Happy Tuesday! :flower:

We got some storms last night just as I was going to bed. Luckily I just let the dogs out one last time before bed so they made it in before the rain started.⛈️

Decided I'm going to take the dogs to the usual boarding place when I go on vacation 🐶:dog:. I don't want the kids to have to come over late at night to let them out before bed. Jacob said that him and Livia can feed the cats, Livia works up the street so I was hoping she could do it.:cat:

Had some boneless chicken wings last night from a local restaurant. Way too many to eat so I'll have them for dinner again tonight. After work I have to run Carly to the vet to get the kennel cough vaccine 💉, not sure why Boomer got it and she didn't.

Remy the cat made some progress during the night. While I was sleeping I realized she was in my bed. Looks like she found the nerve to venture out of the spare bedroom. Baby steps, but I'll take it!👏

Need to find something to do here at work to look busy. Have a great day!

Good morning. Another hot day coming up,, more haze and smoke from those Canadian fires. I can't believe that they are still burning.
Have to get ready so we can try and get out of here, which still remains to be seen. Will let you all know later if we're successful

Have a nice morning

Good Morning :grouphug:with love to all! Prayers indeed all of you stay hydrated and safe today especially those of you living in crazy weather areas or those impacted by fires. Be careful!

Lynn, I do pray Don was able to safely get out today and enjoyed doing so!

Cheers for Remy indeed. Footballmouse!

Dad is out doing usual Tuesday laundry followed by Ralphs. I'm working on finishing up a PM and then later will get some mail organized. Glenda's Canadian waist pack is supposed to come today. We look forward to seeing that as it should be perfect for her. Tomorrow is her actual birthday and that of my car. Versa will be 7. We got our new registration stickers late last night when the mail finally came--poor mailman. I felt so badly for him still being out! Dad got his car in later July 2019 so just before Covid began. I'm truly hoping he will stay home tomorrow! Quiet day here otherwise. I will check back later. Love always to all!

We made it! No issues getting out of the house and only minor ones getting into the car. Visit went well,,they changed his inhaler to a different one to see if it's more effective. It was good for him to get out. We also stopped at the grocery store over the PA line and I went in and got a few things. Thanks for the good thoughts!

Home from NH. Busy w laundry and shopping now. Had a nice weekend w my family. We had the weird weather up there, too, and had to drive home in flooding conditions and threats of tornados! But we took the high ground and made it safely, hitting just two areas that had some minor street flooding. Looking at the news today there are some roads that are really torn up. Sunday when we were going out for the day it was pouring rain and you could see all the runoff pouring down the sides of the roads. My brother hadn’t seen anything like that up there before so it was pretty unnerving. Also dealing with water damage around the house as it’s been raining most of the summer up there.

https://www.nbcboston.com/news/loca...entral-nh-following-sundays-flooding/3091052/

Anyway, good to be home, too. Dogs did ok in the kennel but Toto has an eye infection I’m dealing with now (somehow always gets one) and I’m going to bathe him today, too. Apparently the kennel owner didn’t use the beds I’d bought, I don’t know why. DD picked them up and didn’t ask questions. And it cost (ready for this?) $275 for three days boarding! I guess costs have gone up for everything.

Have to make it short, I am going to DS’s game with him tonight, he’s starting (pitching - usually a reliever but has been starting some games). His ERA right now is under 1: point something (like .08 or something like that). So doing very well, and his team is in first place. Hopefully it doesn’t rain.

Finally caught up with all the posts. Thinking of you all!

Enjoy the rest of this Tuesday! 🐥

Oops one more. This is the view of the lake from around my brother’s house. Glad today he’s high up. They also sent me a picture of a bear (!) this morning taken right outside the screened porch where I was sitting quite a bit! 😳

@Pea-n-Me Nice pictures, Too bad about the weather and rain. I hope you had a nice time in spite of that. The bear is an added surprise.

Another dreary morning. We had thunderstorms last night. The kids' TBall was canceled.

Today is my day to make ADR's for my trip. I only made one, Ale and Compass for breakfast on Monday. It makes me crazy how when you put in one person you get these off the wall times. Put in for 2 and more mainstream times come up. I was able to get one for breakfast but when I looked at dinners for various days I got times after 9 pm. Put in 2 people and voila, times for 6 pm or 7 pm.

