I usually dont post but I've been reading this thread for months now. We leave IN THE MORNING and I'm happy to hear that we might have a fridge for the latter part of our trip. Also, can't wait to utilize the boats from POR to DTD! Very cool option to have from your resort! I was going to say that part of the reason why I was posting was to be able to see my ticker but for some reason it doesn't say 1 day or 0 days, its just blank. Oh well. :)

FWIW - I changed my resort this morning from CBR to POR (too many negative posts about CBR) and it was confirmed that I would have a fridge in my room. Fingers crossed that was accurate!!

I will say that I thought the pictures of the rooms without the bedspreads looked awful, but in person it doesn't look bad at all.

I've heard that the new bed scarfs / runners should be arriving this week (POFQ will be first, followed by the other sections) so it'll be great to see some photos soon of how the rooms will look from now on...

Anyone have an idea when the December activities sheet will be available for viewing?

Definitely by the first of December, or a little sooner if I get sent an early copy for release.

Good morning fellow POR DISer's pixiedust: Just thought of a question. We usually bring the paper coffee cups from our room to the Main Dining hall to fill up with coffee and hot chocolate. I can't seem the get the coffee smell out of the refillable mugs , even though I always do the dish-detergent on a sponge trick :thumbsup2 Not sure if we will still be able to do this with the new RFID system...are there still paper coffee cups in the rooms and is the hot chocolate/coffee/ hot water system chip-enabled...also does anyone have a tip on how to completely get the coffee smell out of a mug? :crazy2: TIA!!

They still have small cups, styrofoam, I think, but might be paper. However they are very small and do not have lids. We went to Walmart and bought a pack of coffee cups for a few dollars, They are paper 20 18oz cups with pop-on lids and cardboard sleeves. They would hold two of the small cups of coffee and we would take them with us to the parks and then throw them away. It worked great.

The coffee and hot chocolate are not part of the rfid system so you can use any cup in the main dining hall.

Others have given advice on removing the coffee taste. I have never been 100% successful.

We just got back from Orlando. We stayed in the Alligator Bayou room. I will say I was a bit disappointed with the room.

The room was not very clean, especially the bathroom. There were dust bunnies under the sink. Long dark hairs around the toilet (we are a family of blondes).

The cleaning lady wouldn't leave any more coffee supplies in the room after we used them up, I had to call the front desk for more. She would take our used towels but not replace them, etc.

To top it off, for some reason we got a wake up call almost every morning at 2:30 am. They could not figure it out why. We wind up just unplugging the phone at bed time.

We did however get a fridge on our last day. The manager did give us a discount for our issues but we wont stay there again.

We did a tour of the Disney Vacation club and we may look into that since we loved the parks & area.

Wow. All I can say is this will be handled. I will get in touch with them over there tomorrow when I go in to work! I apologize on the behalf of Disney for this.

The manager was great about it. I will say all the other staff was great. We loved the restaurant there.

We did love the tour of the Disney Vacation Club, we are thinking really hard about joining.

Oh ok well I will just do a poking around and see if anything has been done about this. I don't like hearing about guests having bad experiences. Once again I apologize for this.

The Manager gave us a credit for our issue. Not sure if anything was done about it after we left.

No, not all the rooms have fridges. I had medication for my daughter that had to be refrigerated and I mentioned that when I checked in. I had to keep it packed in ice.

They will have by the middle of this week. I've no idea why they didn't move one in for you when you complained after you got to the room and found no fridge, but that's what should have happened for any medical reasons.

We got home on Friday from Alligator Bayou, and our room was super clean! We did request additional cleaning for my immune compromised son, so I'm sure that helped. Our housekeeper was awesome! Every day when we came back from the parks it looked like they had the room ready for a new guest. I guess it just depends on the day/housekeeper. We had the same housekeeper for the entire stay- 5 days. I'm sorry yours wasn't as thorough.

Here now. I am so pleased with our room. AB building 17 corner room ground floor just like I requested. Thanks to Venom and Andre's advise on faxes. We are happy with the closeness of things at this resort. Stayed at SSR in 2011 hand POR is compact compared to some of the walking there. My kids love the quite pool and The general store. I really like that the room appeals to my two DS 6&8 and my DD 10. Really loving our time here. PS so far the busses at South depot have been short waits around 10 minutes.

Woo!
Anyone know if you can request a microwave??

This might have already been answered, but do all the bus depots have monitors now? A friend who used the south depot posted a picture of one telling the arrival time for the buses.

Only 12 more days!pixiedust:

We made do with the ice, we knew coming down there was a chance of not having a fridge. But having a wake up call at 2:30 am 5 days in a row... will make you less tolerant of other things.

We noticed after a few days of staying she only made the beds and maybe change out the towels. We were in building 27.

Like I said the Manager made up for it but on our next stay in WDW we will not go back to POR.

The monitor at the South depot was the only one we saw out whole trip.

If there will be fridges in all the rooms by this week. Then I really have no other request than my room being ready early. Possibly about 10am. Should I do a fax request for that or just go back to online check in to modify?
