Nope, the mouse has disappeared. No signs of it anywhere. So I don't know what the deal is. I am just thankful that it is gone gone gone. Maybe Nala ate it or it got outside?

I didn't manage to see "anyone". I must be dense or something. I was hoping I would meet you so our Grace's could meet too. How was the wine tasting????

AHHHH!!!! I was TAGGED!! :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

Sweet!! :thumbsup2

This morning was rough. Joe had a football game and right smack in the middle of the game started walking away. The game haulted, there was dead silence, and the coach yelled, where are you going?? Joe yelled back, I'm tired I don't want to play anymore and plopped down on the field and wouldn't get back up. I was stunned! :faint: I was so embarrassed as I went to get him off the ground and out of the playing area. He said he didn't want to play anymore, but I refuse to let him quit!! Is that wrong???

Denise

it's not wrong at all! i agree he should not quit as much as he wants to. It will teach him to follow throughwith his commitments. Maybe it was just a one day thing :) :wizard:

Yes Chris, tell us about the wine tasting!!! :p

Thank you Chris, I will probably take you up on that offer.

The doc called my Mom today and told her that she will probably not have surgery to remove the tumor. Instead they are going to do chemo. I guess because of the kind of tumor it is, chemo is the best course of action. They might want another biopsy if the results from this one do not tell them everything they need to know. If they need another biopsy, they will do it on the 13th. She will meet with oncologists in Tucson to decide her chemo treatments.

I think next time we need to make a HUGE lime green mickey head out of poster board and put it on the table. That way there would be no missing us!

Denise,
I can relate to your story. My view on sports is they are supposed to be fun. Especially at this age level. I have told Ryan when he stops enjoying it, then it is time to quit. I do believe in follow-through though. And seeing the season through will give a sense of accomplishment. I really try to let the coaches handle situations like that. Seems like the minute I get involved Ryan the drama king comes out. I do not think the coach handled it properly. He should have gone over to your son or sent an assistant coach to quietly talk to him about what was going on. A little pep talk can usually get Ry back into the spirit!
You know your kid best... do what you think it right. :thumbsup2

Hi, all. DH is doing much better, thanks for asking. The doctor kept him out of work this week (hurray!), and he has plenty of sick time, so that's no big deal. But he started back to class this week (HURRAY!), since he's supposed to graduate in December, and if he misses too many more classes he will automatically fail (the university has a very strict attendance policy). SOOOO...he's tired from that, but gaining in strength every day, so I think we're on the mend. I'm just so glad he didn't have to go to the hospital.

We even went to our local food & wine festival today. Found a new wine we REALLY like...Messina Hof winery, Angel Riesling  . It's ALMOST an ice wine (not quite), but very sweet and nice. And we tried flavored saki for the first time...really enjoyed the apple and raspberry saki, also very sweet, and the Japanese plum wine, too. And lots of our favorite local restaurants did food for it, so we stuffed ourselves silly. All the food and wine you want for $25 each, hard to beat!

Ok, time to go catch up on the DIS Secret Project threads I missed today. Still waiting to find out what the big project is...the reveal of the real celebrity was only the first step of the project.

See y'all tomorrow! Gotta clean house most of the day, since we were out most of the day today!

Better yet, why don't you get like a bat signal and shine a lime green Mickey head into the sky!!

Crossing fingers and sending a prayer that the chemo works. I know how hard this is for you Tia. You may surprise yourself when and where you find the strength you need to get through it and be there for your mom. I know I wasn't exactly in your shoes, but I know where your head is. I surprised myself. God bless you and your family.

BTW, do you know if your DH got your message about needing him to come home sooner??? I hope he will be there for you and Ry soon.

Sheesh I hope so. He is only 4 and this is his very first sports team experience, so I don't want to over react. Thanks for the support. He took a nap when he got home and woke up and said he was sorry he was bad today. Broke my heart. I said that you were not bad, but you are going to go Mon to practice and keep at it. He said he wants to play :thumbsup2

Actually the coach was really great about it and tried to encourage him to play. He came up to me after the game and said to please don't let him quit, encourage him to play. He even got a touchdown his first game. I think what frustrates all of them especially the coach is that the teams are terribly mismatched. They have 4 through 7 years old and they were supposed to even out the teams, and they did not. They have a couple of teams of 4 and 5 year olds and the rest of the teams are 6 and 7 year olds who run all over the littler guys. It is kind of aggravating. The refs show favoritism to the bigger guys, so the little guys will never get a fair shake. What a great example to show them. It is through the YMCA so it kind os surprises me. They won one game, against the other 4 year olds. Three more weeks of games, all double headers, so we will get through it if it kills me!! :teeth:

He has not received the message yet. Since she is no longer having the operation, I do not think they will send him home. He'll be here for Thanksgiving so I guess that is soon enough.
We chatted today about alternative therapy for cancer. My Mom has always been "of the earth." I tend to get some of my hippy ways from her. Mind you she is the best dressed hippy I know, but anyway. Any thoughts on non medical treatments? She referred me to a web site and honestly everything makes sense. There was even a lady on there (an MD) who cured herself from breast cancer. I am scared that if she goes the natural way it might spread and then what? But I also completely respect the fact that going through chemo is not perhaps the best course of action. I didn't know that the FDA can't by law endorse anything that is not a drug. Meaning anything natural: herbs, plants, flowers, etc will not be endorsed. So studies have been conducted that proved say heart disease can be cured by using natural substances. But of course doctors will not make money off of an herb so they push drugs which never cure you, just cover up the symptoms.
Boy oh boy, there is so much info out there.

It is very hard when the teams are not matched fairly. A ton of growth happens every year and even a 2 year age difference can be MAJOR!
Our last game is next Saturday. Thank goodness. I am ready for the break. 3 nights a week plus Saturday games since the beginning of August. 2 months off then Ry wants to play basketball. Woo Hoo! :joker:

Good morning... have to go to a big bingo social tomorrow for the elders  so I am still up!! baking Xmas cookies!!! Well I must have ingest half of the batch of cookies :rotfl: and now getting really sleepy!

Have a nice Sunday!!!

Tia am thinking of you always
