POP refurbed rooms with Flat Screens! Update Page 13 **

Has anyone been in the 50's area lately? It sounds like they might be almost done now.

Building 3 in the 50s is done. I had a refurbed room 3112 week of 9/13/10. Building 1 is in progress. I saw work on the 4th floor week of 9/13/10 and I read a post today about work on the 2nd floor going on now. From lack of reports, sounds like Building 2 may be untouched as yet.

Just back from our stay at Pop and we were in the 50's section room 1136 and it was not redone. I was a little bummed by that but even the "old" rooms there was MUCH better than the one night we stayed at Movies before we checked into Pop. The room was yucky!! So even though I was a little bummed at first to not have gotten my request for a refurbished room I was happy it was in better condition than the movies room we had. We had a very nice stay at Pop and when we are not using our points I would say we would not hesitate to go back to Pop!! :)

Just got home and we were in 50s building #2 and it was NOT refurbed yet. However, the room was very clean and extremely quiet. I would have like to have had a refurbed room just to see what it was like, but I definitely was happy with what we had.

We were there from 9/18-9/25. We requested Bldg. 3, facing pool. We were origanally given Bldg. 2, facing pool...but when I asked if it was refurb. the cm made a call and found out is was not. She was so nice and asked if we wanted a refurb, so ended up Bldg. 3, 2nd floor facing pool. It was a perfect location and we had a great week. Really like the curtain between the sink area and rest of room, helped the four of us getting ready with some privacy.

If anyone has any questions....post it and I will try to answer!

Just got back from a week long stay at Pop. We were in Building 3, 4th floor, poolside (our exact requests!). When we arrived on 9/22, they were doing work on the 3rd floor of Building 1. I'm pretty sure they finished the 3rd floor that week. We noticed that as of Monday/Tuesday, they were working on the 2nd floor of Building 1 (at least the poolside rooms). No work being done on Building 2 (jukebox building).

We loved staying in the 50's section. We were in room 3409 which is almost at the very end of Building 3. It was not a far walk at all to Classic Hall and the bus stops. We stayed in Building 4 last year (preferred, poolside) and were on the 4th floor almost at the very end as well (by the baby pool). It was about the same distance. Our Mousekeeper all week was excellent and our refurbed room was great!

I'm thinking about a room with a king-size bed for my DH and myself and bringing my DD's (4 years old) Aerobed. The Aerobed measures 58"x33". Will it fit on the side of the King-sized bed? Do you think it's a good idea? (Is it cold on the floor? or something else I'm not thinking of?) Thanks!

Sohappy1,

:welcome: to the boards.

The king rooms only allow 2 people so Disney won't let you stay in a King room with a 3rd person. It's one of the occupancy limit rules. Sorry!

I got back late Sat night. We stayed in the 50's section from 9/25 - 10/2. Building 2, 4th floor, pool facing, room 2465. Not refurbished. When we were there they were working on the right side (if you're facing Lady) 2nd floor of building 1. Only saw them working twice since we were mostly in the parks. Hope that helps. :goodvibes

thank you so much for sharing with pictures, i will be there on my honeymoon nov28-dec02 and i so want a king bed room. Have not seen one with new refurb room. What room # number are you in! I put my request in for a king bed anywhere in building 1,2,3 the 50's. I love the 50's section.

Just returned from 3 days at the Pop. First room was in the 50's building 1. It had just been redone & the paint was VERY fresh. Had headache, sore throat & watery eyes after only 30 mins. in room. They gladly switched me to a room in the 70's

I haven't seen confirmations that building 1 is completely done yet, but it's been in progress for the last few weeks, and undoubtedly will be done by mid November. Building 2 remains to be done, it may or may not be done by your trip. Building 3 in the 50s is done. All other buildings in 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s have been reported to be complete.

Just back yesterday and I saw them working on the first and second floors of building 1 and also had a bunch of guys and supplies standing around building 2, but didn't seem to be doing much to it at the time.

They won't allow that. They only allow 3 in a room if its two people and a baby in a pack n play. If the child is not in a pack n play they will put you in a normal 2 double bed room sorry, its a fire regulation thingie or something.

Was at POP 5 weeks ago (feels more like 5 months). While we were there, we booked for next September. This week, my hubby's boss told him no vacations next year between August and November. Hubby told me to make a new reservation for February/March but not to cancel September just yet. Sounds like TWO Disney trips for me next year!

Two days ago I had to wait 11 months to get to Disney. Today, I only have to wait 4 months. I AM SO PSYCHED! Made all my ADRs. Put in my building requests and my medical refrigerator request. Now, the wait - but with the holidays coming up, it should go nice and fast!

Never been down there in February/March. Anyone give me some clue on what to pack - shorts/pants, sweaters/coats??????
