POR or POFQ???

We are a family of 3 - myself, my wife, and 18 month old. Which hotel do you think would be better for us? We are going in February, so pools are not a factor. Also, we will be driving and therefore bringing alot of our own "snacks", so food at the resort is not a top priority either.
And how has bus transportation been? I have read mixed reviews.

We stayed at POFQ this past March and would highly recommend it. It is a smaller resort...7 buildings, 3 stories each versus the 20 buildings over at POR. It is very quiet and relaxing. The hotel was at 90%-95% capacity when were there and you never would have known it.
The buses...I know I have read reviews of people ripping the bus service at POFQ but we really never had an issue. There is one bus stop at POFQ and 4 at POR. Yes, it does share a bus with POR but not all the time. And it stops at POFQ for both pick up and drop off. I think we might have stopped at POR on our way to a park once in 8 full days onsite. The only time we had crowding issues was when we were leaving the parks at night and the POR and POFQ were sharing a bus. Then the buses got really crowded. But it is quite simple if you get to the front of the line and it's packed and they are still loading step aside and let other people on. You have a baby, no one is going to give you a hard time about waiting for the next bus so you can sit. Because you CANNOT guarantee that anyone is going to give up their seat just because you have a baby.

Well, I will be of no help whatsoever!!! I just wanted to say that you can't go wrong with either resort! We have stayed at both several times and love them. I always drive (spinal issues) so I cannot help you with the transportation question.
POR is very large. POFQ is small by Disney standards. I guess you could just choose based upon which theme you prefer. They are both fantastic resorts. Have fun!

Stitchlover - you are so right about people not giving up a seat with a baby. We stayed at GF last Feb. We got on the bus to AK, at the time my daughter was 6 months. NO ONE would give up one seat so I could sit with the baby. I am not saying that people should, but it would have been nice.

What about just driving to the parks from the resort? Is it a long walk to the parking lots? What about from the resort room to the resort parking lot?

I am thinking we might just try the bus system and see how it goes. But we will always have our car if we need it.

Also, I think I read somewhere that the King Bed rooms do not have a tub at POFQ - that they have a shower only??? Does anyone have any knowledge of this. We really need a tub with the baby, but would like a king bed room so we would have room for the pack-n-play.

We stayed in a king room and had a tub. Maybe some don't. Ours was a beautiful corner room with a water view. You can call and request a tub for sure!

I stayed in a king room at POFQ in August, Building 5, closest to the food court, and very close to the pool, and bus stop...it was wonderful! The rooms are a nice size, and come with refrigerators and tubs! The only transportation issue we had was waiting 30 minutes for a bus to DTD,,then we gave up and took the boat...which I am so glad we did, it was a very nice ride (sort of loud though) I think you'll have a wonderful time with your family ! (makes me want to go back already!!)

All of the seats were taken but by the time we left, about 4 or 5 families with babies or small children got on and every single one of them was given a seat. There were even people who got up not only so that the children could sit, but so that the mom's or dad's could sit too. I got goosebumps just seeing how Disney really brings out the good in people. It's so sad that this doesn't happen all the time.

I had the same (good) experience - We were there in march with my DD 2 and DS 10 months. Every single time we were on the bus people gave up there seats for me (with my son on my lap) AND my daughter. Other family members had to stand, but at least i could sit with my son.

Maybe this is a little old fashioned of me, but a man should ALWAYS give up his seat for a baby,a pregnant woman, or an older woman. Didn't their dads teach them right?!! but that's for another thread!

i'm staying at POR in about 2 weeks and after all the research i did, i found they're both really great! i can't wait!
