Project Runway - Season 3 Official Thread (SPOILERS!!!)

He/she knows they are out. They can't win the show, but it still a good opportunity to show a collection.
Kara showed her collection last year but was not eligible to win.

I got say that I was disappointed with Michael's collection. He was my favorite until I saw his collection. I think that it is between Laura and Uli.

Ok since it's cool with everyone to talk about it-

The collection I loved was Uli's which really surprised me since I was getting bored with her stuff before last night.

The one I thought was beautiful but shouldn't win was Laura's.

The two I hated were Jeffrey's and Michael's. Michael's even more so then Jeffrey's which really shocked me.

Spoilers before the final four cut down to 3 show aired.

Exactly :thumbsup2

What happened was that the runway event for the finalists was going to occur before the show aired when they made the cut from 4 to 3 designers.

So in the first cycle of the program a couple of years ago, even though Austen knew he couldn't win, he designed a runway show with the finalists so that no one would know ahead of time that he was the last person eliminated. In fact, his collection was never actully aired on the program, but the producers did have it posted on the website for awhile. I think they realized after the same thing happened with Kara last year that they needed to find a better solution and I wasn't surprised when they said all 4 designers this year would present at the runway event.

Does that make sense?

OMG, Michael and Jeffery's collection :confused3 YUK

I love Laura's collection, but I'm so afraid the judges will think they are too typical of her.

I also love Uli's.

I do hate when they say it's "typical" of a certain designer. I know when I buy certain clothing, it's because it is "typical" of that designer.

I love LAura...and I have said it many times...she has skills...but to do all this while pregnant is WOW!!!

Heidi loves them way to much to auf them down to three. I really thought Laura was going to be the decoy, though!

I can't wait to see who wins!

Bring on the reunion show and Mr. Personality Disorder (Keith) to blame other people more for his own issues! This is going to be great!

Who is looking forward to Top Chef after PR wraps up?

My son was wondering if they did not eliminate someone on the last show because the producers wanted to keep Michael in the contest. It was between Michael and Jeffrey as to who would have been eliminated and it could have been that they wanted both to compete. Michael has been my favorite to date and I would have hated to see him eliminated.

Uhg.. these previews for the reunion makes me hate Keith even more.. does he even hear himself speak? :furious:

I like Top Chef.. I thought all the challenges were really cool last year.. I loved the gas station challenge, where they had to use stuff from that little store.

I like Top Chef, but it's just so unrealistic. I have been in the restaurant business 25 years. It's just not really like that. But, I guess you could say the same for Project Runway too. I thought the one where they had to use all teh fabric was rediculos.

Well, curiousity got the better of me and I went to check out the collections. I'm not saying anything more b/c I don't want to spoil things for anyone.

With that said, from y'day's show, I loved Uli's dress (totally a first for me b/c I am not a huge Uli fan) and Laura's. Michael just seemed "off". And, Jeffrey -- yikes! That thing was awful!

I am also looking forward to Top Chef. I enjoy the challenges and what they can do. I often wish I could stick my hand into the TV to grab a taste of one dish or another (most particularly, last season's sandwich cart fare -- the "Persian" sandwich). I wish they'd publish some of the recipes! I enjoy Top Chef far more than Hell's Kitchen!!!!

I really hope that the judges make their discissions based on all the work that each contestant had done during the whole show. Uli should have been gone long ago. Everything looks the same. Michael to me should win. Like the judges have been saying he knows how to pull together the whole presentation. He also seems to know what will look good on a woman's body, which is more that I can say for some of the women. I think Laura is talented but I don't think she should win. Again, very predictable. Don't get me started on Jeffrey! Can't stand him! I can't even stand to look at him! Does he always have to say "looking around the room, my design is far superior to any one here!" Whatever! I think that black and white number he designed was hideous! i can't believe he survived that one or even the one that he designed for Angela's mother!
i vote for Michael!!

Top Chef fan too! Loved Harold last year! Glad he won over the annoying Red head! What was her name?

I'm torn between Michael and Jeffrey! Michael's collection wasn't very sophisticated, though, and that might hurt him. I still love Jeffrey and I'm over one-trick Laura and Uli.

And it was Tiffany. Ug-- she was so smug and grating. I couldn't stand her! We will all have to start a Top Chef thread after PR is over!

But didn't they keep saying that it wasn't like any kitchen in which they worked during the last season? I thought it was more about being creative under pressure than what a RL chef would experience.

Loved how you spelled "rediculos." Go ahead. Everyone say it with a French accent, as it is spelled. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who doesn't like Jeffrey. Nobody else seems to be as arrogant as he is. I think he should have been sent home a long time ago. I hated that dress he did for Angela's mom. Sometimes I think they will keep people around for their personalities rather than their designs.

I wonder who the fan favorite will be. My guess is that it will be Michael. He has some good designs and he seems like a nice guy.

They do. I'm sure this has been mentioned before, but the producers have a say into who stays and who goes. I think that's why Katherine was offed when she was...remember the green dress she made? Boring but wearable...that was the dog challenge...but yet they kept Keith, who did not complete the challenge as he was supposed to (by not making an outfit for his dog.) Since Keith made for better TV.

I wish they would go to a blind rating...where the models show the garment, but the judges don't know who the designer was. Then the descision is made based only on the scores, and announced w/o the judges ever knowing who designed it. Much more equitable...but never gonna happen!!!

A blind judging wouldn't be nearly as fun as watching Vincent defend his designs by non-sequitering his answers to the judges.

I can't remember the episode but the exchange went something like this:

Heidi and Co: "Why does this look so cheap?"

Vincent: "Pink is a nice color! And I like marshmallows!"

Heidi and Co: "But why does it look so cheap?"

That's not an exact quote, but it was hilarious to watch!

Judging is sometimes the best part. Remember Andre's 10 minute crying jag at judging last season? Pure entertainment.

Reunion, anyone?

It's like 15 minutes in and this Keith is driving me nuts! First he says "It didn't say you couldn't bring books in the contract" - um.. so the rest of the designers, Heidi, Tim Gunn, and all the production just *mysteriously* know this rule and Keith never got the memo? I don't think so.. then he said that the producers took the books when he got there then they were placed back in his room a week later.. he can kiss my rear end.. he's still not owning up to it!

This reunion is a lot different from last year.. I feel like I still don't know the designers that well.. not like I knew Nick, Santino, Daniel V. and everyone last season.. no song montages this season :( haha

I don't think anyone believes that b.s.
He should have just kept his mouth shut.
What about Vincent going BALLISTIC about his laundry?? I have never, ever liked him.
And the fact that he diss'd Tim made me like him less.
IMHO, Michael is about the only one on their with any class. Well, for the most part anyways.
I miss Allison, but I'm pretty happy with the final 4.
