we just got back from our last minute New Years trip. We got a great rate from the Quality Inn and Suites on 4960 West Irlo Bronson (192) and it was a night mare. This hotel was great on the Choice Hotel Website, Heated Pool, Whirlpool, Lake, sundeck , picnic area , jet ski , Free continental breakfast yadayada. We checked in on 12/29 after being stuck in traffic for double tje time it should have taken to get there. We had called numerous times to let them know we were on the way. Front desk manager assured us no problem as they were behind in cleaning rooms not to worry.
When we checked Our reserved KIng room had been given away, no excuses no sorry . We over booked if you still want a room you can have a double or will can cancel your reservation right now. This all while standing under the sign showing a 100% satisfaction gauantee. Yes the room was new but the actual commode area was old light fixture, shower but new floor and toilet. Air Conditioner did not work. We took room as there was no other choice, most employees spoke mostly spanish and played dumb.
We went out to eat and found a hotel book which listed this Quality Inn as having been the Cedar Lakes Transient hotel at 19.95 a night prior to it's 12/3/2003 conversion. The staff was completely unresponsive. Pool was not heated , Whirlpool cold and the manager had no clue as to how to manage a hotel . As we complained he actually shrugged his shoulders and said what can I do. How I am supposed to know the whirlpool is cold. days into trip they gave us room we should have had a t sheck in.
Sundeck by lake did not exsist, pinic area consisted of four broken tables and various debris and broken playground equipment. The entire parking lot was littered with old furniture and boxes. Jetski rental was there but an independant and was very nice. Continental breakfast consisted of juice, hot beverages and loaves of bread and tub margarine. I could go on and on, this hotel actually ruined a great deal of our trip as we had planned to spend time swimming and sitting around the pool. This was impossible even if we could have taken the cold temperature it was filled with Bugs and not filtered.
We made numerous calls to the Choice Hotrel customer service dept. There resolution was to have the hotel manager call us at 7.22am while on our vacation. The room was not made up until 8pm on some day and then it was still covered with dust. When we left a tip for the housekeeper and a note asking for toilet paper and towels we got neither and i had to run around the entire place looking for someone to give us suppplies for the room.
Had there been any resonable rooms available we would have changed hotels but they were all otrageous. We left Orlando 2 dayas early and needless to say choice hotel did not live up to it's satisfaction gaurantee, we paid in full for all 5 nights, as choice explained it was up to the hotel staff to decide if we were happy or not. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS HOTELS SCAM