Off to work. Have a good day.

Good morning everyone!:flower2:

We had some bad rain roll through our downtown last night, enough to delay the Reds game. I didn't see a drop in my area. I'm west of the baseball stadium and close enough to hear the fireworks that are set off during the game. Just thought it was weird that I didn't get rain.⛈️

Ran Carly up to the vet when I got home from work. She needed her vaccination for kennel cough before her and Boomer go to the boarding kennels. :dog:

And it cost (ready for this?) $275 for three days boarding! I guess costs have gone up for everything.
Yikes! I pay $24 a day for the 2 of them "rooming" together.💸

I decided to ask my boss if he thinks the working from home on Fridays will end soon. I will probably mention that I've interviewed with another department in the past week and the working from home may be the game changer in my decision if it gets to that point. We have a group meeting this morning so I'm going to meet with him before that meeting.

Getting my haircut after work tonight. Always look forward to that.😊

That's it for me, have a great day!

My oceanfront adventure is over and I'm back to trees and tomato plants, which seem to be still alive thanks to rain. Grands went home last night.

Indoor and outdoor cats were all happy to see me. Outdoor kitty came for breakfast and didn't want to leave. He laid on the windowsill over two hours after having his breakfast. Part was probably because of the rain and it's a dry spot.

Also came home to an ant invasion, which a few drops of Terro seemed to take care off. They were mostly near the door to my deck and were a steady stream. I put a few drops of Terro along the baseboard and soon they were feasting. None to be seen this morning. It's time to go out and treat the perimeter of my house.

One vacation story. I think I may have been perceived as a 'Karen' at CVS in OC, lol.

Walked over to pick up floaty toys that the girls were asking for. Bought two on separate receipts at self checkout. Hit finished after scanning the first one because the girls interrupted me. I had two coupons giving me 3.07 off the first $4.99 item. Scanned the second of the two items and noticed it rang up $6.29 plus tax. Used a Visa gift card to pay.

So, now they owe me 1.30 x 2 (2.60 plus the tax.). That's when I should have just left the store. Instead, I go around to get it fixed. Check the wall of items and there are a bunch more in the same spot and most items on the wall are 4.99, except one that is 5.49. Nothing is 6.29. Employee says 'oh, it's just priced wrong'. That was supposed to be okay.

They attempted to fix it but after quite a bit of time they couldn't. Than they offered a cvs gift card for the balance owed to me but couldn't figure that out. I'm talking 3 employees now. Meanwhile girls want to swim. So, I said I'll return tomorrow. After all, I'm in a $500plus a night room, wasting an hour on a 4.99 pool toy. I did not intend to return.

Back to the hotel where we get the toys blown up, except that only one would hold air. The girls shared the other toy.

Next day I'm leaving and decide to return the defective one exchanging for a new one. Now, I only have one receipt as the other one got discarded, probably with the bag it came in. Stopped at the CVS with my receipt which is the one with the coupon on it. I'm told I have to return the item and I will get $3 plus. If I want a new one I have to pay the difference. I said I am exchanging a defective item that was opened but not used. No, can't do that. I said, yes you will. Get a manager. Remember, they've already charged me a higher price than listed and I'm not even complaining about that. Long story short, after going into what I will call Karen mode or (you will do it my way) they told me 'here's your receipt and go get a new one'. I did so and left.

The point of this is that this wasn't a customer picking up an item that was put in the wrong spot by another customer. This was a store issue or maybe even a 'let's say this item is 4.99 and then charge 6.29 as many people don't care, don't pay attention or don't have the time to fool with getting back in line and getting a problem fixed by temporary employees working for the summer, who don't actually know how to fix something.

I really get tired of inaccurate pricing and nickel and diming.

Good morning. Rained again overnight. Chance of storms tonight and tomorrow. I'm tired of the rain. At least the day is supposed to be sunny and a little cooler. Going grocery shopping this morning and getting errands done. Dave called me yesterday, he'd been in Montana on vacation. He's coming tomorrow to put the new range hood in, change the electrical outlets, and see what he needs to replace the shower fixtures and vanity in the downstairs bathroom.

