OK, this is kinda hard to explain, just try to imagine you were me...
On our cruise, my then-6-year-old son insisted on hopping over the metal plates in the floor (where the ship was welded together, I think) every time we walked down the hallway. My then-4-year-old son insisted on saying hello to every vacuum cleaner he saw (they had eyes and a smile and the name Henry on them).
OK, so we're walking down the hall to our room one night and my big one is in the lead doing his walk, walk, walk, hop routine and the little one is saying 'Hi, Henry' every 20 feet, when suddenly he says (in a high, squeaky voice that vacuum cleaners apparantly have) 'Hi, Matthew!' He then does a huge, head-thrashing, whole body double take and says to me (in his regular voice), 'Mommy, how did that Henry know my name?'
DH and I nearly wet ourselves...![]()

My story is actually pre-cruise for the West Coast Cruises in 2005 and is at DS's expense. We were spending 3 n at DL first and when we got to Paradise Pier our room wasn't ready but we had stuff we needed to get into in our luggage before heading to the parks. So we grabbed some lunch & then walked around the property for awhile killing time. We went out to look at the rooftop pool and came in & I called the front desk from the house phones by the elevators. In the meantime, while I was on the phone, DS (8 at the time) went ahead & got into the glass front elevator that faced the lobby and proceeded to get stuck! Alone! We'd been in CA like all of 2 hours and here he was in this elevator for the whole world below to watch. Alone...you could see the crowd gathering & other Mom's asking "where are his parents"?!

Duh. Watching. OMG. I called the front desk again...security came...engineering came...the manager came...the fire dept. - nobody could get the doors to open and it would'nt move! He's in a total panic - jumping up & down...crying....screaming! And everybody watching. It was a real show! They finally had to call the Otis elevator people to come out & they went onto the roof of it & got it to go up a floor & then got the doors open.
It's funny NOW...but boy did we think what an omen we were going to have for the whole trip! The whole week on the ship he just wanted to take the stairs everywhere!

I saw this thread and this one just popped into my head...
I should preface by saying that as soon as my oldest started handling his "bathroom time" by himself at 3 or so, I always kept a container of "wipies" of some sort in our bathroom to help my kids with personal hygiene.
The first time we cruised DCL it was during the huge cruise ship Norwalk Virus scare, when they had recently had to take the Magic out of service for a week just to clean it because so many people were becoming ill. This was the talk of the news, the boards, everywhere. I came prepared with Lysol, antibacterials, you name it.
The first day on board, my DS (8 at the time) came wandering out after using the bathroom looking perplexed and slightly uncomfortable. He wandered around for a few minutes looking more and more ill at ease and finally said "Mom, those wipes you brought are burning me." A little checking revealed he had used the CLOROX bleach wipes! Doubt he's been THAT clean before or since!![]()
A few years ago on our first cruise our DD was 3 years old. Now my DD has always been perfectly well behaved. We had taken her to many 4 and 5 star restaurants prior to the cruise all with no incidents. She is a quiet child with a big, beautiful smile. We had a WONDERful 4 days onboard. No problems in the clubs or at dinner.
Well, at the end of the cruise we gathered our luggage and were walking through the parking lot to our vehicles. My DD innocently asked "where are we going?" I replied the cruise is over...we are going home.
She screamed "NOOOOOOOO!!!! I don't want to leave" With that she started walking back toward the ship. There we were 7 adults with luggage trying to chase down a wayward 3 year old. Once caught, she did the "limp noddle" thing that kids do. She would not budge.
I had to physically carry my little girl to the van and strap her in. You would have thought we were kidnappers!!! We were all panting, laughing and sweating from capturing our stowaway wantabe!
My Funniest Disney Cruise memmory was at the sailaway party first day on Deck 9. Myself DH,two DD,DS & DN. We all decided to order Drinks from one of the nice waiters who carry the trays on their head. Well i decided i wanted a strawberry Daquari mixed w/ pinacolada. So he mixes the two in one glss. He's doing his little show danceing around spinning the tray on his head to mix my wonderful drink. Were all clapping. Meanwhile DH if filming this. Then you see the tray go flying off his head. Just as this older lady wearing all white is walking by. Yes you guessed it she was competely covered in my drink. Red & white all over her. We could not get my four kids to stop laughing all under the age of 17. I felt so bad for the waiter he could not stop apoligizeing, and kept saying this has never happened before. We all were laughing at this point. We helped him clean up the mess. Then he brought us all free drinks later. He found us,and he asked to see the tape of the incident. He laughed harder then we did. he was the nicest guy. The whole cruise we would see him and talk with him about the incident.
Just remember to stand back while ordering drinks on the cruise lol.![]()
Around 10 we go to pick up the kids, and there's my DD, in the middle of the floor, with kids running all around her, fast asleep. There was one little girl sitting next to her, who sadly told us when we took DD away, "but we were going to play when she wakes up!"
