a kid. I did the spinner. They had alot of fun. Then we played some games together. I got to chat with Jeff and Aimee too. Next weekend Jeff and I are going out to lunch or breakfast to chat about life and other things. I like to have time with each son a couple of times a year at least so we can talk about Dad, life, and let each other know how we are doing. Today I may hear something about my request for 25 hours a week. I don't want to do it right now as I need to set up for medicare supplement plan. The benefit year to my company ends April 30 and begins May 1. I want to set up medicare for May 1. I know they will do something for my coworker as she is well regarded and the owners really rely on her and like her. I am not sure the big bosses will support my request but I believe my boss will support me.

Off to work. Have a good day.

Good morning. 37 now heading for low 40's. Then cold for 3 days, then back to 40's. Still windy though.

@Snowysmom I hope they respect your request to go to 25 hours a week. I forgot to say yesterday, that I hope that Kenny's divorce finally gets settled, all of this back and forth has gone on too long.

I went through my 4 household binders yesterday, throwing out old receipts for things I don't have anymore, or don't need the receipts or instruction books for any longer. I think that's the last of the things that haven't been touched in awhile. I am in a cleaning mood, but running out of things to clean, lol

I read that the Santa Ana and El Nino winds are going to roar through CA this week, with winds of 70 mph. That's not good for trying to get the fires out. It's such a horrible situation. Prayers for everyone, especially the first responders who are doing their ultimate best.

Have a good day everyone