I'll be back later to check in and post a picture, have to get myself moving.

Have a great day.

Good afternoon!

@Judique That sounds like something that happens to me. I would‘ve been peeved, too!

@Snowysmom It only rained Sunday - Friday and Saturday were nice days. We missed a beach morning Sunday as it was pouring, but most of us slept late anyway, we’d been up to the wee hours chatting. Then we went to a museum and came back and grilled, rain had slowed by then. Everyone loved Mom’s potato salad. I might make another for here this weekend. Darned tornado and flood warnings kept coming over our phones, though, so it made some of us a little nervous (including my sister driving w me!). We might do a repeat sleep over here once we get settled with our renovations - they’re lake, we’re ocean. Lots to do in both places. The biggest problem is traffic, especially on weekends.

DS had a good game last night (they won) but we got home late, close to midnight. Took Toto with me, he enjoyed it, like old times. A little tired today, but managed to get most of the house straightened out. Did an online grocery order but might order out. Start a work stretch tomorrow.

Looking forward to hearing about the @easyas123 wedding this weekend and wishing them a great time!

@footballmouse I hope your boss will see things your way. 👍

Enjoy this Wednesday everyone! 🐥

Aw I'm so glad Toto is a happier:dogdance:dear Pea! Congratulations to your son and his team. :grouphug:So thankful you did have a good trip!

:grouphug:to you too Judique and welcome home as well. We have had pricing trouble, too, frustrating, isn't it? I'm sorry you had that experience especially while on vacation!

Quiet day here. Spent some of the morning trying to call various Sprouts. It seems as though my favorite 🍎sauce is being re packaged and therefore no Sprouts store have any in stock right now in the glass jars. Stores do have the same applesauce in the premade 6 little cups. The last time, I had one of those, it didn't taste the same as it does in the jar. Dad prefers flavored water in bottles rather than cans so this is the same principle. Reminder to stock up on a favorite staple when you can especially if it has a good shelf life. We're waiting on a 💿for dad and regular mail.

Have a great rest of the day, everyone🌸

It was a small chance of rain, but it poured for most of the morning.

The unit in back of us is rented this week and next by an extended family who have come other years. Yesterday, Levi, a small boy told Tom he would like to feed our fish, so this morning I left a note for them, and Levi and his mom came over and Levi did a great job. As he was leaving I called and asked how old he was. He called back to say “I’m 5 and Mom is 45!”

After the rain, with DSis, we had a good time at the pool. It’s great when only 5 are using the pool! The rain drove everyone else away. :)

Good morning, all 😎

Looks to be a better day weather-wise here - sunny, leas humid, and no air quality warnings - yay!! I'm out with one of the "furry princesses" right now.

@Judique, sorry about your CVS experience! That's the one place I still avoid using the self check out. I've had problems ever since it was put in. (At first, I thought I didn't like the tech in general, but then I gave a couple other places a try and realized it's just them.)

Good sunny morning. No chance of rain, at least so far, temps upper 80's. Lawn needs mowing again, I just can't keep up. The garden looks like a jungle, I've never seen it grow like this. Has to be the right combo of rain and sun, and the mushroom compost we added this year. I'm not complaining, just wishing I hadn't planted quite so many tomato plants and squash. I'll have enough to supply the whole neighborhood at the rate it's going.
Did shopping yesterday. There were so many employees stocking shelves in Walmart that you couldn't get through the rows I had to ask 2 of them to move their stuff to one side. They had the pallets stacked in the middle of the row and you couldn't get carts down either side. Use common sense!
Our CVS doesn't have a self check out, so I've never had to experience an issue with it. Our Aldi just put them in, but they need to put a sign on them saying you can't use cash. I saw one lady ring a whole cart full up, then stand there and wonder where to put her money. I said they don't take cash at this one, you have to use a card. She had to have someone come over and void it, and take her to another register and ring it up all over again. She was very frustrated and I don't blame her.

Nothing going on today. Waiting for Dave to call to tell me if he's coming today or tomorrow, and I want to pass the vaccum through the house.

Have a great day
