Problems with fitting?

He will be fine.
As someone who goes to WDW twice a year and has gone as Really fatty fat fat to just merely fat I speak from experience that WDW is the best place for larger sized guests. At my biggest I only had 3 problems one was Space Mountain. The restraint system was fine its getting back out of the vehicle that is a climb and very hard to do gracefully.

Second and third are the turnstiles at Pirates and Haunted Mansion. Pirates is very narrow but it is just as fast to unhook the chain between them and stroll on in. HM is best met sideways larges "area" facing outward.

Now if you are planning on going over to UF he will have problems.

thanks for the response, and congrats on your weight loss ;)

we actually are planning to spend one day at Universal- just the regular Studios park, NOT Islands of Adventure (I pretty much figured IOA would be problematic- I've read a lot of reviews about people having trouble with several of their rides). I hope this won't be the case in US- the only ride I've heard people having real trouble with was The Mummy. I've never been there, so I really have no idea what to expect in this regard :confused3

i weigh a whole 140 pounds, so i've never really had to think about these issues until now- it's unfortunate that people are placed in the position of having to worry about that kind of stuff- vacations are supposed to be fun and worry-free, right?

Do not let that even be a concern. On a recent trip, a large friend (6'6" 350+) was able to ride everything he tried.

He rode Everest, Splash, Dinosaur, Test Track, Soarin, Thunder, and Tower.

The test car at EE indicated that he might not be able to fit, but since he had a FP, he decided to try it and had no problems.

My dh has the same problem and hasn't had any problems with the rides. The only one he said he felt uncomfortable in was Space Mountain. Does that stop him from riding?? Heck no!!!

Have a great trip!!!

Is there a thread for embarassing moments? I'm 'fluffy', and back when ToT had the one lap bar for each set of seats, I would, in consideration of my fellow guests, pull the bar down as much as I could even if it was a little uncomfortable. Well, one ride, I'm pulling and pushing and it's not digging into me like usual. Nope - it was digging into the woman next to me instead. I felt SO bad!

R'n'R's test car is through the chicken exit-
Did you know it USED to be out front? Now, I could be wrong - I could be confusing Rock 'n Roller Coaster with anything at Universal :) but I'm 75% sure I remember trying test seats out front. In fact, I didn't know until my last visit that they'd moved them to a more discreet location - I thought they were just gone (and had been for several years, it was QUITE a while between my most recent RnRC ride and the one before that)

Hmmm, let me think... I know I've ridden The Hulk a few times, always telling the CM-equivalent that I need the "fat" seat (there are a couple on each section) and they've given it to me, while assuring me that I'd fit in a regular seat - I wasn't concerned about my bottom fitting in the seat but rather the harness not coming down far enough to buckle securely. I rode Dueling Dragons once, again most likely in the 'fat' seat - but who knows, since it was a drizzly Friday morning in February and I was the ONLY person on the ride. What esle...? Spiderman, no problem. That drop ride, no problem. Bilge Rat Barges, no problem. Dudley Do-Right, only problem was I was SURE I was going to go flying out of the log :) Jurassic Park, no problem. Can't ride Pteranydon Flyers, no kids. The kiddie roller coaster, no problem. Cat in the Hat, ditto. Carou-Suess-el, only 'problem' was I can't climb onto the horses. One Fish Two Fish, no problem. Is that everything? :)
Now, at Universal - no problem on ANY ride. I did not try The Mummy in Florida, I couldn't figure out the test seats :confused3 I mean, I couldn't find the red and green or whatever marks the sign described. So at Universal in California, I just went up to the loading area and admitted to the CM-equivalent that I didn't know if I would be able to fasten the harness but that I certainly wouldn't be upset at THEM if I didn't fit :) He assured me - correctly - that I'd be fine.

I got really worried when I put my 2.5 year old daughter in the seat next to me on the Aladdin's Carpet ride. The bar came down to my lap but it was nowhere near hers. I *hate* those bars that cover two people. One person gets a snug fit, the other is not secure.... I found myself clutching her down to the seat while we were riding. Scary!

At Disney California Adventure they had this foam tube the stuck on the bar infront of my son on the crazy mouse I think its called. This was he was more secure.

I know its not what you asked about but as a very large person there is one place I was embarassed at in WDW. It wasn't a ride, but the car booth tables at Sci Fi. They are small. Our first trip there we were taken to one of the car booths and I tried to sit down, I just didn't fit. I looked at the CM and said, "this isn't going to work". He (it had to be a he didn't it??) said kind of snotty, "I guess you can sit in the back". There are picnic tables in the back but I don't think they had a waitperson covering those tables because our service was really slow.

Since then I always ask when we make ADRs and at check in for a table car. It is a table with regular chairs and a car front and car back. That works fine for us. Just thought you might like to know so no one gets embarassed

I agree, Scifi Cafe booths are tight. I love the atmosphere there so I continue to go back.

The only other place I can think that has been a problem are the sardine sized seats on the plane trip there and back. I hate sitting for a couple of hours with my knees by my ears!! But, my wife won't let me drive so I put up with them just them same. :goodvibes

OP, your bf is about the same size as my dh who also carries most of his weight in his belly. He hasn't had a problem in 7 trips. Have a great vacation! :cool1:

Since you're a lot smaller than he is, just be careful on BTMRR! My sister and I shared a car...I'm not quite Pooh-sized but I'm by no means svelt, either...my sister, on the other hand, is more Tigger-sized: kind of tall (well, by my family's standards...she's only 5'7") and relatively thin. Oh, and we were riding at night. I was TERRIFIED that her head was going to crack into one of the rocks. I think she was on the right side of the car, so...yeah.

And re: Space Mountain...I think it's impossible to get out of those cars gracefully unless you're really short...I mean, seriously. Maybe that's why it's in the dark...then the queue can be darker and people can't see everyone trying to flop out of the car quite so clearly ::yes::

I too have been wondering. My friend and his fiance will be going to WDW here in about 3-4 months. He is about 6'2" and weighs roughly 385(most of which is in his belly area), deffinatly a pooh size. He was curious if he will have any problems on any of the rides. He is worried as this is a suprise birthday present to his fiance and would like a heads up. Thanks.
