Is the Primeval Whirl ride at AK a spinny type ride. Our entire family can not go on anything that twirls or spins like those teacups. If it's a rollercoster I'm sure we'd be fine but if it's twirly forget it!

You might want to avoid this then, it is a roller coaster that spins. Think spinning tea-cups on a roller coaster track...

if you can't do spinny or jerky, skip primeval whirl... not knowing what it was our whole family did it... dh regretted it for the rest of the day (the kids did not mind, 'cause the result was that we went back to the hotel to swim... their fave activity after four or five hours at AK! LOL!)

Avoid this ride like the plaque!!! It's a tea cup rollercoaster! I bit the bullet and went on with my niece b/c she really wanted to go and no one else would volunteer.

OMG!!!! I was praying for the ride to break down in the middle so I could get off sooner!!!!! I was in bad shape for the rest of the day!!
:faint: :headache:

Enough said! That one is off the list.

Another ? though, is Dinosaur anything like Star Tours? The last time I went on that..... well, there's no words to describe it. I cringe when I read reviews of Mission Space and think you poor poor souls! So, to cut to the chase, I can't go on anything twirly, spinny or jerky. My God, I'm like an old person!:earseek:

Dinosaur is a pretty rough ride. It's not a simulator like Star Tours, your vehicle actually does go somewhere but it is pretty jerky. I personally don't think it's as bad as Star Tours but it's up there.

I never thought that I was getting old till I rode that and BTM ant the MK. BTM jerked me around a lot cause I'm petite, just 5'1". it slung me and DD 7 (also petite, 45 pounds) around so much I thought she'd fly out. She ahted Dinosaur, the jerking and the loud roaring sounds really upset her. She was toast for the rest of our AK experience. I'm hoping this time we'll have better experiences at that park. Seems like something always goes wrong for us, the heat, scary ride first thing, crowds, etc.

Yes it has drops. It is like a regular roller coaster with a car that spins like a tea cup...

There's a clone of the Primeval Whirl (Hurl:crazy: ) at Kennywood here in Pa, which is inside in the dark, called the Exterminator.

I ride that one with no problems, but P.W. at AK finished me for the day with violent nausea and headache. It was a blazing hot day, and riding it in the sun did a number on me.

We loved both these rides! :hyper: In fact, my DH, who HATES rollercoasters AND things that spin LOVED Primevil Whirl! :D It doesn't 'spin' so much like Tea Cups................just when it goes around a corner, it spins for a short bit. :teeth: I always viewed it more like a cross between a rollercoaster and the old "Whip" ride. ::yes::

Ha! It was just the opposite for me. The Exterminator did me in for the rest of the day the first (and last) time I rode it! :crazy2: I LOVED Primeval Whirl though (of course I was "on" Bonine for that one, LOL). :teeth:

We must be the only people around that think Primeval Whirl was LAME!!! I'd just walk by and watch it first, then decide for yourself =)

Dinosaur is VERY bumpy, and jerky. VERY.

DW hates it rode once and made her sick.::yes:: :wave2:

I think it's lame too! I wanted it to be like a real wild mouse where you ACTUALLY feel like you are going to fall off. But you dont get that effect. And if your car is loaded, you hardly spin. Personally, I think Dinosaur is wonderful and if you sit in the front you have a much smoother ride. We always request the front for that reason. And Disnosaur is so appealing to the eye, I see something new everytime I go on it. But Misson:Space is a no no for me. I felt a little sick after getting off. But maybe it was because I rode teice in a row and then chugged a Mezzo Mix right afterwards........

I really don't care for P.W. I love BTMRR, Space Mt., M:S, RnRC...but P.W. just does me in. I love to spin, but hate drops and the falling feeling. But, my dd loves this one. So, in August I tried it with my eyes closed and I was fine!!! I guess I am an old person now.

I HATED PW. I love rollercoasters and I love the Tilt -a- Whirl. These two things don't mix well. First of all, the seats were very uncomfortable. My DBF and I are average sized people, but we felt jammed into this thing. We had to ride with 2 strangers , a girl and her dad. All 4 of us were smushed together. Secondly, the spinning seemed so "jerky" to me. I expected it to be smoother. I came off of this one with sore legs from the lap bar and a headache........and I NEVER have a problem with rides.

I have to agree with Tinkbell. The spinning itself does not make me dizzy, but the seats are not comfortable. The spinning pushes you into other people on the ride. I spent most of the ride trying not to smoosh my son. I'll ride it again, but I'll be expecting the bruises this time.

We were at Kennywood this summer and I went on Exterminator a few times--once with my older kids and then once I convinced my 10yo that he'd like it we did it a couple more times. I didn't know that it was the same as PW, which I've only done once.
He'll be glad since he liked Exterminator so much.
