AWESOME first day!!! Pixie dusted with an upgrade to building 16, connecting rooms and TWO refrigerators! Beautiful place, good food, can't wait for the rest of our stay! Oh and FP+ let us do rocknroller coaster, Fantasmic, TSM and the Osbourne lights in three hours! Awesome!

It's pretty subjective. Depends what theming you prefer. We like Magnolia Bend.

Glad you're on the mend! I just got my flu and pneumonia vaccines today!!

What a day!!! After deciding to change our ressie at CBR (we'll try them after their refurb), deciding the extra cost to go to WL wasn't in the cards, DH agree to try POR! Yippee

Wow! We arrived today for our first stay at POR and were blown away - it's beautiful, the grounds and the room. Rumours of its vast size were way overstated, it's an easy walk. It's right up there with AKL for us.

If anyone out there is going from a deluxe to POR, and is worried that it will feel like a step down, don't.

I agree. We go back and forth between deluxe and POR happily. POR!! And never feel its a step down. IMO it has the most beautiful grounds on property, along with Poly.

We checked in yesterday. We booked a King bed room and got our request for a river view in Magnolia Terrace. We do have a fridge in the room (didn't even ask), and I will say that I thought the pictures of the rooms without the bedspreads looked awful, but in person it doesn't look bad at all.

Sad day here, we had to put our 6 year old puppy to sleep, hopefully being at WDW in 5 days will help the sadness. I want to thank Andre and Venom, for helping us plan our magical first trip. So excited.

Good morning fellow POR DISer's Just thought of a question. We usually bring the paper coffee cups from our room to the Main Dining hall to fill up with coffee and hot chocolate. I can't seem the get the coffee smell out of the refillable mugs , even though I always do the dish-detergent on a sponge trick Not sure if we will still be able to do this with the new RFID system...are there still paper coffee cups in the rooms and is the hot chocolate/coffee/ hot water system chip-enabled...also does anyone have a tip on how to completely get the coffee smell out of a mug? TIA!!

Not sure what type of cups are in the room, but the coffee & hot choc are not part of the RFID system.

This may sound weird, but I've heard of people using Efferdent (denture cleaning tabs) to rid their mugs of coffee smell/stains.

Wow that is sad. My Fiance does cremations for pet owners, so she sees that way too much. No problem we love to help guests anyway we can.

We are heading to Disney on 11/21 for a long weekend. Does anyone know if the resort is decorated for the holidays yet? When we stayed at ASMu over Thanksgiving a couple years ago they had their decorations up. Thanks!

I'm very sorry. I know how difficult that is. We had to put our 12 year old yellow Lab to sleep this past April.

Hope your trip takes away some of the sadness and that you have an extra magical time on your vacation.

I usually dont post but I've been reading this thread for months now. We leave IN THE MORNING and I'm happy to hear that we might have a fridge for the latter part of our trip. Also, can't wait to utilize the boats from POR to DTD! Very cool option to have from your resort!

I was going to say that part of the reason why I was posting was to be able to see my ticker but for some reason it doesn't say 1 day or 0 days, its just blank. Oh well.
